Events your store may be doing... Call ahead of time to make sure.

Event: "Gears of War Preview" Select stores will be staying open late on 10-21 in order to show off Gears of War for the Xbox 360. The showing will start at 9 PM and last approximately 15-20 minutes from what I can tell.

Event: "Final Fantasy XII Costume Contest & Midnight Opening" Some stores may end up doing a costume contest for the release of Final Fantasy XII. Participants may dress up as any Final Fantasy character of their choosing (Prizes may be available, although I'm not to sure about it). Some stores may also be participating in a midnight opening for Final Fantasy XII.

I think I've covered everything that is available this time around. If anyone discovers that something is missing, please post in the thread or the even better bet is to PM me so I can add to the list accordingly.
Sorry if this has already been brought up, but I didn't feel like searching through 30 pages...

I went to Walmart, Compusa and Kmart in search of $1 (or thereabouts) games to use for this deal, but to no avail. Is there any place that for sure would have some uber-clearance games, or is it all YMMV?
YMMV
I realize most of you are interested in the trade 3 deal, but apparently the DS Lite trade-in deal is dead, or at least YMMV. Instead of $60 credit like their ad and website promise, they offered my $40 for my original DS. I said no thanks and put it on ebay.
my local store never even had this deal... but this happen to anyone else.??

do the trade 3 get $10 extra and 20% "power trade" stack?

moreover does the twilight princess deal apply to both wii and gc versions?

Stacked for me. I got 30% with the EDGE card and got that on top of my 3 for additional $10 credit.

YMMV. It just depends on if the employee you get wants to be cool or not, but it's quite surprising the number of employees that don't mind giving you both deals, as well as the extra 10% from the More/Edge card.

I was able to trade in doubles and triples from K-Mart (about 30 games), and was able to stack the 3 for $10.00, 10% edge card, and the 30% GI coupon for the "Gears of War" pre-order. I turned about $64.00 in games with money out of pocket to about $228.00 in store credit.

i have a ton of updates for the wiki, but ill have to wait till the deal ends to post them, just in case someones watching this thread lol.

My K-mart has a 3-pak PS2 game for $10. IIRC it has Pinball Hall of Fame and Pro Bass Fishing in it. So it could turn into a $3 + $3 + $? + $10 bonus trade-in. Not bad.

I saw that same one too... I didn't think EB would take any of that shit in though, and hit me with the "These are sports games" nonsense, and I'd be stuck with three shit games for $10.

The other game is Strike Force Bowling, which isn't on the Wiki.

If it also got $3, you'd get over $20 for the three of them when you apply the 10% from the Edge... that's not bad, doubling your money.

Holy shit. I hope I get my GI before Sunday. I'd love to get 40% extra when I do another Zelda preorder.

My ebgames took these no prob and I also got 3 for each b4 bonus. I also asked the employee how long the bonus deal would last and he said it should go past the month...maybe they will extened the deal, IDK.

EDIT: strike force bowling = 2.00 b4 bonus
Will EB/GS accept Disc only games w/out charging you a fee of some sort?
Most will, unless you get a stiffy manager.

So i went to trade in some games at local GameStop.
However, i was surprised to find Discount Card was NOT STACKABLE!

The sales guy seemed like an ass so i didn't care much but i just don't understand why he wouldn't allow it. Any others with similar experience??

XBOX - Halo 2 Regular - $12
XBOX - Burnout Revenge - $7
XBOX - Ghost Recon 2 Summit Strike - $6

You should have bought a used game and used your card because computer automatically adds the extra 10% for the tradeins (even with the extra $10 for each 3) while discounting the used game you bought. Then if you got a used game you didn't want just return it the next day.

Would you reccomend that I trade in these Games?
Gauntlet Dark Legacy(PS2)
The Getaway(PS2)
Odd World Munches Oddysee(XbX)
POP:SOT:(XBX)
Psi-Ops(XBX)
Top Spin/NCAA 2005)XBX)

Damn, fortunately I found a bunch more Kmart games because the price of the Wii keeps going up every few days :bomb: (Latest news is that component cables are not included and the only price we have, though hopefully an inflated one, is the MadCatz ones on Gamestop's web site for $60).

I had better be able to use all this credit on the Wii (ie, be able to buy one from EB) though. I guess even if I can't that's cool, because I've got all the games I'd want for it for the first 6-12 months already paid for with my existing (soon to be increased) credit.
...were you seriously expecting component cables to be included?
Would have been nice with all this talk of 480p. But yeah, I'm just hoping even if this preorder mess goes through, eventually I'll be able to get a console with my credit. Otherwise I will have 2007s new releases secured with no cash out of pocket. :D
...were you seriously expecting component cables to be included?
Well, uh, yeah - not initially, but after the links on CAG to reports that they were included (and when I remained skeptical and mentioned that I HOPED they were included people would say they were like it was common knowledge). Now it looks like it is still up in the air, but leaning towards not being included. And why shouldn't they be included? The Xbox 360 included them - seems kind of standard now. And I bet most Xbox 360 owners aren't hooked to HD either (after all, even some non-HD TVs can benefit from component).

The best thing, of course, would be a standard compound cable that included composite and component, like the 360 cable. That can't be too freaking expensive for Nintendo - given the $250 price and their hyping of 480p/widescreen games they ought to throw it in.
Go for it, you can probably rebuy them all for half that amount in a few months.
my thoughts exactly. You would probably only want a few of them anyways.
I got a question. Has anyone been trading in those old First party Gamecube games? I was collecting them all but i dunno anymore. Most of them just collect dust and its fun accumulating credit lol.

Yeah, I'm still keeping all of mine. Why? I don't know.. but I like looking at them on my shelf.

I meant to post this earlier... Last Saturday, I traded in the following, all prices are before extra $10 and 10% Edge:

Kingdom Hearts PS2 - $9
Wipeout Fusion PS2 - $1
Friends: The One With All the Trivia PS2 - $6
Burnout Legends DS - $8
Dragon Ball Z - Supersonic Warriors 2 DS - $9
Sprung DS - $1.50

I got a total of $59.93 after bonuses, pretty much what I paid for them all combined.

Go for it! :)

I'm kinda in the same boat as you, it was fun collecting them but eventually, it just doesn't seem worth it unless you really love it. I don't think any of the old first party GC games are rare, expensive or anything, so you wouldn't have trouble picking them up again if you ever get the urge to play them.

NOTES

-
No new info on pre-orders for PS3 or Wii, only thing mentioned was a new section dedicated for those systems in the store, but nothing important.

-There might be a few more deals, I didn't get to see the full list, but I will add to main post if I find out of any.

Wow. If the GameStop/EB trade-in to pre-order system gets implemented, this will be of much help to those who want to pre-order there. Definite good news and luck, either that or GameStop/EB is doing some damage control. XD

And since its extended... maybe I can unload more games unto them.

It can be ymmv with a Tony Hawk. I've had one store refused to take my THUG 2 towards the promo because it's "a sports game", but another store didn't mind.

My vote is going towards Damage control. :) I just wish I knew for sure when pre-orders is because I was planning on unloading a bunch before this week ended just to get credit.

This is excellent news (for the extension), since I do not have to load up all my games to trade in this Sunday.

Trade in a working Xbox and pay $320 for premium? Hmmm... Tempting.

On the trading in 2 360 games for a new or used game for 9.99, has anyone used that to pre-order a game? I got a pair of games i'd like to trade in but nothing is out at the moment that i'd like, so just wondering if I could pre-order instead.
Does anyone know if Tony Hawk games count towards 3 for 10?
As others have stated I would also have to say YMMV for the simple fact that the Tony Hawk series is listed under "Sports" on the website. If it is listed on the website in this category I'm pretty sure it is also in-store.

Nice. Coupled with the clearances and such, I can get more of the newest stuff for less w/o waiting for price drops.

My Gamestop let me trade in Tony Hawk 3 for this deal, but one of the employees didn't think it would count. Fortunately an employee (could have been the manager) stepped in and said he wouldn't consider it a sports game.
I assume Top Spin 2 is considered a "2006 sports title?"
Top Spin 2 should work, only sports game excluded are the EA ones or 2K sports. Fight Night Round 3 should work also. Basically any game with the 2006 title in it will not work.
so how much credit is given for an xbox? about $80?
only $80 if its towards the 360, otherwise it normally gets $50 if it works and $20 if its broken.
Trade in a working Xbox and pay $320 for premium? Hmmm... Tempting.
That would be tempting for me...if I had an XBox.
