Halo Wars 2 reveal trailer and most anything (esp Forza 6 wet racing footage) that happened at http://news.xbox.com/

Hooooly hell, Crackdown 3 multiplayer footage. I was watching the tech behind the game at the Microsoft build a while ago and here it is in action! Ok, ok, now we can have a proper Mech Assault game now.

Day fucking 1, I loved playing the first one.

All future Games with Gold being backwards compatible is pretty huge. I'm stoked for that.
Oh wow. I never saw that news anywhere. I still have my 360, but BC will be nice once I upgrade my Xbox One hard drive. Still haven't used the BC already implemented for that reason.

Overall I liked the conference a lot now that I've gotten to see it. A lot of good looking games coming into the pipeline and 2016 already looks like a good year. New dashboard in November is kind of disappointing, but at least preview members will get the chance to try it out in September.

Anyone see the new Chatpad? It looks pretty damn sweet since it also includes the microphone port and controls for it. There's also two dedicated buttons that can be set to a specific action like having a dedicated Screenshot/GameDVR button.

Additionally there is a Nyko alternative that launches at the end of August, but it doesn't have the dedicated buttons so meh.

These two are joining my collection.

While at work I read on IGN that backwards compatibility was free to everyone in November? They ment you can play 360 games that you own though right? The wording made it seem really weird. Anyways I'm in the preview program and not too interested in it, but I'm curious to see what games they end up adding to the list. It's also pretty crazy tech, how they are emulating the entire Xbox 360 engine.

Also did they confirm the new dashboard update will be available in September for Preview members?

Quantum Break looked fantastic, can't wait for that but the announcement of the show was odd.. is it part of the game?  Or it's own series like Powers?

Scalebound also looked interesting, want to see more.

Rest of the conference was pretty meh though, no surprises other than Halo Wars 2, felt more like deleted scenes from E3 rather than a stand alone conference..

Did anyone else have rory mcllorys pga tour show up in their ready to download tab

Is it the same thing that happened with evil within like a month ago

Just the demo, which I don't remember downloading or even being available to begin with.

EDIT: Never mind, got the full game download unless it's a trial.

I had it too. I'm downloading it now incase it was an EA mess up and by some miracle I get to keep it.

Do you both have EA Access? I do, so I'm wondering if when they added Dragon Age today something went haywire and unlocked PGA as well.

What was The Evil Within thing? I noticed it and downloaded but haven't launched it.

When it comes to those downloads for The Evil Within, people were unable to actually play the game after downloading. Don't expect much difference here. Although with PGA, doesn't EA Access offer a full game trial?

Can you guys recommend me some good Xbox One headsets? I'm a multiplayer gamer so I like to use headsets that can decipher the location of footsteps, gunshots, etc. I tried doing some research myself and saw the TB XO Sevens were good at this but wanted to solicit your guys' feedback. I don't need some ultra high end headsets that cost $300+. So something between $100 - $200+ range is my budget.

I'm mainly getting one to get it for Gears for the next year. I used to have TB X5's for my 360 when I played on Gears but they actually crapped out on me after a couple of years so I was kind of disappointed in their durability although I at least got a lot of mileage out of them (probably spent 300+ hours on Gears 3 MP alone). From what I've always understood though, all headsets are simulated surround sound. So headsets can only go so far but having never spent more than $150 on headsets myself, I can't vouch for that using personal experience. I think I saw that they are releasing some Halo 5 headsets from Astro soon but I'm hesitant to jump on any headset that hasn't been tried out by the general audience yet. All advice is appreciated. TIA.

I just use my PlayStation Gold Headset with the headset adapter. I'm not really an audiophile, but they sound pretty great to me and I've never had a complaint with the setup. They've also been on sale for pretty cheap so if you keep an eye out you might get lucky or you could try Price matching them from Walmart.com but they've been out of stock for awhile now.

I have been through two of the xbox one stereo headsets, I used my Logitech F540s from last gen until the wireless base station died and I just bought the Logitech G430s. The Microsoft headset is not bad, but durability is not good. They don't make the F540s no more. The G430 headset is pretty good in the time that I have had it. Its not meant for Xbox One gaming, but if you buy this adapter http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Position-Headset-Splitter-Adapter/dp/B00CPEZ4J6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1438801186&sr=8-3&keywords=startech you can use game chat and sound through the controller.

Its not the most practical setup, but its cheap and so far it works very well. Only paid 35 bucks for the headset on Prime day and its got a 3 year warranty

me too. I use my Gold headset for both my PS4 and my X1. Works great on the X1 and never a complaint about my voice quality.

Don't use that garbage look up the hyperX Cloud gaming headset - $80 has reviews right up there with all of the $300 headsets, great sound quality only minus is that it is wired. Much more comfortable and better audio drivers than the set playstation is pushing. Very much worth it price wise.

I am one cheap ass but when it comes to audio equipment, lol it all changes. Using the Turtle Beach 800X Elites, with the firmware update I can't complain (people talked about a lackluster mic before the update's fix). Yeah I did have some Triton Kunais before that though, decent.

Weird after 7 hours of updating to Window 10 nothing happened, I got pissed and just force restarted my pc, when it booted it up I got windows 10 installed. I didn't know what happened but I finally got Windows 10 running. I like it so far.

Yeh my upgrade to win 10 has been pretty good so far. Really enjoying the Xbox app. I can keep tabs on my son downstairs on 2nd Xbox easily, stream it, instantly party chat to the kinect, or even turn the system off if he is being bad.

That's only first day stuff. I am going to get a cheap tablet like the cowboom intel atom and upgrade it to win 10 for easy streaming outside and around house.

I've upgraded about 10 machines so far and I have ran into a similar issue on 2 of them where it hangs on the big circle at different percentages.  A forced reboot causes it to say it's going back to the previous OS, which it does.. then the second attempt goes through without a hitch, odd but nothing system breaking.  I will say that after upgrading and you get the free activated copy from Microsoft that formatting and doing a fresh install is the right way to go.. just like with all windows versions before it, it just seems to run much better than the one that was upgraded.

Can you stream Xbox one to a tablet? I thought it was only Win 10 PCs that could stream.

Yes, all you need is windows 10, xbox app on whatever your using and obviously connected on a network with the Xbox you want to stream to. If you have then as instant on, you can turn on your system from app and go play like normal.

Pretty fun I have been playing forza outside in the garage.

Yesterday, I joined the ranks of XBox One owners. I took advantage of the Best-Buy 40"TV+XBoxOne bundle. As always, time is going to be my primary limiting factor for trying things out. I do intend to extensively test out the backwards-compatibility as soon as it gets rolled out. My collection of 360 titles is quite good, and I'm looking forward to giving some of those a spin on the new hardware. Tonight I will likely be installing the Halo: CE code that came with my box. (a big download, so it will likely take a while)

After picking up the XBox One, I also stopped by my favorite local used-game store, and picked up an XBox One Kinect for $60. (considerably more reasonable than you usually find it for) I gotta have the complete XBox One experience.

Congrats on getting the X1.  The backwards compat functionality (allows you to play some 360 games on the X1) is not available currently unless you're in Xbox' Preview program.  It will come up in an update, probably Nov (from what I've heard).

How's that 40" tv?  Any ghosting or blurriness when playing the X1 on it?

I am aware, although I do thank you for the reminder. My schedule is fairly stacked at the moment, so time is at a premium. It doesn't really bother me that the backwards-compatibility is going to be arriving later. I'll already be hard-pressed to digest the content that I already have. I picked up the Rare Replay collection, and the XBox One came with the Master Chief Collection. Between the two of them that's a LOT of content.

As for the TV, I haven't gotten to try it yet. I played Civ 5 with my brother and a friend in the afternoon, and went over to another sibling's house for dinner and helping to take care of my new nephew. I was lucky to scrape together enough time yesterday to hook the X1 up and start installing things. And the day-job prevents me from playing anything until later this afternoon. (perfectly normal) I am planning on clearing off a place on my home desk to set-up and test the TV, so I'll have some impressions later. I'll probably be testing it with a PS3 and 360 first, though. The X1 is hooked into my main living-room screen, where the surround-sound system is.

I saw that there is a second generation headset available now (HyperX Cloud II). The reviews are favorable as well however it's a little harder to discern since it's primarily marketed as a PC headset that enables surround sound. For consoles, this headset is pushing audio through stereo only instead. In this case, just to confirm how is the spatial awareness on these things (i.e. surround sound capability)? Does it do a good enough job to distinguish which direction sound is coming from?

The $300 headsets are the ones with the surround sound tech but I wonder if it's just too early in the current gen cycle for me to invest in a good pair. Down the line I might make the jump when they correct all of the various issues I see with the current premium headsets. For now, I'm thinking about the more moderately budgeted ones like the hyperX and logitech ones.

I just used a 12 month XBLG code on my xbox one, is there anything i need to turn off from auto renewing my subscription for 60 dollars once its up? I dont think they could, dont have a payment option on file, but you never know if it might end up on there when the subscription is up.

Yeah for the high end gaming headset, I rated Astro A50's above the Turtle Beach 800X Elite's. Based on my research, the only knocks on the A50's are the required talkback cable that you need to attach to your controller since TB has a specific agreement in place to be the only true wireless provider and that the mic quality seems to not be great for some users who observed it be off to the party members around them. I can deal with the wireless issue (just unplugging my cable everytime I get up to the kitchen or bathroom during lobby matchmaking) and the mic quality (I don't really care if others can't hear my voice perfectly - so long as they can discern what I'm saying for in-game strategic moves).

I'm weighing whether the extra $150 - $200 is worth the 5.1 surround sound benefit over the other good headsets like the HyperX tier. One thing that's been kind of bugging me about foregoing the A50's is that they are also compatible with the PS4 which is what I also play on. So I feel like I would be getting more out of my premium headset since I can use them for both consoles. Then again, I'd have to switch back and forth between having to connect them everytime so that's something too.

Absolutely, there are a few neat EQ post settings on the TB 800s but to tell you the truth I mostly listen with them with "signature sound" mode on (5.1 surround sound). I'm playing Farcry 4 right now, and yes you can pinpoint where sounds come from. The mic issue is fixed with the firmware updates and it's truly wireless with a nice base cradle, that also holds them nicely if in not use. They're also Bluetooth enabled which I use with my phone quite extensively (listening to music, taking calls, our talking to text with messenger). Yeah there's a 2 year extended warranty that comes with it too.

Anyone playing COD Advanced Warfare?  I keep freezing at the XBL/Local Play/System Link/Store page. It takes a few minutes before I can click on "Xbox Live"
