Wal-Mart 360 Mistake! Black Controllers & Batteries on Clearance YMMV

I stopped into my local Wal-Mart last night and they had half an aisle in electronics with clearance items. To my surprise they had a peg with black xbox360 wireless controllers and another with black rechargable battery packs. The controllers were not marked so I had the kid scan one for me......$20! Bought one and a battery pack for $26. I asked why they were on clearance and he said because those SKU's werent on their planogram so they have to put them on clearance. I wish I had the money on me to buy them all, I could have made some money.

Mine had these black controllers too but were tagged at the clearance price of 49.99ish, or whatever walmart uses as the last two digits. Red tag and everything. Maybe I should go back and see if it scans at a different price.

man thats like 4 hours away. if it was like an hour i would definately go there.

Battery packs (white and black) are clearanced at $8 at the Johnstown, PA walmart. They also have Nintendo wi-fi adapters for $27 and first-party gamecube controllers for ~$15.

Confirmation: I bought a Black Wireless controller in Midwest City, Oklahoma for $40. Not the pure $20 awesome of the OP, but not bad. I don't have an Elite (yet), but I picked one up for later. They had Play and Charge packs for $18, but uh, that's not really a deal, so I passed.
2 hrs away from me. How many did they have left?
they had 2 left after i bought mine
$20 and you only bought one?
i would have bought them all if i had the cash on me

My WalMart had the 120 Gig drive (four of them) for $105, black controller w/ charge stand for $33, battery packs for $5.50, and 512 Meg card for $25.

Same at my Wal mart they also had PSP media manger for 15.00 and Nintendo WiFi adapter for 20.00

Went to 2 Wal Marts in the Baltimore, MD area. No clearance items at all in Black, or white for that matter. Man my Wal Mart sucks

I work at wal-mart, and here's the deal:

These are all new items for the new "modulars"(basically just the plan for how everything is set up). If the new mod isn't set yet, almost all new items show up as DELETED in the computer system. What's likely happened is these stores haven't set their mods, and their employees are morons(not like that's surprising), so they see the item is deleted, and even though they've never seen it before and the shipping label specifically says it's "NEWMODWK##", they clearance it out.

So this is definitely going to be YMMV, but I'm sure it happens alot, and probably worth checking out.

But, this also means any items that Wal-mart isn't carrying anymore(the entire electronics department is getting reset) are going to be on clearance. Clearance is a store-to-store basis, though, so prices will vary.

My walmart had the black wireless xbox 360 controller with a recharge thing for $55.They also had a shitload of Wii Plays w/ the Wiimote for $30 a couple days ago and they had the sony media manager for $10 and it even had a USB cable.

Checked 3 walmarts in San Diego:

Lemongrove- bought some 512mb memory cards and snagged a gaming receiver. $25 for the ram and $10 for the wireless gaming receiver for windows. Did not see any controllers.

Chula Vista/National City (the one by best buy)- Nothin

National City (Highland ave)- Batteries were 10 bucks, charge kit was 17 and black controllers were 47. No deal.

Did not check other walmarts yet in San Diego.

Let me add- the items all had prices on the packaging, and prices matched what they went for, so there wouldn't be any real mistakes.

Gonna hit 3 other walmarts this afternoon.

No go at the Wilmington, DE Wal-Mart. There pretty much isn't any clearance section anywhere electronics (except a few TVs), and all controllers/batteries/etc. in both black and white are in a glass cabinet, with msrp-looking price stickers.

If you can get one of the HDDs, I will pay for it and shipping and a little more for being awesome!

What location did you go to? THATS SOME GOOD PRICES!!!

I picked these up at the store in Hallendale, FL about 2 weeks ago and just assumed it was a one store deal. Guess not.

I picked up ..

2 Black Wireless Controllers for $20.00 each
2 Black Play and Charge Kit w/ battery $8.00 each

They also had the the Nintendo WiFi adapter for $12.00 as well as both versions of SingStar w/ mic for PS2 at $15.00 each.

Wish I could have found some of these things at the Corinth, TX store; instead, I ended up getting MGS3: Subsistence and Custom Robo Arena for $15 a pop. Wasn't too bad, but it would have been nice to find some 360 accessories (either that, or I more than likely looked in the wrong place).

$15 for MGS3: Subsistence sounds good to me. I'm heading to two New Jersey Walmarts tomorrow so hopefully I have something good to report about.
