I keep singing this game's praises everywhere I go.

I bought it on release and love it. It is everything I loved about the original, but better, in my opinion.

It's so much more varied. Instead of always picking shuffling chance cards, there's dice games, a swinging pendulum thingy, and a rotating wheel-o-cards you choose when to stop. It adds a lot.

In addition, the game's "challenges" (ie levels) are much more interesting. Instead of just going from place X to place Y and fighting a boss, each challenge has a different goal.

One challenge may require hunting down four artifacts. Another is using clues gained while playing to figure out how to stop an assassination. You no longer just travel in one direction until you get a boss.

Also, a very nice new addition I really like: You no longer spend food when walking over already-visited cards. So there is much more freedom.

In any case, I really like it. I'm on challenge 8 or so (out of 22), and I am anxious for more.

Also, it's not full price ;) Early adopters get 3 dollars off for a few more days. So you'd technically be buying it at a 10 percent discount.

Technically it comes out the 15th. My local place has a 7 PM show on the 14th, probably more as I don't think they updated the website yet. I doubt it's only playing on one out of ten screens here.

I don't particularly care about Battlefront spoilers, but I'm hoping my local shows aren't sold out so I can get in Thursday or Friday with MoviePass and not have to avoid the internet too long.

Exactly how I am with the genre. Sky Force Reloaded is slightly better due to having power ups, but doesn't feel like a big upgrade.

No such luck yet. It gets pretty grindy around level 7, my ship is clearly underpowered and needs upgrades. Apparently Anniversary is an updated port of the 2014 F2P game, just adapted to have a more complex upgrade system for consoles and no microtransactions. Makes sense. Thankfully replaying levels for medals is still fun, and collecting stars in the process is a bonus.

That 500,000k stars is only 30GS, though, and most people online say they only have 1/3 of those stars after finishing the game, buying all upgrades, etc. I won't be doing that.

More Battlefront updates coming today. Most of it is just number tweaks on rewards, doesn't sound good enough to me, but we'll have to see what all the actual numbers are from the community as usual, all EA said was 3X the daily limit on Arcade, 3X crafting parts from daily boxes, and just general increases with no numbers for the rest. It seems like they're just going to keep marginally increasing stuff until they hit the point that people are complaining as loudly. This stuck out though.

This might explain the reports of the story just ending abruptly, I guess for a fear of spoilers or something. I know they said something about more story content coming out later, but they probably should have been specific. Unless this ties directly into the events of Last Jedi, I don't really see why it had to be held back, and it's still actually coming out before the movie. Holding back Finn and Phasma for multiplayer I understand, it's something to build hype for right next to the movie, but crippling your story at launch is pretty stupid.

I'm pretty sure the plot point that most people are speculating about is a red herring, but we'll see. I kind of see what they were doing with the free story DLC, honestly. It's a way to ensure that people who are only interested in the single player have a reason not to sell the game back right away, although I guess you could just rent it a second time from Redbox when the DLC comes out, lol. I don't mind planned DLC that adds to the story, especially if it's free. That's a much less anti-consumer way to reduce the number of used copies out there than I'd usually expect from EA.

The big seasonal faction war thing starts this week, too. They have various things planned throughout the month, so we'll see how it all goes.

Yeah, it wasn't a serious post, it's an old joke that goes back to a poster that would tell us BC was dying whenever there was a week without any updates, etc. Last year when the BC team took a holiday break he took it as proof that he was right and a bunch of rabble-rabble ensued.

If you play stage 5 on insane which is the 3rd difficulty you can amass 1750 stars per run and double that if you have the double stars card....goodluck.
 
I've noticed thechange in credit payouts in BF II. I was getting 245-300 no matter how I performed before. Now its more like 450 or something. So thats a nice little buff. More important than credits are crafting parts, though. You can buy all the crates you want but if you want to upgrade to a purple skill, you need a whopping 480 parts to do so.

They were sending out these boxes to a bunch of websites and Youtube channels, including the PlayStation Blog, and Nintendo tweeted about the stream too. The two main guesses are either Mega Man 11, or a Mega Man X Legacy Collection. Since everything in the box is themed toward the original character, I'm leaning towards something with him over the X series, but it could also be the announcement of a lot of stuff. Neither collection is on Switch, so I'd guess that's coming as part of this stream at least.

I thought it was supposed to be on the Cartoon Network.

Maybe they'll announce when it starts and a game to go with it.

I guess it was both 11 and an X collection!

Hmmm, they did the same thing with Halo Wars 2, it just cut off at the end. Turns out the story continues with both the Spearbreaker & Awakening the Nightmare DLC missions. The story is quite good too so it was odd initially where it just ends on a cliffhanger.

I've been in class all day and just saw this. Modern graphics but it looks like it plays identical to the NES games, which is what I wanted MM7 to be. I am so excited!

Hmm so, let's say you have 200k stars when you're done with everything else, which is probably accurate based on what I've read.

The remaining 300k divided by 1750 = 171 runs, assuming you complete the mission each time, or 85 replays if you have the double stars card. That is so much goddamned grinding for 30GS.

 
Looks like Steep got its Xbox One X enhancement patch. Still pissed about no Olympics expansion for Gold buyers. The DLC was weak.

Is it the 20.97GB update (which I think is just the Olympics DLC actually)? Update came up when I wanted to play it after I updated a few days ago. Currently downloading the Cuphead update... :bomb:

I agree this achievement is a lot of effort I have been playing the game for a year now and I still have not unlocked all the cards (I do have the double stars card though) much less the 500k stars. It is still fun to play here and there. I would say after you beat the game to just play the game when you feel like it and if you finally unlock the 500k stars one day it will be a pleasant surprise. I picked up Sky Force reloaded over the weekend and it looks like this game is even harder achievement wise.

 
Anyone feel like XBL downloads have gotten slower? I used to get 50 mb/s on average. Now get maybe 20 mb/s at most and usually far less (right now rocking 3.86 mb/s).

It sure if it is Live or my ISP starting to throttle me.

When I was on AT&T for a few months recently I was getting horrible download speeds, I'm back on Google Fiber now but they are slower than they were before when I had Google Fiber 2+ months ago. Everything else checks out fine on my network so anecdotal evidence seems to suggest XBL is downloading slower.

I'm with Spectrum and my downloads were actually too fast and swamping the modem so I had to throttle the Xbox to 90 Mb/s out of a 120 Mb/s connection.

 
So today my dream of a Mega Man 11 has been fulfilled, combine that with the toilet paper from my poo earlier being completely clean after wiping, and if we can finish the day with some nice sales, man in the words of The Offspring, that would be One Fine Day.
