Yeah, it would be nice if it worked like Netflix and I could stop buying my brother games he ends up not playing.
I'm excited because it means (potentially, anyway) that my son and I could share games. For example, he has the new Amnesia game I've been wanting to try out, and after seeing me play through Fallout: New Vegas he wants to play it now. True, we could just use each other's computers or sign in to each other's accounts. But that kind of ruins the "community" aspects since he wouldn't be able to unlock achievements for Fallout nor post screenshots to his friends (just mine).

So this could be really cool!

$49.99 gets access to my Steam account. You must become a member of my family and you can't play any games, you can only look at the icons since nobody plays games on my account.

It still sucks that you can't have two people playing a different game simultaneously. However, separate achievements/cloud saves is a nice feature.
Agreed, if it's current form carries forward it could make sense start splitting one's library over multiple accounts.

I'm pretty excited about the family share feature; or at least my kids will be. Now maybe some of my backlogged games will see the light of day.

I never played Darkspawn Chronicles or Golems of Angarrak and Return to Ostagar was just too short.
Do it! Darkspawn Chronicles is short, but it's a real laugh playing as the bad guys against your old team.

Sadly, it's not complete it just has the WB published Lego games. No Lego Star Wars, no Lego Indiana Jones.
I need one lousy Indiana Jones game to complete my collection.

I agree with the sentiment that they are all largely the same. I've busted through three of them now and the last one (Harry Potter 5-7) started to get a little tedious. I always tell people to pick the license they like the best, then then take a long break before playing the next.

They'll be announcing that for the 10 year anniversary of Steam that they'll be hiring the developer of Enhanced Steam and implementing it's features on the storefront for everyone.

Great now Gabe is trying to force his sense of "family values" on me.  I can hear him now, "moralistic highground b*tches."

As an only child, I never learned what "sharing" is.

I did however learn about "taking responsibility."

So how much are beta invites to this going to sell for
If there is any way to monetize this like with the cardz then I will be all over this shiz.

I was completely lost until I remembered jshack's avatar. I love you, man. You too, js.

These Lego games are too expensive if you ask me. I played the first Star Wars one on Xbox way back in the day and loved it for what it was at the time (which was a prequel trilogy that was better than the actual movies and fun to play), but it wasn't exactly the deepest experience, and apparently if you've played one you've played them all. I'm certainly not going to pay $7.50 a pop for them on sale (what they've generally been previously), or even 5ish in this pack. What we need is a discount of Amazon Squeenix bundle proportions. That'd get me to bite.

Then again, I imagine I'm not the target market, it being parents with young children who need the next installment in the series to keep them entertained.
You clearly have yet to play the current ones. It's like the Star Wars one back in the day was a really early beta of what there is now. It's really much deeper. They have VOICE ACTING too. LEGO BATMAN 2 is WELL WORTH over 7.50$. I paid 60$ for it and never enjoyed a LEGO gmae like it.

That being said, I played demos of LEGO MARVEL and LEGO THE MOVIE: THE GAME at FanExpo and they seem like clones of LEGO BATMAN 2, which reinvigorated the franchise.

So apparently I'm member number 5666! Woo.

I don't have that many friends to share games with. :( My 700+ games are all so lonely.

You know, it would be nice if people who get these games shared to them also got cards... let's flood the market!

Has everybody seen the new weekly deals Tony is advertising in the Amazon thread? All the Hitmen for $9, Absolution+Tomb Raider 2013+Sleeping Dogs for $14, Absolution+Sleeping Dogs+Deux Ex+both Just Causes for $15. Square Enix is killing it again. I will probably pick up the second bundle and try to flip SD, since I don't have either of the other two. Maybe the Hitman bundle as well. I guess when I think about it the most sensible thing would be to buy the Hitman bundle and pick up TR on the forum.

Noted! I will consider Batman 2 or Marvel if the opportunity arises. Thanks!

Let me ask you something random, because I see you've been playing it in your sig. How is TMNT?
I haven't been playing it as much as my sig said (my brother left it idling for a few hours)

but it's pretty rushed, to be honest, but if you're a TMNT fan it pays alot of homages and respects to the franchise and it's great fan service. The combat seems clunky at times and the camera is DREADFUL (which can be fixed via mods found in the Steam forums for the game)

There's not much to expect from a 15$ game, but it does have "Challenge Maps" but also an "Arcade" mode which turns it into a side scroller.

Oh and Co-Op is broken on PC. You can't invite/join private games. Activision is apparently sending out a big patch, but I doubt it'll come soon.

Fez and FTL at BTA? Disappointing: I'd have liked Fez in the $1 tier.

Oh, and FYI:

If you don't want to give any money to Phil Fish, you'll have to manually decrease that contribution bar. If you don't, Fez gets an even contribution regardless of whether you BTA or not.

The biggest killer for this is that its not all games and its entire libraries.  I'd love to give access to my content to family members and friends but the way it stands it sounds like if I am even logged in they can't use it.  I don't want to log out because that's how I keep my games up to date.

It almost make an account for every game and share them with yourself but the work involved in that hardly seems worth it.

Signed up. If this had been in place previously, my wife wouldn't have bought DA:O on her own account. She'd originally played it on mine and then wanted it on her own for convenience's sake. (So far, her account is just games we both own for multiplayer, extra bundle keys that now generate cards, and DA:O.) This makes me wonder just where Valve's incentive is here. Is the hope that people will borrow games and treat them like extended demos and then bite during sales? Or are they going to try to limit things to within households for family convenience? The latter seems more likely.

In other news, I finally played some Ittle Dew last night for about an hour and a half. I like it. But then, I've always had a penchant for block sliding puzzles. Also, I finally said the name out loud today. OH I GET IT!

As an only child, I never learned what "sharing" is.

I did however learn about "taking responsibility."
You mean you didn't have a family pet on whom to blame your mischief?

I feel dirty.  I bought mainly for Fez.  I already had Brutal Legend, FTL, MOTN, and I didn't care much for the original Trine.  Oh well, at least it was only $3.19.  Great bundle for those who missed any of these; FTL is my personal favorite.

Same here, I have most of these games.. if it weren't for Fez I wouldn't be buying it, and it looks like they changed it so you need to BTA to get next weeks bonuses.

Beat the Humble average at $3.50, and I expect it'll keep rising.  Manually cut Fish out of the total and bumped the charity level up in his place.  I feel that I have optimized my value from this purchase.  CAG'in' it right.

Edit: My Trine 2 key doesn't seem to have included the base game?  It gave a weird message and showed nothing in the content box, but said that it was activated and associated with my account.  Going to try logging out and in.

Edit 2: Relogging added it to my library.

Yep

'More games coming soon!
Pay more than the average of $3.56
to unlock them when they arrive! '

I could get it for $3.15, but I haven't seen those sentences before. FTL is a great game, but I feel quite bad by rebuying it to get probably repeated games from previous bundles.

If any game you just activated doesn't show up in your library, try restarting Steam. That fixed it for me.

Something else I've noticed: it always bugged me that you cannot buy the Trine 2 DLC anymore. They "upgraded" my Trine 2 to the "Trine 2 Complete Story" but when launching it, it still wouldn't play the DLC.

The key from Humble fixes that and successfully added the Goblin Menace to my account.

"Trine 2: Complete Story Upgrade" is the DLC.

Despite owning everything but Fez I was probably going to throw in $1 to gamble on bonuses.  At $4, not a chance.  Chances are they won't add more than two things I'd be interested in max which I'm sure will be $2.50 on Steam sale with fake GabeN card money eventually.

Only missing fez, bleh. I paid $4 just to see the next round of games. The sad thing: I bought brutal Legend and Trine 2 recently (on sale, of course). What's even more sad? I bought the Trine 2 3-pack

Word. Why did they even call it an average? And how did they come to $5.80 as the threshold? It seemed unnecessarily arbitrary.
$5.80 is the average of all the humble bundles sold over their entire history. The second weekly sale that used it dropped "average" from the wording. If you're going to use a set level instead of a moving average, $5.80 doesn't seem all that different than Groupee's $5. It does seem clear though that it is an option that can be used in bundles and not a change to be used in all bundles--I'm certainly glad for that.

Bought the humble bundle mainly for the FTL soundtrack! I often considered buying the FTL soundtrack from the composer's website for $5, but this is an even better deal :D

I did the same with Brutal Legend. Now I've learned my lesson. No more double fine or deep silver games for me. I bought Trine 2 last year, but I played through that immediately twice, so I don't feel bad about that.

That was the Arcen Weekly (which is still active)--and this topic was beaten to death in the Humble thread. The answer goes something like this: 1) the dev probably wanted it set that way; 2) the site doesn't actually say that the number represents an average; and 3) there is no indication that this change is permanent.

I BTA'd on this one (at $3.78--TOO slow!), but I'm not even sure I want to play FEZ. It looks like lukewarm crap. As many times as I've looked at gameplay videos and read about it, it still looks terrible. I think it has something to do with my lack of affection for platformers and games that revel in being difficult. I already have FTL and Mark of the Ninja (oh, and I hated Trine 1), so I think I mainly bought this for the mystery bonuses and to double-dip on Brutal Legend (which I'm about an hour into on PS3). I may need to have my head examined.

I'm about 10 hours into LEGO Batman 2, and I like it but it is VERY repetitive: smash a bunch of stuff, rotate a switch, jump into a different MacGuffin suit and use its MacGuffin, rinse, repeat. I can only play one or two levels at a time before I get a bit tired of it. I also have the Clone Wars and LOTR games backlogged. I can see these games being a lot more fun in co-op or for kids but for two adults to play through one of these must be arduous. I like the story in Batman 2 and it handles really well with a controller but the KB+M controls are dreadful; I don't remember but that might be the reason I ragequit the first game.

dat ftl soundtrack is worth $4 alone
Well, if you missed Game Music Bundle 5 perhaps.
