Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Regrettably, the original game is in my backlog. In school I avoided sandbox games because I can lose so much sleep to them, so the sequel wasn't on my radar until I could play the first.

Maybe I can change that before late October?
Keep in mind it got an x patch. I played it earlier in the summer to see if I wanted to preorder the sequel but the x patch came out after. And it was good looking before the patch

If I had an X1X I'd probably have fired it up by now. Knowing I might have one eventually makes me want to wait to play it.

Really interested in both Beholder and Bard's Gold.

Had never heard of Beholder, but the art style and premise look really intriguing.  Reading about it reminds me of "This War of Mine" which I liked a lot.  I'm thinking I'll almost certainly pick it up.

Bard's Gold has had my eye for a long time.  Looks like a poor man's Rogue Legacy.  Reviews are average to decent, so I know I'm not going to get an amazing life-changing expierence, but for 2 dollars I"m not really expecting that.  Guess my concern is - are there better games that I can be playing with my time?  Yes.  Assassins Creed Origins remains unopened since Christmas.  And yet... I bet I'll probably buy this one too...

Any thoughts on either of these games?

I played Bard's Gold on Game Pass and it has some serious retro charm. It can be frustrating at times, but it's kinda supposed to be. Very trial and error. The level layouts eventually repeat themselves, so it's not procedural, but it's still fun. Once I started it, I ended up going 1000/1000, although I recommend a guide for the last bits, because some of the stuff is very well hidden.

Well GS does have a trade in promo towards the x right now 😎

If you have OG Xbox that’s 200 towards x (250 for one s towards X).

You did just get a 4K tv. Do it

Was expecting more from the red dead gameplay reveal. I had ads popping up all over the place so I was expecting like a 30 minute reveal, not a few minutes. I'm interested in the seeing how in depth the interaction type stuff like with your horse works out.

I thought 6 minutes of info was pretty detailed for Rockstar. I remember getting such stupidly sparse info from GTA5 at times. It was like an event from them just to put out screenshots of randomness. Of course, GTA5 is bigger than Red Dead (not to me, though), but still, it had more than I expected.

I'm just so pumped for red dead I was hoping for more after seeing so many ads for the reveal. I've had it preordered since the last visa checkout sale at best buy 18 months ago. Would like it digitally but for $35 for now I'm fine with physical.

The new Megaman is getting a demo next month on the 7th so we can all see if Capcom has saved the franchise from killing itself...again.

They did the same thing for GTAV. Rather than one big video, they put out lots of shorter videos each detailing a different aspect of the game.

I still remember that bright, beautiful time when Mighty No. 9 was gonna replace Mega Man and we were all gonna pick up Inafune on our shoulders and declare him the king of 2D Classic Mega Man.

*Sigh*

Feel dumb that I have to ask this, but marketing is too frequently tricky. Does the Forza Horizon 2 Complete Add-Ons Collection actually include all DLC?

Those of you still using the VCR model, GS is giving $200 credit towards buying an X1X through 8/28 ($250 for a One S). The official Xbox Twitter even posted about it, seems they really want you to upgrade. That's def. the most you'd get for the OG VCR these days.

Also, my Prime is expiring, and I can't justify $120 to renew it. Thinking about trying to preorder some games on discount before it expires next week, but I'm not sure what all is on the horizon. RE2? The new Tomb Raider?
I guess I'm going to look into this. I don't have much extra cash at the moment though, so I need to make another $300 in credit happen from games...

It's one of the most dramatic looking Xbox 1 X patches out there are at least for the 360 games, then again if you played it some the old way you could appreciate it more or something...

The gamestop trade deal is really tempting.  I've got the 4k tv, a VCR xbox, plus I'm sitting on a 250 dollar game stop gift card.  Problem is I really want to put that towards a Switch even though there isn't anything to play on it that I don't already have on Wii U.  That gift card is burning a hole in my wallet.

I have a similar feeling. Additional cost to upgrade for me because I am one of the 10 people that actually liked Kinect, so I'd need an adapter.

Played and beat the Titanfall 2 campaign. I agree with general consensus that it very good, short shooter campaign. Enough variety switching from a pilot to a Titan to keep the 6-7 hour campaign engaging enough. I definitely recommend with EA Access or picking up on the cheap.

Just upgraded my white S to a XBox One X. Thanks for the heads up on the deal. Have not been keeping up on the game stop thread.

Wonder if We Happy Few will be announced GamePass since MS owns the studio? Of course, they also own Ninja Theory and Hellblade hasn’t come. But there was a longer period between the studio aanouncment and the We Happy Few release.

You mean, like coming to GamePass tomorrow, on release day? Don't count on it with Gearbox publishing the game and apparently also providing financial support to complete the game after the scope of it was changed.

Wait, so I'll get 250 for the S? I think I might trade in my spare S and get a second X...
Yeah $250 for an S, I might of done that but did the S for $250 off a Switch a couple months back. Not bad since I got that S with some Minecraft codes for about $189 a couple years ago.

Yeah, Doctor Zod is right.

I think its important to remember that Compulsion Games is just the developer, not the publisher. They have no say on what the title's publisher, Gearbox, will choose to do with the game's further monetization. Compulsion Games doesn't get to decide when it will go on sale, when it will join programs like GamePass, when it gets included in PC Humble Bundles, etc.

Microsoft acquired Compulsion Games because they saw a spark of talent in the game; We Happy Few is like a glorified Microsoft try-out, of sorts, in that sense. But that has no barring on monetization of the game itself.

OK. Understood. I’ll wait for the $10 sale. :)

Seconded only if you have interest merely because it's a Rockstar game and besides quality, those games won't go down in price for years so I don't think there will be any real buyers remorse in terms of price for awhile.

And I kinda want to trade in my old VCR XBox, but it's going strong still (maybe because I keep skipping around consoles) and seeing how it's been less than a year and seeing people talk about their One X with random problems, makes me want to wait another year or so so they can iron out the kinks...and drop the price and include at least two free games with purchase.
Don't feel bad. I still use my VCR model everyday because I don't have the bread to upgrade to the Xbox X. It still works fine.

That was a good trade up. I'm just about breaking even since I bought my spare S on Black Friday for about $220 with a free game and crappy controller.

Apparently the One X will come w/ a free game starting tomorrow, too. Supposedly it's not supposed to stack with the trade-in, but lots of people on reddit have already said that staff have told them to come back with their receipt and it'll be fine.

A One X for $250 and a free game sure does sound pretty effing sweet.

Figures I missed out on the free game.  Not going to sweat it.  I did get the PubG bundle so have that code.  Not sure what it is worth if anything.

Overwatch Summer Games is a go!
Looks like I've got some new rare cosmetics to unlock before I'm back to duplicates! Woohoo! I'm going to have to play more than I have been lately, I'd like to unlock some of the new skins. Not so much any of the previous year's skins. Those are meh.

Jboy already had these games on steam so he was kind enough to not double dip so once again :

Descent sale tonight

Lets do

Digerati Family Fun Bundle

That was it's two game for one  ;)

Like this post to be entered to win.

If anyone has an extra blops beta code, hook a brother up. I read you could get them without pre ordering but I can't find how
