The 2013-14 NFL Thread

Wow. NBC's halftime show is just epic fail all around. Can't hear anything.

LOL. Now we have the Spanish track!

Haha I have a deep hate for Jacoby Jones so I thought that was hilarious.

And yeah Clark drops a wide open pass and then gets fucking destroyed.

The Ravens are going to sign Ray Lewis III tomorrow just so his dad will stand on the sidelines and maybe do the dance once in a while.

lol raven player shaking his head with a smirk on his face.. That's the face of "boy, we got our asses whooped tonight!" if I ever saw one.

might as well have played this tonight whenever the ravens took the field

Pretty much everything went downhill after the rookie clobbered Jacoby Jones. After that, anything that could go wrong did go wrong for the Ravens.

Though the Ravens could have made it a game if the TEs could catch the damn ball.

My job gets me perks from time to time. I'll say that football is probably 4th in my ranking of loyalty (MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL) for full disclosure. Also, I love to watch football, I just don't feel the ups and downs. But I got two tickets for the Zurich Skyline Suite at Solider Field against the Bengals. My guy at one of the carriers I use on a daily basis got these for me. So, opening day, Bears, all inclusive, parking pass. I checked how much these are worth, and I feel I should wear a tux or something. Nah. Shorts and a shirt will be fine. Only my 3rd Bears game, and the second of 3 I haven't paid for with my own money. I'd be happy to go more if people kept throwing tickets at me.

What fucking rough half, but the defense played well enough to let the offense get their shit together at the end of the half. I hope they can keep that offensive momentum going through the second half.

The NFL has become such a weak sport. The bucs laid the wood on two Jets receivers and got penalized both times. Kept the Jets drive alive and they ended up scoring.

Raiders played better than I expected but a loss is still a loss.

Also, looks like Ray Maualuga cost the bengals a chance to win or tie the game with a penalty after a play in which the bengals had stopped the bears on 3rd down.

The Titans beat the Steelers in a defensive battle after starting off with one of the worst plays in NFL history. Outside of that gift, the Steelers didn't put up points until the final minute of the game. I did not see that coming, lol. Titans defense sacked Big Ben 5 times. Derrick Morgan, Zach Brown, and Jurrell Casey are going to be studs. Jason McCourty also had a very good game.

On the offensive side, Locker looked a bit jittery and seemed to be rushing his throws at times. And it's sad, but the running game was more effective with Jackie Battle than Chris Johnson in there (at least until the 4th quarter). One of the announcers even pointed it out, the Titans o-line was just way more effective on runs between the tackles than runs to the outside. Hopefully that's something that can be worked out because that's really counter-intuitive to how CJ runs. Battle was getting 5 yard runs by just kind of following his blockers and making his own hole whether it was there or not. But smashmouth football isn't going to work when you're 5'11" 190lbs.

Still a great win on the road to start the season. And it makes me feel better about the team having to travel to Houston next week.

lol what, ravens gave up boldin for a 6th rounder? Gdamn that's robbery. They pretty much assured 49ers a ring for this season.

The best team does not always win the Super Bowl.

In SNF news, here is how the Giants/Cowboys game has gone so far:

- Cowboys: Giants, have the victory!
- Giants: No, Cowboys, you take the win!
- Romo: Hey, my supporting cast did good for once!
- Manning: Yay! One really, really good throw with some salsa spice!
- Romo: Ow. Football hurts. Hehe. Ow. Hehe. Ow. Hehe. Ow.

I am pretty sure 5 turn overs isn't exactly "stinking up the joint" ;)

Second half!

Romo: I got better!
Manning: Owie.
Wilson: A football!? Yuck!
Giants: You sure you don't want to win, Cowboys?
Cowboys: Oh OK, if you insist.
Giants: No, wait. I still wanna win.
Cowboys: Nuh-uh! No take backs!
Giants: :crying:

speaking of refusing a free win,  New England tried everything they could to lose todays game but the bills were like "nah  we don't want it"

refs in full derp mode right now

Remember back when the no huddle offense was something special? Close game, time running out. Instead of just hey let's be quick to tire out the defense.
