Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Yay! More GRIDdies!
If you have a PS3 and +, GRID 2 is a free game for December. Everyone's getting free GRID 2s around here but how many of us will be able to play it? No offense to Ashes but, sim or no, the steering model makes this game gratuitously difficult.
I haven't tried it with a wheel yet, so I can't say for sure. ^_^ I'm just going to wager the wheel is just different. The prolific double apexes could be annoying with a wheel.

I've played a bit of it, and while it definitely takes some getting used to, once I got out of the terrible starting car I found the difficulty manageable and the game rather enjoyable. Also I love all the customization options, which always seems to be where the majority of my time goes in racing games (who cares about driving when I have all these purdy cars?) ^_^
=D I'm happy with GRID's save-this-customization set and apply it to another car.

Yogscast DLC character for Sonic is now available.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/264600

Five dolla y'all.
LOLLLLLLLLL oh man. For some reason I thought it'd be free. People would pay for this shit? who am I kidding, I'll buy it at 75% off

It's very disappointing that the 2nd non-free DLC for the game is Yogscast..

But WAIT, it gets better! In the description of the DLC:

"Yogscast, the UK’s most watched YouTube channel, run an annual charity drive for the month of December."

I'm glad I don't live in the UK, or I'd feel insulted.

If you want to play the GOT mod here is a list of the DLCs that add content to the mod.

http://www.ckiiwiki.com/A_Game_of_Thrones

From the Game of Thrones Mod Wiki:

"Q: What DLC does the mod need/use?"

A: The mod should run fine no matter which DLC is enabled/disabled.
However some of the DLC does add content to the mod, here is an overview:

The Sword of Islam: Adds only the ability for the player to have multiple wives as a character of the Valyrian religion.
Legacy of Rome: Adds castration and blinding capability as well as a couple of flavour events. It does NOT add retinues.
The Republic: Does allow republics to be formed and played, but there are currently no playable republics from the start in any scenario.
The Old Gods: Enables the concubine system for Drowned God followers (Pre-DLC system will be used if not enabled). Also adds much flavour, including beserkers, adventurers, new rebels and runestones. Raiding is available for drowned god and wildlings even without this DLC.
Ruler Designer: Fully compatible with the mod
Dynasty Coat of Arms Pack 1/2: Not used
Mongol Face Pack: Currently used for Dothraki, but only as a placeholder until new portraits are created for them
Music Packs: The mod's soundtrack currently overrides them, however deleting "A Game of Thrones/music/songs.txt" will re-enable vanilla music
African Unit Pack/Portraits: Used for the Summer Islanders
Byzantine Unit Pack: Not used
Mediterranean Portraits: Not used
Russian Unit Pack/Portraits: Not used
Norse Unit Pack/Portraits: Not used
Sunset Invasion: Some Aztecs may appear if enabled...

Due to an awesome trade I just had with r9800pro, and the fact that dtvan already had it, I am giving a Mafia II key away to a thread regular (sorry this time lurkers). Just PM me if you don't have the game. If I don't recognize your name outright, we'll define "regular" to be anyone who's posted in this thread in the last 10 pages (default page listing). Good Luck.

According to one of the devs, they did not choose that price point. Someone at Sega made that call.

I would've been fine with $2.50 since it all goes to charity, but $5? Who are they kidding?

4.99 cmon it should 1.99 for character dlc not 4.99 cmon sega shoulld lower pricee and everyone who has sonic before should get it free im offend

I also won a key for Grid 2 yesterday, but my time was going up at the rate of 1 in game second for every 3-4 real life seconds, and I got sick of sitting around waiting for the time to hit 2:44 on the last picture so I started cleaning some things up and forgot about it.  When I came back to check on it my in game time was over almost 4 minutes, so I had resigned myself to not getting one again, and then the e-mail popped up an hour or so ago!  I'm beginning to think that whoever said they take the 100 slowest times might actually be right.

Wait, why has not one mentioned this yet:

I swear all this off topic banter about Grid and Yogcast DLC is getting out hand, there must be trains order!

Also, Killing Floor Twisted Christmas event is officially back!

Kill zeds for your chance to unlock Baddest Santa and the Zed Gun.  Play two new levels.  Get a new free character if you own The Ball (and we all should own it).

It officially feels like Christmas at Tha Foxxhole!

If you have NEO Scavenger on Desura, you can now get your Steam key by following this:

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=35143366&postcount=1729

OR, you can strip naked, run around a bonfire six times counter-clockwise, and drink the blood of a recently slain love-god.

Well obviously this has been discussed before. But your post gives me a chance to bring up something about that DLC/game that I wanted to mention. And that is that there is a history of the folks behind the Train Simulator releasing special offshoot versions of the game like this, which are only available for a short period of time.

Back during the 2011 Summer sale they released Engine Driver: Drive a Steam Train. And that got yanked from the store shortly after the sale ended. They've also done 2 Trains vs Zombies games which are both now gone from the store.

I would expect the same thing to happen here. I can't say for sure when it will get yanked. But it is at least possible that the game will never actually be listed at the $20 price tag that is supposedly it's base price. If you are at all interested in this, you should grab it now while you have the chance.

Just want to throw this out for discussion...does anybody else feel like Bundlestars has been the best bundle site lately? I mean, Humble has gotten all the attention, and they've landed bigger games. But the last month or so has been fairly weak (Pinball bundle probably being the only exception), and with the new $6 tier, I just don't find myself looking to them as much.

Conversely, Bundlestars pretty much always gives you 8-9 Steam games in the $3-5 range...which just feels like the sweet spot to persuade me to buy things I might only have a casual interest in. Groupees has been doing all right in this regard as well (though, they probably get even lesser known games than Bundlestars). Just something I noticed when I get more excited about a new Bundlestars bundle launching than a new Humble.

I keep forgetting this, but has anyone that bought MouseCraft from the Not on Steam Sale received Steam keys.  I know they later raised the price requirement to get Steam keys, but thought the early adopters were still going to get them.

You know, the first Trains vs. Zombies lasted about a year and I bought it the second year at a discount. TvZ2 was only around for about a year and I think it only ever got a 10% discount before it left and so I never bought it :(

I picked this up at $2.99 for those reasons. Wonder if there's a place off of steam to get TvZ2?

Edit:

Nope, errors out directly on the railsimulator site too.

If it weren't for all the repeats, I would agree. Their latest one was pretty sweet though I must admit and I like the all Steam games approach and the price is pretty decent.

Personally, no. While they have the most 'value' most of the games they offer are pretty meh.

Lemme get that sweet, sweet Serious Sam 3, baby.

Finally won a GRID 2 key with a time of 3:36 yesterday. I intentionally messed up on all three stages and had so many errant clicks. Haha...

I'm starting to think this contest is meant for 5-7 year olds and young teenagers with underdeveloped point and click skills.

But we've cracked the "code" in Codemasters Racing! Success! :D

I do agree, though, that the Humble weeklies are pretty lackluster at the $6 tier.  That said, the 3-4 games that are usually in the $1 tier are often superior than the average game you'd find in Bundlestars.
