I figured since I went crazy( by my standards. certainly not some of you guys' standards

Only 2 10 dvd orders for me) on the rightstuf sale and am starting to get back into anime, I might stop by this thread and see what the current shows are all about.
I'm currently trying to track down all the giant robot shows for kids from the 70s to present. I don't go for the drama and emo angst of stuff like evangelion. I'm all about the mindless no plot action of multicolored robots that join together to repel the latest attack from space. The 70s,80s,90s Sunrise series' being my favorites.
I was a wee youngin when I saw my first anime, it was Battle of the Planets. It's really the first cartoon I can remember watching regularly and I think may have tainted my opinion of american cartoons to an extent. I never thought that american animation was as detailed, action packed, and serious as BotP.
Looking back now, I wonder what the hell I was thinking.

It looks so primitive and simple to my eyes now

I've been meaning to track down the gatchaman JP version to see how different it is.
If anyone is interested, theres a ton of incredibly cool collections on youtube. Search for "robot anime op history" and you can find every series' opening from like the 60s on up, by production date.
Knowing my likes and dislikes, if anyone has any recommendations to throw at me of current stuff I would be most grateful. No giant boobed girls, harems, or angsty teens/adults, pls

Kids saving the world with giant swords or driving giant robots is where its at!
