Sounds like Evolve with a campy 80's horror theme and worse graphics. If it interests you I'd pick it up on disc at launch and ditch it before the playerbase tanks (you'll get burned on TiV for sure, but maybe only $30).

Finished the first indie game I got from this ID@Xbox sale - Lifeless Planet. Gotta say I'm a tad disappointed. Took me about 6 hours to finish but it coulda been trimmed to half that. The 1st hour is great with intrigue and a sense of mystery on the planet, but that soon gives way to it becoming a chore cause of all the platforming. It really does drag the game down when you have to travel one minute across the environment to flip a switch, then hoof it 3-4 minutes back cause some rock fell. That happens way too often. Padding the game made me want the darn thing to end so I could get to conclusion of the story. Sadly, I didn't like the story much either. So much promise in the beginning, then it just sputters the remaining 3/5 of the game.

Soundtrack was good and the feeling of being on a "lifeless planet" was there, so if you go in knowing its a platformer with a decent story, its worth $6. I just needed a little something more I guess *shrugs*

If the movie Martian, was an indie film, then kinda. I can see the direction the guy was going for(one dude practically made the entire game; very cool), but the boring, infinite jumps and lack of polish in the cutscenes TOTALLY suck you out of the story. Shame.....coulda been really good

Gun Media doesn't have nearly the marketting or distribution presence that 2k Games does, and while not an immediate death sentence there's a reason you don't see many MP focused indie games. If you can't keep thousands of people playing your game every day, you can't sustain multiple playlists without the queue times getting so high that players get frustrated and give up. If you can't maintain multiple playlists, the playerbase will complain of boredom and will get frustrated and give up. Evolve gets crapped on for having a low playerbase every time it goes on sale, reinforcing the downward spiral of it's playerbase.

Add to that the fact that asymmetrical gameplay doesn't have as big of a draw as traditional multiplayer, and you have a pretty good recipe for a game that will only provide the user with the intended experience for the first few months after release while it's the hot new thing.

Will the aesthetic differences between monster hunters and 80's slasher villians be enough to overcome a weaker distribution and advertising budget? Will the campground environment be more interactive and/or interesting to traverse than the maps in Evolve? Will more players be interested in being weak and skulking around than being overpowered killing machines? Seems doubtful to me.

I have the same problem. If I set it to Instant On, it has the check box for "When Xbox is off, turn off storage.", but that doesn't seem to do anything. The HDD is still humming away and the light blinks when the Xbox One is off. Plus having the Instant On means the power supply will also be on all of the time. White light and the fan spinning even when the Xbox One is off.

I think I'm just going to get a separate power strip for my Xbox One and just flip that off when I'm finished playing.

I guess I could just unplug it from the wall instead.

I have a WD 2TB Black My Passport Ultra Portable External Hard Drive - USB 3.0 (USB powered).

I have to set mine to energy saving to fully turn off my external hdd. If the power goes out the activity led will be on until I restart my console and shut down again.

The official Netflix US & Canada YouTube channel began streaming a full trailer for Voltron: Legendary Defender, a reimagining of the 1980s animated Voltron project which will stream exclusively on the Netflix service on June 10.

Executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos, executive producer Lauren Montgomery, and writer Tim Hedrick — all of whom had worked together on Avatar the Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra — announced the cast at their panel at WonderCon in Los Angeles in March:

The character known as Sven in the first Voltron television series was originally named Takashi Shirogane in King of Beasts Golion, the original anime series that was adapted as Voltron.

Studio Mir (The Legend of Korra) is animating the new series.

The serialized story will focus on five teenagers named Keith, Lance, Hunk, Pidge, and Shiro. The heroes must defend Arus from King Zarkon's evil alien force. Unlike most of the characters from the original series, the main characters will have backstories and a purpose for going on the mission. The series will also have a Princess Allura, who Montgomery explained will be more realistic and "certainly not fainting at Every Little Thing that overwhelms her."

Montgomery added that, in the story, "Not everything is solved by Voltron alone. Sometimes they need to beat something just as the lions. Sometimes they just do it as themselves fighting as men." Dos Santos indicated at the Wondercon panel that the Voltron robot will not necessarily appear in all 13 episodes of the first season.

The series is part of an expansion of Dreamworks Animation Television and Netflix's 2013 multi-year deal.

Lion Forge Comics will publish a comic spinoff for the series.

World Events Productions, Ltd. (WEP) and the late Peter O'Keefe adapted the first 1984-1985 Voltron television series from two Toei Animation robot anime: King of Beasts Golion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. Both Golion and the first Voltron story centered on young pilots who fight against an empire of alien conquerors — with the help of five mechanized lions that combine to form a robot.

Since the first series, the franchise spawned two television series produced outside Japan: the 3D CG Voltron: The Third Dimension in 1998 and the 2D Voltron Force in 2011. The titular robot also appeared in several commercials, including one for MetLife during Super Bowl XLVI in 2012, and in a crossover comic project with Robotech.

New Regency, a 20th Century Fox-based production company, once negotiated with WEP and the Mark Gordon Company for the live-action Voltron rights in 2007. However, New Regency never actually signed a deal, and other companies were allowed to negotiate for the rights. WEP said in a 2008 lawsuit that New Regency discovered that former Toei character designer Kazuo Nakamura "may possess rights" related to Golion and thus the first Voltron series.

At the time that New Regency dropped the project in 2008, the Variety entertainment news source reported that Relativity Media was negotiating to pick up the project. WEP announced in 2011 that Relativity Media optioned the rights to make a live-action film adaptation with Atlus Productions. The companies have announced no further news on live-action plans.

Media Blasters released the first Voltron series with its English dub on DVD from 2006 to 2009, and released the original Japanese Beast King GoLion anime on DVD in 2008.

I have the same HDD and the light always blinks when the console is off, maybe it's the HDD not a console bug.

Or just don't support a shitty publisher like 2k that shuts down their games a year after release.

I do like Madden games, but don't really know any current players. So, I'll just say that is Ben Coates.

Is it really that hard to find a game of Evolve anymore? I believe that the player base dropped off but when you only need 6 players for a game I wouldn't think it would be so bad.

I've been optimistic about this game for awhile (before they were able to get Friday license) but I'm a sucker for those 80's slasher movies. I don't know a ton of details about how it plays, but I really hope they take advantage of the license. Like is the goal for the counselors or whatever just to run and hide until time runs out? That could get boring pretty fast. But if they made it so you have to get points or something by doing stereotypical horror movie things (e.g, go skinny dipping, sex in a cabin, etc.) and reaching a certain point threshold ends the game, I could see that being pretty fun (still probably not gonna have a lot of staying power. Long story short, I hope it's good/successful, but I also have my doubts.

I'm sad about Madden release date, I was hoping it was a week later so I could go to the midnight release and pick up Legion.

I have that harddrive too, the slow blinking means it's in standby mode actually (on the hard drive). I actually have 2 of those, and both of them will spin down when the console goes to standby (and the drive will go from being solid on, to blinking light only). You should be able to gently touch it while playing a game, and feel a small vibration from the drive spinning, and should feel it stop after going to standby.

 
Goddamn Madden curse... Well at least I know not to grab Gronk for my fantasy teams, and I was pretty positive the Pats were winning the Superbowl this year with how the league fucked Brady. For those speculating what he's doing with the ball it's his "thing" to spike the ball as hard as possible after a TD, which he gets a ton of. He's also the best TE in NFL history, and excels in both blocking and receiving.

Also Jason might have a lot in common with Evolve, but it's ridiculous to start talking about trading it before it's even out
