Loot Crate is doing a Limited Edition Mass Effect Andromeda crate, for those of you that would be interested in one. I got the CoD:BO3 crate when they released it and it had really nice stuff in it. Wish I had gotten the Fallout 3 one. That was a great crate.
 
Forza Horizon 3 has four new challenges for the weekend, ends Sunday at 11:59pm Pacific. Best prize is for Making Friends challenge. FYI you must play all 4 entire online games or races in a set, or it won't count. I easily found games with all Holden's from other randoms going for it.

DNF'd all 4 races in my stock Holden doing that challenge, still finished 4th out of 10 at the end. Gotta love how XP trumps finishing position.

 
So maybe I'm really good at For Honor with that Orochi character. Started playing 1v1 today. Got smashed in my first game by a really good Lawbringer, and have now been on 15 or so game win streak since that I had to step away from to do real live. Really enjoying the PvP way more than I expected

I like that in 1v1 you just gotta be better than 1 person. The ironic thing is that I'm good with Orochi cause she doesn't use the conventional block and parry mechanic very much and is reflex based dodging instead. I just hope they don't nerf her dodge

Well, it also came with the seasons pass, and Halo Wars Definitive. I'm actually in favor of it, how could it possibly be a bad thing?
 
I think Mass Effect will look fine on Xbox but I'm sure all these trailers are PC gameplay. Frostbite seems to do fine on Xbox in general. The closest comparison is Dragon Age Inquistion, which looked fine in my experience, though runs at 900p. Battlefield 1 is also 900p, and Battlefront was 720, which all use the same engine. It seems pretty likely Scorpio will also get similar improvements to the PS4 Pro that was shown off a couple months ago.

As for playing the old games, it really doesn't seem necessary based on the what we know of the story, though a few connections seem likely since they probably left the Milky Way due to the impending Reaper threat for the most part. The real benefit of playing the old games is familiarizing yourself with the universe in general, the species, technology, and history. Though a benefit of not playing the old games is you don't despise the ending of the trilogy and drop the series entirely for years.

As for play time I don't think it's 100 hours if you do one playthrough off all three games, you might hit 100 if you play ALL DLC too. It's about 30 per game.

 
Once ME:A is in motion, you'll be having too much fun to care that the resolution is 900p or not quite 1080p or not 4k. Lots of people on reddit complain about FFXV being a "blurry mess" on X1 and I think they're insane. If you only look at PS4 Pro videos, you'll see the difference, but honestly it is still a beautiful game and I'll be surprised if ME:A is any different.

Speaking of which, the Visa Checkout deal is tempting me into preordering...

Thanks for posting! FYI rentals give you 14 days to begin watching, and then expire 24 hours after beginning. That's plenty of time for my busy self to squeeze in a movie.

Still playing Mass Effect 2. I finished a mission where I have to free someone from jail. It's not a bad game, but I'm still not a fan of the massive dialogue and wish there was more action. But it's better than Mass Effect 1 and I don't have a desire to drop it and watch a Youtube playthru (yet?).

If things get too slow, I take a break and play another game in the backlog:

I don't think it's a big deal either, but I do see the complaint on XV. Their engine seems to do something weird with stuff at a distance and it does look messy and noticeable. Not a deal breaker but I think most people would notice it.

You're doing it wrong. Grabbed my pre-order from BB, got a free Atriox figurine along with my game and as far as I knew the regular edition I grabbed, at $47.99 with GCU, well turns out it unlocked as Ultimate Edition. No HW1: DE or SP as far as I know though.

Background/distance stuff could look nicer, yeah. But I didn't really care until I saw some comparison videos, and even then the difference wasn't hugely significant IMHO. Noticeable, but I didn't feel slighted playing on X1.

I don't think I'm quite ready for 1v1. Haven't even finished the first chapter of story mode, but am having a blast with it. Just for grins I did play one game of Dominion as a Warden and shockingly got the most points in the match.

I was on the fence on the game and in no way comfortable with the controls yet, but really glad I got it. Between For Honor and Nioh, I've been loving the distraction from all the shooters I've been playing lately.

We could even 2v2 against some suckers. But I'm in the same boat as you, I was kinda in the fence about it, but I'm really glad I bought it early and got to get into the multi-player before everyone else is really good. I'm not a huge fan of the 4v4 deathmatch cause it's kind of a clusterfuck but I did like Domination a little more because there was some order to where the fighting was occurring.
Also the in game currency isn't so hard to come by. Winning a 1v1 match gets you 21 steel, and there a two daily bonuses for 300 each. I would have all the heroes unlocked if I wasn't buying gear packs for my character

Hi I usually lurk but wanted to share the deal on For Honor Gold Edition from Target (b&m only).

As some may know, Target mistakenly listed the $100 gold edition of For Honor at the deluxe edition price of $70. It scans at the register for $69.99.

There is a cartwheel coupon for 15% off the gold edition and another 5% from red card. This should bring you down to $56.52 before tax.

That's not all, in the For Honor thread here, people found out that the season pass code inside the box redeems as the full digital gold edition of For Honor (Xbox only). Meaning you don't even need the disc anymore.

You could trade the disc in to Best Buy for $22 + current 50% promo + 10% gcu = ~$35. So it ends up $21 (not including tax) for gold edition :D

Personally I'm gamesharing the digital version with my cousin and selling the disc to a friend.

Logan has huge ass promo posters in theaters other movies fill the wall with 3d models and spectacular graphics kids take pictures with, but Logan doesn't need that all it needs letters L O G A N on some sandy background that takes half of the wall and you suppose to be impressed just by that  ..  *hears wind in the sand

This looks like a $20 game that is taking advantage of slow release season. Player hosting is damn near unforgivable for a game being given this much marketing, spend that money on servers instead of streamers.
 
There isn't a Target anywhere near me with the Gold Edition in stock, sadly. I have some BB certs so I may just go for it there. It would be a bit more without the cartwheel discount, but for digital gold edition and being able to sell back the disc, still a good deal.

You can't buy something at a Target store that's in stock at another location and have it sent over to your local store, can you?

I always judge games from their unfinished state. Granted a ton hasn't changed from the beta, but the hosting hasn't been an issue at all.
 
I don't know what issues were in the beta for For Honor, but I just got booted 4 times in a row trying to start a round of Dominion. Played some 1v1 without issue, but this shit is annoying. It's fun enough, but I'm still just button mashing. Will probably jump on the $35 TIV at best buy before it tanks. Used copies are already showing up that low on Amazon
 
Guess it turns out grabbing all those daily REQ packs finally paid off. Got to play some Halo 5 last night as I wondered if a Xbox tied to a phone's 4G LTE WiFi would work in any online shooter. You're looking at a SR6 Spartan again - like my Battlefield stats, gotta start all over again lol. Yeah I forgot who wanted that Gold REQ but I gave it to MrHockey, hope you play Halo 5.

Seriously doubt that. The game is getting strong reviews and probably selling decently for a new IP.

I've had no issues with multiplayer. Love the complexity of the combat. Honestly gives me the best feeling of sword / blocking melee of any game I've ever played.

Hell, I hadn't even planned on buying it but am glad I did.
