I shouldn't have to. I have two valid copies of XP, but only one (OEM) disc. I should be able to transfer the other product key over to the laptop while said system isn't being used. But I can't do that, because for some reason that Key is said to be 'invalid.' Bullshit, I just looked it up on that computer. So, I had to install with a generic OEM key. Of course, I can't activate that or even change my ID to the valid one.
My laptop runs so much better with XP installed (boots up under a minute versus Ubuntu which was about five), but their activation is shit.
Unfortunately, I think I would rather reinstall every 30 days than go back to Ubuntu. If I can get a larger HDD, I'll probably dual-boot, just to have that backup there.
