They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

I can't find a trade in value for an item?
It might not be tradable or calling a store to find the value may be the only option.

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

Are there trade limits?
Yes, $500 cash minus some electronic trade ins and or $2000 trade credit in a rolling 30 day period.

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).


TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Traded some mwt titles today. Site values were accurate. +20% triggered when adding an amount toward an existing preorder. Wanted to have tc onhand in case the earlier reports of b2g1 starting tomorrow are accurate.
 
Just went to my local GameStop and asked the guy working if he knew anything about a b2g1 and he said 4 for 10 and 4 for 20 tomorrow so we’ll see.
 
Has anyone else heard anything about the Buy 2 get one being active tomorrow aside from the guy who heard something from an assistant manager? I've racked up a bunch of trade and need to make some moves.

Yeah looks like no buy2get1 this week. We just had one earlier in the month so having another one so soon didn't seem right.

So many people out there paying full prices for what eventually devolve into extended rentals of titles. I'm not a fan of this digital future...and it's only going to get worse and more restrictive/expensive as time goes on.

Digital is how games will ultimately be persevered.

The problem with digital futures are the DRM and constant ties to online so many games have.

It will work on either, but the coupon only discounts 1 item. If you do the 4 for $10 it will only make one of the games free so you'd get 4 for $7.50 (you'd get a discount of $2.50 off one of the games). In the 4 for $20 promo your price would be 4 for $15 (1 game would get the $5 applied).

So is the $5 coupon essentially worthless now?

I'm trying to get some sort of use out of it, so I have been getting Pokémon cards. However, out out of the 3 Pokémon $5 packs I've bought all have had worthless $0.01 garbage cards, except the first month.

Trying to figure out a better use for the coupon. To get something better for free.

I try to use it on an under $10 game each month. The closer to $5 the better. Unless I’m actually buying something that month

Dude, pull rates for Pokemon have been trash for years now. It doesn't help half the set is hyper rare bullshit you'll never find in a pack. I've gotten so discouraged buying packs and even getting free ones with my $5 monthly coupon. Buy singles! Though, I'm sure you already knew that lol

My Pro membership ends 8/10 and I can't wait to be freed of my monthly obligation to find something to use the coupon on. There's just zero value in the membership for me and I'm sick of supporting this company.

Tried it yesterday and worked surprisingly. But they didn't have the disc for the 4th game I wanted so I just grabbed a cheap game.
 
Can you get in trouble for canceling an online order/pre-order too many times? Been second-guessing what games I wanna buy this fall Day 1 and which ones I'll just wait for a sale, then I remembered you never know with this website, I better be careful 😅

With Black Friday season it’s best just to wait for sales. The sales happen sooner rather than later.
 
I'll put what I posted in the Xbox thread:

This is a huge bummer. I signed up for two years at $34.99 when it became a separate sub from Gamestop. They should've done this way sooner, but, Gamestop. Curiously, there were no ads in the issues. Maybe one or two. After recently reading some EGMs from the turn of the millennium, where almost every other page was an ad or two-page ad, this was surprising to me. I really enjoyed getting a monthly gaming mag again, and the editorial pieces were great reads!

I'd really been enjoying it too. One special quality of the magazine format is feeling more compelled to read the whole thing cover to cover, unlike gaming blogs, message boards, yadda yadda where I'm generally clicking into things I know about and am already interested in. My attention seems to hold better with a tactile magazine than reading something on a monitor or on a phone too.

The editorial pieces were really impressive, between the deep dives and a knack for inspired slants. I will greatly miss Game Informer, and I can't really see myself re-upping Pro after this.
