The Rockville TRU had 3 MP Grimlocks today for the $77 price. Wonder if anyone bit. They also had another Darkmount.

Also stopped into the Fair Lakes shopping center in Virginia. Walmart had a Hunt for the Decepticons TF with a name I wasn't expecting to get reused - Banzaitron. And the name on the package was "Decepticon Banzaitron", though I doubt there was any kind of trademark issue like there is with "Autobot Jazz". Target had a Darkmount, but nothing else beyond wave 1. The TRU there still had the $70 price for MP Grimlock, and had about 30 of them. No Animated Rodimus or Ironhide, they did have Darkmount and a couple Generations Red Alert (picked up one).

Seems people in Orlando are already finding Generations Dirge and Blurr at Target so they should be hitting everywhere soon.

It seems Wave 4 is starting to hit the shelves already and damn it, I still can't even find Wave 2. I just want a damn Straxus (Darkmount)!!

I saw on TFW2005 people are finding new stuff in my area (Tampa) but by the time I make it there (like tonight) the shelves have been emptied out of anything worthwhile. Am I the only one having this problem here? It seems nobody else is having any difficulty finding any new figures.

I bought a Sea Attack Ravage just to not make the trip a huge waste of time and gas but damn it I don't even know what the hell it's vehicle form is supposed to be!

Fairlakes TRU sucks for anything. Did they still have the 10-15 animated Cybertron Ratchets which somehow never had the Arcee's accompany them?

Are you from the northern VA? I'll keep you in mind if I find anything you might be interested in.

If you don't have that Human Alliance Skids, get it. It's a great figure, and I enjoyed it at it's 30.00 retail, let alone Amazon's price.

Still nothing past the wave that had WFC Prime and Bee around here. I don't know why my stores are always so damned far behind.

The worst part is some stores in my area further out are as far as Wave 4 yet the stores local to me still have Wave 1.

I hit up *another* different Wal-Mart from yesterday for Wave 2 + of Generations and all I found was Wave 1 of the deluxe movie and scout (and a TON of Mudflaps and Gears from the early line) and Generations Bumblebee.

I ended up getting PCC Smolder (woo fire truck) and scout Hubcap. Hubcap is pretty bitchin at least. I always try to buy at least something to make the trip something more than a complete waste of time, gas and sanity.

Three Wal-Mart's and one K-Mart in a week and nothing but Wave 1 for me. The TFW 2005 Florida sightings thread people are finding stuff everywhere else (Orlando, Gainesville, Brandon)... so it's just a problem with my local stores. The one semi close to me that did get stuff in I got to it too late and it was already ravaged by people in my area. Ravaged as in one guy bought one of each figure, another guy went after and did the same and that was that.

I'm starting to think it's the deluge of Gears, Skids and Mudflap and those other peg warmers from ROTF that are making stores not put stock out or order more... and Hasbro is making REPAINTS of the same very same figures! Stupidest move ever.

From now I'll just order off HTS or BBTS, I'm done with this I think. The "hunt" for figures is damned stupid.

I have to agree with your sentiment. It's getting old.

I probably don't want to know how much time and gas money I spent last year on fruitless searches (although a lot of them were probably due to #%#$#ing Arcee). If I never see another Tuner Mudflap, it will be too soon.

TRU, at least, has shown that it can roll out the same product in all of its stores at the same time. Too bad it's always with exclusives that only the diehard actually want, like the Demolishor/Twins set.

As frustrating as the "hunt" can be sometimes I still refuse to buy from re-sellers and gougers like BBTS and Ebay. At worst I'll buy it from ToysRUs or HasbroToyShop and pay the extra shipping, otherwise I'll just go without it. Places like BBTS and Ebay are the ones who are creating the problem in the first place with having to hunt for figures so buying from them only perpetuates the cycle.

Didn't realize this post was so long... sorry =/

I just paid $53.99 + $9 shipping for the entire Wave 2 and Wave 3 Generations figures at BBTS. Megatron, Soundwave, Red Alert and Darkmount. It ends up being $15.50 for each figure... that's $2 more per figure just counting cost + tax... that's not even counting gas. That is hardly gouging.

You can preorder the first Deluxe 2011 wave for $58 after shipping. That's $14 a figure. Again, not really gouging there, because you'll spend that extra $1 in gas just trying to get the figures.

BBTS gets cases of figures directly from the same places the B&M stores do so they aren't creating a problem like the Ebay resellers are. They are just another retailer, one like Target or Wal-Mart, who Hasbro is on good terms with because they gave them the Seacons set as an exclusive. The staff of BBTS isn't stalking the aisles of your local Wal-Mart or Target snatching shit up like Ebay sellers are and trying to make a profit on every single figure. In fact, they seem to get every figure before most other retailers even put the stuff out.

The only reason some figures are more expensive than others is because they are the only new figures in a case full of stuff they already have too many of. Blurr and Dirge are $35 to preorder without shipping, which is expensive, but then you realize the rest of Wave 4 is just more figures they already have too many of so they adjust the costs. So you pay higher for Dirge and Blurr because BBTS will probably eat the costs of yet more Megatron's and Soundwave's.

I mean, you can't damn BBTS and praise TRU.. that's kind of ridiculous. TRU is guilty of the same shit like raising the cost of their exclusives. Grimlock went from $60 to $70 and I've seen people say some TRU's even have it for $76 now. Their exclusive animated deluxes jumped from $13 to $15.. just because they were TRU exclusive.

If I passed on figures I couldn't find I might as well stop collecting since BBTS is the one of the only retailers to list this stuff up on their website. I never used to use them either (but got turned on through them by other collectors in my area) but now I'm glad they exist. Hasbro is planning on rolling out another wave of figures in November (the Cliffjumper wave along with the Jazz / Tracks wave) and my stores are still peg warming Wave 1? fuck that. When they couldn't get out Wave 2 through 4 I have no confidence they can get out Wave 5. No one is causing this problem in my stores except the stores themselves and when they do finally put shit out, other collectors ravage (ha!) the aisles because they are starved for new figures.

I know other TF fans in my area haven't found jack shit either after months of looking and are jumping on the BBTS ship. I'll pay extra to be guaranteed a figure then pump that money into gas and come home empty handed. I know other people who have problems (like Blandstalker) should look into BBTS and see if paying slightly extra is worth it compared to getting nothing.

HTS will be my first choice but unfortunately I get charged instantly from them when I preorder and they sell out of figures super quick.

Emeryville, Ca The old Babys R' Us has been turned into the TRU/BRU combo store. Aisles are stocked with toys. Reminded me so much of the old days:cry: Anywho there was at least 3 sets of Rodimus minor and Ironhide on the pegs. I thought about picking them up but I found Drift instead. No wave 2 of the generations though.
Honestly I would have picked up Rodimus Minor if I were you. That's one figure many are having a hard time finding.
Is the one your talking about the animates series one? I always see that one every time I check for transformers.

Well if someones looking for one I'll go back and grab it for them for cost plus shipping. Other then that I'm not looking to grab one and make money off of it.

Generations Blurr and Dirge are have been restocked (well, available for pre-order) at Hasbrotoyshop.com.

Use coupon code "alltoy15" to save 15% on your order.

They ship in 8 to 10 business days.

They have actually restocked all of the Generations figures (they were originally sold out of Soundwave and one of the others last I checked), so if you are missing any now is the time to get them. They restocked Teradive and Tomahawk as well. No Hailstorm, though.

Just grabbed Blurr, Dirge, Tomahawk and Terradive for $51 shipped... at $13 a figure this is a good deal. Don't forget the coupon code!

I think I'm finally caught up on all the waves currently out.

FYI The Hub channel is live as of yesterday (used to be Discovery Kids) and they will be premiering Transformers Prime sometime soon, but they are also showing the 1984 Transformers series, starting today at 9pm. Check your TV guides for actual times in your area ;)

Thanks for the heads up and coupon! Only thing they didn't have I wanted was Hailstorm, but I've seen pics of a repaint that I think looks better (forget the name) so I can wait on that. Also, still no Scout stealth bomber (don't know the name), the one that interacts with Mindwipe. Haven't seen it in stores either :(

Didn't really count the number of Ratchets, just looked at the side of cards for Ironhide.

I currently live in Columbia, MD, but work in Tysons Corner and am starting to house hunt in the area to cut down my commute (Sterling to Leesburg, Tysons / Vienna / McLean proper is too expensive). Thanks for offering another pair of eyes.

A little accident filming the new TF movie in DC today :

http://www.wtopnews.com/?nid=25&sid=2075926

I enjoyed watching Men in Black and Batman Beyond on the Hub yesterday, wish they would air Transformers and G.I. Joe as frequently.

That would be Skystalker. No one -- not HTS, not TRU -- ever stocked it online. I also never saw it at retail...until I came to Canada.

If you only care about the mold, it is being rereleased as HFTD Sunspot.

If you want Skystalker itself, next time you're at TRU, check the ROTF scouts. Here, they have bins (plural) of scouts, all $5, and there are still Skystalkers to be had.

The repainted Hailstorm is coming as Mindset... he is coming as soon as November, if you can believe it.

In November Hasbro is dropping:

Special Ops Jazz
Turbo Tracks
Mindset (Hailstorm repaint)
Fallback (Brawn repaint)

Cliffjumper (WfC Bumblebee repaint with a new head)
Skullgrin (Darkmount repaint with a new head)
Thunderwing

Grapple (Voyager class)
Lugnut (Voyager class made to fit into the movieverse)

Probably some scouts... BBTS says Windcharger is due out in November. I think Sunspot is already out? Not on the HTS though he is on BBTS.

New Power Core Combiner stuff.

I imagine HTS will very soon start taking preorders for all of this stuff so keep checking if you're interested. Once they put it up I'll put it here if no one else does.

Hasbro is really rolling out a ton of stuff all at once, but I think this will end up being the last release for 2010.

Yes and no actually. Anything that is a regular release from the toy companies is purchased directly by BBTS. Now, with regard to store exclusives though, they certainly have teams of people out at stores buying them up. They're pretty infamous around the MN Transformers collecting circle for their wiping out of stores. I've never personally had in any run-ins with their buyers at a store but there are a few people on the Minnesota thread on TFW that have had run-ins with them.

So yeah, for the majority of the country BBTS aren't scalpers but for those of us in MN, they're definitely a thorn in our side.

In that case, then yea, I gotta agree with you but they jack the prices of those exclusives up so far that that it's not even worth getting from them, haha. I just stick to them for stuff I miss out on through HTS and Japanese stuff.

Thanks for the heads up, I know what to avoid through them in terms of store exclusives so as to not support that practice.

I'm real tempted to pull the trigger on this though:

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=TAK10983&mode=retail

Dark Skyfire for $47.50. Haven't read a bad review yet, only downside was the high price most of the retailers put on it.

Well, that was fun.

HTS says they ship to Canada, so I loaded up my cart with HTFD, Generations, and Battle Blades Optimus & Banzaitron. Shipping was going to be outrageous, but since prices for toys here are so much higher, it was still worth it.

Got all the way to the end, and it says they can't ship to Canada right now because of improvements to the system. WTF. Thanks a lot, HTS. Last couple of years, you've done nothing but disappoint.

Also wanted to add Power Core Combiners are at Wal-Mart for $15 a set right now.

I grabbed Double Clutch and the Rallybots and while these guys aren't perfect they aren't as horrible as some say (imo). They definitely aren't up to par with the rest of the figures Hasbro has been releasing, that's for sure.

I say, for $15, it's worth getting a set (though I'd probably stick for the Wave 2 guys personally). It doesn't look nearly as shitty combined as it did in the preview shots.

I doubt I'll get any more of these but for $15 I was curious enough to see how they were.

I can order a transformer online for $15.78-this is including tax and shipping. This does not sound so bad right? I think they are 12.99 in the store+tax. I do like to physically pick them up myself though.
But this way I can be sure to get it for my son. I wonder if they will have any sales on Transformers at TRU before the holidays so maybe I should wait.( Though I never see any new toys there)

Speaking of picking up in person, anyone else love the launch of a new line for that reason? Going to the store and guaranteeing that they have new figs you don't have, loading up a shopping cart, and walking out with bags of new TFs? Love it!

I've bitten the bullet and just preordered everything I wanted from BBTS. Tired of driving around and only seeing Wave 1 figures. Here's what I got so far:

Jazz
Tracks
WfC Cliffjumper
Skullgrin
Thunderwing
Windcharger
Trailbreaker
Grapple

And as soon as they start listing the rest of the G1 inspired Generations figures I'll snatch those up too.

Also have Fansproject Protector Armor and Sidearm. Lucked out on Labor Day and managed to get an order in for Shadow Scyther too, but that's to sell later and help increase my funds for a Fortress Maximus.

^^^

I'm gonna wait on HTS to list them up (which should be soonish) to grab them from there. I don't want the full cases (I could do without Skullgrin and no way was I paying $19 for Windcharger) so it'll be a lot cheaper to pick and choose, especially with the 15% off at HTS.

My Wave 2 and 3 Generations figs will be here Friday from BBTS and I couldn't be more excited. Local K-Mart today still had pegs of Mudflap, Skids, Gears and then Sea Attack Ravage and Ironhide.

Can't say I do as the stores here are so jammed full of pegwarmers that they don't even bother to put the new stuff out even when the lines change. You just keep making those Skids and Mudflaps though, Hasbro. Let's make some more Bumblebees while you're at it too.

I honestly only started seeing Wave 1 Generations last month!

An extra $2 to be guaranteed a figure I want is a very easy decision personally. I'll put $2 into my gas tank alone figure hunting so this way I free up time and I don't need to worry about squaring off against other collectors, fans and resellers. These people know like clockwork when these stores restock, haha.

With Windcharger, as soon as I see it up somewhere cheaper, it's getting ordered there and the BBTS preorder canceled. It's just a safety net to guarantee I get the figure more than anything else.

All I know is that the next few months are going to be expensive.

Especially is TFClub sneak their Constructicons in there somewhere. Wish we knew a price for that thing so I could start saving.

Oh, and I meant to add that if anybody is still looking for MP Grimlock there are still like 4-5 at the TRU near me. Didn't think I would ever see him shelfwarming.

Ah yes, my girlfriend and I were at walmart one night as they were putting out animated for the first time. I was in heaven, I still have fond memories of sorting through everything trying to decide what I really wanted because I pretty much had my pick of everything from wave 1.

Big Bad Toy Store is having a 15% off storewide sale.. the only things that don't qualify are items labeled as new and preorder / backorder stuff.

A lot of good deals in their clearance section:

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/content.aspx?content=18

I picked up Dark Skyfire for only $40... this is cheaper than he costs in Japan at this point.

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?mode=retail&product=TAK10983

I also grabbed a Frenzy and Ravage bust for the low price of $12.74, couldn't pass that up.

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?mode=retail&product=DMC10894

Lots of other good stuff in there... some ROTF deluxe's like Blazemaster and Stealth Bumblebee for under $5.

I also grabbed Animated Blurr sealed for $18 and Universe Galvatron sealed for $12.

Good news (for me), I found an Animated Ironhide. Bad news, it was at the Rockville TRU, and they're still up to pricing shenanigans. The Animated deluxes were marked at $14.49, though the movie and Generations deluxes were still $12.99. Took it up to the register, and it rang up at $16.49. I told the cashier it was marked $14.49 back on the peg, she asked me if it was $14.99, because a number of $14.99 items went up to $16.49. I said no, its price had been $12.99, but that apparently went up. She said she believed me on the $14.49 price, and didn't bother to check the aisle. That was the only Ironhide they had, rest was Ratchets and a single Oil Slick

Now that I have an Ironhide, I think this pretty much guarantees I'll find at least one Ironhide at the opening of the new Columbia, MD, TRU tomorrow. The question will be, at what price. I just hope I find some post wave 1 Generations figures.

If anyone is in the Columbia, MD, area, they have a coupon for $5 off a $25 purchase from 10/15-10/19.

I found Transformers Animated Rodimus Minor and a Darkmount today. Still looking for WFC Megatron and Soundwave. Is Darkmount a good figure? I don't really know much about that figure.
I found Transformers Animated Rodimus Minor and a Darkmount today. Still looking for WFC Megatron and Soundwave. Is Darkmount a good figure? I don't really know much about that figure.
Darkmount is a pretty cool figure. A fairly complex and unique transformation. He's based off Straxus, a character from the Marvel Comics series that ran the Smelting Pool on Cybertron.

Plus, he has a wicked looking pick axe!

Thanks, I will keep it and give it to my son to add to his collection. The generations line are similar to the way Universe line figures were? Older characters? Besides the ones from WFC of course.

I remember someone here wanted a Deluxe Hailstorm... Wal-Mart online has posted a ton of Deluxe's for $9.00.

Every Wave 1 Generations fig is $9, along with some ROTF and HftD figs includes the entire Wave 2 of the Hunt for the Decepticons line.

Hailstorm, Elita-1 and Sidearm Sideswipe are all $9 and can be shipped to the store to pick up there to negate shipping costs.

Here's the full list!

http://www.walmart.com/search/searc...+deluxe&ic=48_0&Find=Find&search_constraint=0

21 Deluxe's in all are $9. Time for me to finally get a Hailstorm :D

Also you can now order Sunspot and Highbrow at the Hasbro Toy Shop.
Is Animated Ironhide worth getting if I already have Animated Ratchet?
Depends if you like the character and the mold.

I'm a huge Ironhide fan and the new head was enough to sway me into getting one. I enjoy the mold used as well. It really boils down to your preference.

I just looked at some pics of Ironhide he looks nice. Maybe I will go back and pick him up, but it will be another $15 for him. Is this the only animated Ironhide figure made I think so? I have both Ratchets. My son has all the animated transformers except for a few such as the second soundwave, and maybe something else. But if this is the only Ironhide I should go get it for him. I wish the show never was cancelled, he liked it.

A little off-topic but the new channel The Hub shows Transformers G1 episodes in HD from Mon. to Thurs. at midnight. It is glorious.

Yep, only one we'll see of him.

And if they didn't cancel Animated how else could they get everyone to rebuy all their figures again? ;)

I've actually never even seen an episode of the show... the figures are fantastic though. Too bad Hasbro slammed the line with repaint after repaint.
Still looking for WFC Megatron .
http://www.walmart.com/ip/TRA-DLX-GENERATION-MEGATRON/14170000

Wal-Mart just listed WFC Megatron this morning on their website... he's only $9 and shipping is free if you ship to the store or $1.97 extra to ship to your house.

After tax he ends up being *cheaper* than what he costs in the store. You'll end up paying $11 and change total. Deluxe's usually start at $11.99 at most retail stores.

They also added Darkmount if anyone still needs him, same price.

Not sure how long these prices will last (I don't think they will keep new figures discounted to $9 forever) so I'd grab sooner rather than later.

Thank you so much for letting me know. My son is sure to be a happy kid this holiday. This is the one toy he has been asking for since he heard about it. He watches the video reviews about it. I got it sent to my house, I did not feel like having to go to the store and waiting, for some reason the customer service line is always very very long!

As I expected, the new Columbia TRU had not one, but 2 Animated Ironhides this morning. 3 Animated Rodimus as well, all on the same peg. They were still priced at $12.99, while the movie and Generations deluxes were $11.99. Didn't pick anything up, place was a bit nutty (shouldn't kids have been in school?) and I needed to get to work.

If I find Soundwave online at a bargain price I will let you know! I know from your posts you've been searching for a long time for both of these figures.

If worst comes to worst Soundwave is avaliable here:

Shipping is $6 but you can take 15% off your order by using Alltoy15. This is Hasbro's official online store so you should have no problems ordering from them.

Ok are there still Masterpiece Grimlocks in the Wild? Because I just got some extra birthday cash and I really want one bad, but I refuse to pay scalper prices

Of course today I see Megatron in the store, for 9.99 which basically is the same price I paid 9.00 +97 cents shipping Oh well! I did not see soundwave though, I picked up red alert. I hope my son likes him, he has sunstreaker and sideswipe. Is this red alert the same mold as them?
I tried and I couldnt get it to work, but I didnt really see any "scouts" that I liked besides some yellow jeep.
hmmm, i was gonna say just get the original but i see the prices are higher...i may have to start selling some of my G1 transformers;)
Ok are there still Masterpiece Grimlocks in the Wild? Because I just got some extra birthday cash and I really want one bad, but I refuse to pay scalper prices
Yep, there are still 3-4 at the TRU near me (at least there were Saturday). Let me know if you'd like me to grab one for you. it would just be at price + tax + shipping.

Here's my feedback from TFW2005 so you'll know I won't run off with your dosh and spend it on cheap booze and even cheaper women.

I went to Target today to look for Lego sales and I stopped by the Transformers aisle to see what they had. I saw a lone WFC Megatron for $9.99. I know you guys have been looking for it, so I picked it up.

I'll give it up for price + tax + shipping if anybody wants it. Or you can pick it up in MA :)
