Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Alan Wake.

Then Condemned: Criminal Origins.

Then go buy Condemned 2 for $5 at your local used game retailer for whatever console you might own, since it never made it to PC.

Thanks.

Thanks everybody for your input, but fuck you, I'm just gonna play pinball.

jk, condemned it is

Edit: What's everybody's opinion on that Groupees Build a Greenlight bundle? Worth buying?
at first glance, it looked like an instant-pass bundle. but when i watched the trailer for the bundle, the games didnt look that bad.

Savage, Heroes of a Broken Land, and Magicians & Looters look pretty decent.

Im not sure I'm gonna buy it yet, but if I do, I'll probably only play Savage (if it gets greenlit that is)

Monster Challenge and Paper Dungeons have me interested enough to drop 25 pennies, 3 nickels, 2 dimes and a quarter. Not sure what other two games I will pick.

2 dollar investment with a potential profit of at best 9-10 steam count. Go all in. I had to change my no vote on like 6 of those games that I had previously thumbed down.

Dirt cheap, games don't look that bad, and these days all sorts of shitty Greenlight games make it onto Steam purely because they were bundled, so it's low risk, high reward imo.

I stumbled across these... I felt they captured the essence of our feeling toward two CAG regulars.

See what happens when you buy a console. ;)
I've had consoles though. I just bought Forza 4; that's not even for the console I just bought.

A bit worse graphics than Forza 5, but more cars, tracks, and an online auction house feature. It's arguably the better game, but Forza 5 is gorgeous... I'll still probably play both.

Forza 4 > Forza 5 seems to be a common stance from what I've read.

93% off just screams bundle fodder. But then again it looks like it's free to play for the duration of the sale, so it might be worth checking out.

I bought a 4 pack yesterday, I thought it might be cool for a cheap family multi-player game.

It has cards too, which is nice.
ihad it long time ago it fun if anyone want the developer achievemnt i have it so suck it up if u want u ccan get achievemnt if u paid me mony heh jk but for real that achievemnt

Better graphics (and possibly road feel to some degree) in exchange for amount of cars, tracks, and auction house. The XB1 is a nice system to play on though, and being able to say "Xbox record that" to record epic moments (or ridiculous crashes) in my races is addicting. Can't say I regret grabbing Forza 5, regardless of the downsides.

In any case, I grabbed Forza 4 used, but it's in mint condition and it comes with the DLC cards. Odds are that they're used, but it's relatively uncommon to find them included on eBay listings, and I've lucked out on them before. Some people just never get around to putting them in, and that's why they're still sitting in the game case (they usually get thrown away after people used the codes).

Yeah.. it wouldn't surprise me if it's one of the Blink bundle bonuses. One of the bonuses has cards, so it fits.

Tonight I completed the last of my Four in Feb!

1. Bioshock

2. Bioshock 2

3. Assassin's Creed Liberation

4. Bioshock Minerva's Den

Since # 4 is a DLC I'm thinking of rushing through a smaller stand alone game before the end of the month just to cover my ass. :whistle2:k

Since we're on Bioshock talk and Irrational kinda goes along w/ it...

Ken Levine just posted that they have around 50 studios & 112 recruiters showing-up for Irrational recruiter day - to try and recruit former Irrational dev's to other studios.

They got so many showing-up, they're moving it from their studio to a ballroom at an external site.

Ken Levine

I don't know who the hell they're sleeping with, but the Irrational Team has so far attracted 50 studio/publishers sending 112 recruiters. We’re decided our office is too small for this and we’re going to be moving we’re moving the external recruiting day on wed. feb 26th from our office to a ballroom to a much larger off site location.

Heads up to pubs turned away because of size constraints, plz re-ping [email protected] to get onboard ‪#‎irratoinaljobs‬

That's awful good people of Irrational.

Speaking of the Feb 4, if anyone wants a mulliganish one, The Plan is free on Steam, takes about 5 minutes to finish, and gives you a shiny +1 to your Perfect Games count on yer profile (and on Astats).

I'm counting that, plus a couple of games where I finally got the last few achievements for 100% in addition to starts/finishes in Feb proper.

Okay, this is different.  I bought a bundle from a place called VODO a while back.  It had I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream in it, so I figured that was the end of it.  Well, apparently I got put in a mailing list and got a message asking me to get their latest bundle.  A Porno bundle.  No seriously, I've made jokes about Humble Bundle 30 before, but these guys just totally did it.  It's hilarious, and it's got a Steam Game in the 1.00 tier.  So check it out if you want a quick laugh.

it's definitely laughable...i mean, who would buy this when all the porno you would ever want is free online?

No, I'm talking about installing a switch for a single light in two separate locations.
Ah, so you're playing Gunpoint, then.

I scrutinized each game and selected my winners, but the fact that it lets you have them for 25 cents apiece had me ultimately grab the lot of them.

Not sure if this has been used or not but GG says it hasn't. So apologies ahead if its already taken and even more apologies if you do manage to redeem it.

Just played this and quite liked it. Thanks for the recommendation. I am only going to count that as one of my four if I can't beat another one in the next week.

Well I didn't set out to beat anything this month, but I just finished OMG Zombies and what a great game it was.  Steam says I sunk 15.5 hours into and I got 11/12 achievements.  The final achievement consists of beating the game 20 times so I won't be getting that one anytime soon, if ever.

I probably spent a good 45 minutes getting the Platinum medal for the last level, but it was worth it.

100 total levels with four medals per level - Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

You have about 6-7 Zombie types and you can upgrade each one as well as your gun and exploding barrels.

I think the game is a perfect mix of randomness and skill.  Platinum is really easy in some stages, but then insanely difficult in others where you have to redo levels over and over until you get just the right zombie and barrel placement and shoot the right zombie.  That's the other thing, you won't beat this just shooting random zombies on the screen.  You have to pick and choose which type you'll shoot and when (since they move around) in order to maximize the effect of each bullet and get the best chain reaction.

I honestly didn't expect to like this as much as I did.  It was relatively cheap and zombies so I said why not.  Looks like this is getting added to my favorites list as I can see myself coming back to this one over and over again for a few levels at a time.

I do the same. Just get them all. Then lose what's left of your integrity by changing no votes to yes on Greenlight.

Anymore any trash will get in and you will regret it later when it does and has cards and everyone else is getting keys and you aren't.

*Edited to add: Though Heroes of a Broken Land actually is pretty decent if you like retro CRPGs. I got that one a while back in an IndieFort (eeww) bundle.

But MOAR CHEEP STEAM GAMEZ and CARDZ

I beat The Graveyard the other day.
The old lady dies in the end.

The messed up thing is there's no way to exit out of the game outside of control alt deleting after that.

ikr? Damned porno people and their generosity.
