Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.

32.5gb to install the call of duty black ops 4 private beta im hearing?? has anyone been able to download it yet?
It's only 18gb on the PS4. I'm still waiting for my Xbox email code. Talk about waiting until the last minute.

*Edit* I just received my beta email. Ugh it's like 32gb.

Man, I do love video games where you have to get in a car and follow another car and be as inconspicuous as possible, which means legit holding up traffic behind you because you're driving 25mph. Stopping 50 feet behind the car when they stop in the middle of the road directly behind them because if you're 20 feet or so closer they think you acting suspicious despite the lights destroyed, cars scraped against and trail of bodies behind you and I like how this is still a thing majority of games still do since the PS2 and see reason to change.

Lol, almost as fun as escort missions where the person your escorting has 1 HP so an enemy looks at them and your restarting the mission.

This post is really out of touch. In the days of PS2 these events would have been less realistic, but now with smartphone unlimited data, legalized marijuana, and the depressing nature of society in general, i'm pretty sure no one pays attention to anything going on in the real world anymore. Devs have gotten more sophisticated, but when in Rome... :)

I already own Rage, but with it coming to Game Pass, that means the DLC will be sold for 10% off, right? Might cash in some bing points and pick that up now.

I love that as much as being a foot solider that has to protect a TANK or an entire of COLUMN OF TANKS. It makes total sense to have the completely defenseless pile of flesh run on up ahead and absorb some bullets for the heavily armored and armed vehicles half a mile back behind you.

But that is actually realistic.

Cool about Rage and Doom being added to Game Pass. I’ve been on the fence more than once for both. Hopefully now I can get some value out of my subscription.

Just about everyone whose comments I read on the event are saying that this is a great addition to the game and future events need to follow the model. I'm very happy that Bungie seems to be taking the game in the right direction. If you need any help with any of the Redux missions or checkboxes for the armor or some of the triumphs feel free to reach out to me.
I managed to get through the first three redux missions, but the last two are driving me nuts, the super-kill ovp requirement is a bitch too since I suck royally at it. Working on the sub-requirements tonight, but if you're willing to help me out I'd really appreciate it. Maybe tomorrow night or sunday? My xbox name is Abrsxsis2006, feel free to add me.

I'm stuck on the V Redux mission as well. Need to finish the PVP stuff and the Strike missions. Never done the strikes at all. I'm not the greatest buy any can add me mitjmac is the tag. I usually appear offline but should show up if you check the game roster.

Lol so true! Same thing happens in the beginning of Assassins Creed Origins... on camel back!

Haven't done any strikes either yet, working on the heroic public events atm, and collecting orbs.

I'm enjoying the drama surrounding the removed IGN Dead Cells review.

The fired reviewer just posted a non-apology apology, throwing Kotaku under the bus for investigating his plagiarizing past, and inciting a whole new round of disgust - this time specifically from professional journalists & reviewers.  Twitter is having a grand ol' time.

Before I thought the situation was sad.  But now I'm delighted at the events: a man choosing to go full WWE heel, the well-earned scolding directed at him from people that actually know how to do the job, and me with my popcorn.  Does this make me a bad person, CAG?

Oh man, now I'm all the more eager to wait for that Gold edition of Origins to get hella cheaper so I finally play new advancements in "follow that vehicle" technology...with camels!

I Mean his professional gaming review days are over so why not go out in...uh, whatever style there is left when you're a former professional game reviewer?

I haven't followed this story. So what happened ?
Who started what first ign or kotaku? I haven't been on either site lately. It's been filled with too man ads and commercials. I got tired of having to watch a 45 sec ad to see a 30 sec video lol.

start here:

I'm thinking about combining the Dollar General Gamestop $5 off $30 gift card deal with the $250 XB1S trade for XB1X.  I figure I ought to be able to upgrade from S to X for $210 (plus tax) with that combo.

Some people just don't know to quit while they're behind. He doesn't actually ever apologize in the video he posted, and the video is monetized with ads. Barf.

Also, that Fifa 18 review is plagiarized in the exact same way, endless paraphrasing which feels innocent at first but then is just way too obvious.

Are we talking about me following other camels as I trample over people as discreetly as possible? Hey man, I'll trample and kill civillians, but my heart is in the right place! You hear me?? HEART! RIGHT PLACE! *proceeds to point at ass*

Oh, that guy. And honestly, I'm not even going to bother looking at his video. Like really there's no reason to treat this as a big deal since after this, we're never going to hear from that guy after this weekend or care. Unless he becomes a big ol troll and even than, we should ignore him since he got fired and his career is done. Video game nerd journalism is served!

I just watched filip's "apology" video and he never admits to plagiarizing, copying, or even referencing the youtube review, but says there were a lot of factors but as editorial lead I take ownership.

Not only is that bullshit but his video apology is monetized lol. Doesn't deserve to have his family attacked but by lord is he toast

His name being Filip is all I needed to know. Parents messed him up at birth.

Welp, I’m not even going to give that asshole the benefit of the two cents or whatever he gets for someone watching his “apology”. fuck him.

What does that mean, exactly? Which games is it comparable to?
Less arcadey/unrealy like the new games and More grounded and strategy like the older games. I was really impressed, also no 1 hit melee

I guess I should say a return to form for the COD I love.

Seems like you could slow your gameplay down to almost a MW2 where you could hold a certain area for the entire match.

I'm thinking about combining the Dollar General Gamestop $5 off $30 gift card deal with the $250 XB1S trade for XB1X. I figure I ought to be able to upgrade from S to X for $210 (plus tax) with that combo.
If I could afford to do that, I would. I've bought 3 of the $30 cards this week, but that's all I can do. But let us know how it turns out.

I'm trying not to get caught up in the hype of trading up. I'm looking at a Dreamcast, original Xbox, 360, PS4 slim, two PS3 superslims and a Shield TV sitting next to my Xbox One. I need to just enjoy my systems, not get new ones for "marginal" performance upgrades. Yes, I said marginal since my TV doesn't do 4K.

(Backs away from thread)

I really enjoyed it as well. I like the grounded combat, back to basic scorestreaks, and love how the mini-map works now.

I get a vibe of Siege with the class options and semi-slower combat. Correct me if I'm wrong but this is also the first game that doesn't delete your equipment after you die and respawn?

I've finally crunched some numbers. If I can manage to get close to $150 out of a Colecovision, (boxed) Atari 7800, and (boxed) Odyssey 2 I think I'll be able to upgrade to a One X. I'm scrounging around my collection and hoping to find a bit more old stuff that I either have extras of or no attachment to. I think I have an extra N64 too.

Probably will try to list some stuff locally for a day or two but otherwise take to my store. I just don't want the GS prices of stuff to drop, and I don't really want to trade in some of this stuff unless I know I'm getting the X.

If I didn't have so many PS4 games backlogged I'd trade that to make it easy, but I'd feel bad with like 15 discs unplayed.

Was there any doubt?

*Racing game of the generation is coming soon folks.

*Unless Forza Horizon 5 is out before this gen ends lol
