Really? I didn't know that games were stricken from media mail. Don't see why games wouldn't be "media". It's a form of entertainment like movies and on a disc afterall.

Send most of my stuff first class anyway. But I used to use media mail when it was somewhere relatively close and wouldn't cause that much difference in shipping time.

From what I remember when I asked a postal work about it, media mail is only for educational use.

 
Finally caved and bought Assassin's Creed Unity from CDKeys. For some reason I couldn't convince myself to buy it at $1.50, but its at $0.99 and I figured I just had to buy it for under a dollar, even if I never play it

I thought that at first too. But it arrived in 5 days and wasn't assessed any postage or fees upon delivery.

Kid was paranoid. He posted not too long ago in a different thread about some dude "threatening" him on Reddit, when in reality there was no threat whatsoever, and said he was gonna report him to the authorities just like the dumb CAG (referencing me) he did last year. It seems like this is a common thing with him. He swore up and down that Media Mail was fraud if the item doesn't fall into the categories of what is allowed. USPS cleared that up as bullshit when I spoke to them lol. he also swore I would be arrested for mail fraud.

I got myself one, and two for friends. Another buddy did the same, and a third friend figured out that yellow ranger code so he could come too. Should be pretty amusing to see 7 grown men roll in the theater at 10:30pm to see the movie. No processing fee for me either, I also chose a regal theater if that matters

Now I'm wondering if the tickets will get revoked or something. Wishing I just made everyone do their own legwork now

It's weird when the movie trailer looks good, it's not but when the trailer looks bad, it's good. It's weird like that sometimes. In the case of Power Rangers, it's getting a lot of mixed reviews so maybe a free admission isn't too bad idea lol.

My observation has always been that in those situations all the good scenes or jokes from the mediocre to bad movie were used in the trailer to sell it so there's little to nothing left that's new to redeem it.

But there's no way of knowing until you see the movie. :)

It looks like an actual attempt at entertainment, unlike the endless dreck that are the TV shows.

 
I didn't think the trailer I saw looked bad, just a little generic...all the same stuff every other trailer trailer has, like Power by Kanye West playing, cut the music for a corny joke, then Power again, they even had the token black guy say a stereotypical black guy thing for a cheap laugh. Not surprised if it's mediocre, but hope it's not for those of you that are stoked.

I'm not a Power Rangers fan, but I don't like when they try to take the dorkiness out of dorky things. Reminds me of superhero movies in the late 90s, early 00s...putting the X-Men in leather and just trying to turn it into more of a straight up action flick. Nobody that's going to see Power Rangers is worried about it being too nerdy. People in suits in board rooms overthink this stuff.

It's a fine line for the movie makers to walk. For instance, I was stoked about Wrath of the Titans when it came out. So much so that I devoured every trailer, and in doing so I pretty much saw every important scene in the movie (including some footage that was literally a few minutes from the end of the movie, during the big fight). I'm still sore about that one.

Well you do have to remember that people like us make up such an infinitesimally small percentage of the people they want to target and they know that we'll still give them money no matter how much we protest or how much they screw it up. They have to appeal to the other 7 billion people out there.
