New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

I remember when releasing bundles was put on hold during Steam sales. Guess this one's not perceived as much of a threat.

How was the actual story, characters, dialogue, and voice-acting in BlackList?
I was prepared to hate the new guy voicing Sam, but he does a really great job of it actually, and everyone else is pretty good too. One of the new characters (the one for coop), is a little boring at first, but he gets more likeable as the game goes on. Grim and...someone else from a past game....are still great though.

The story is pretty simple, but the presentation of it is fantastic and really helps to immerse you in the tension of everything that's going on.

If the leaked email is anything to go on, the winter sale will have the same prices, so I guess that's not a "threat" either. Honestly I see it the other way around, who'd buy a game during the sale if it pops up in a bundle concurrently?

But if there's some kind of hat/coal/card-shenanigans, people would probably purchase on Steam.

Remember during the Summer sale they had those cards, and even though there were fifty thousand of each card, they still sold for around thirty cents each? Imagine if they did something like that now. The price of the cards would sink like a stone to three cents and you'd list it but you'd still be behind thousands of other people who listed it first and then when, OR IF, it finally sold, you'd only make one penny and then Gaben would laugh at you as he collects his Steam tax and then he'd do a sick 1080 backflip into his money bin a la Scrooge McDuck.

Really? I've never heard anybody say that before. What makes you say that? I've actually never played either, have Citadel though, from the Deep Silver bundle.
Haven't played a beat-em-up in awhile, was debating Castle Crashers.
I'll counter Mooby's opinion..

I preferred Castle Crashers. Far more replayability, and doesn't have a huge increase in enemy healthbars and difficulty when playing co-op. Sacred Citadel takes a lot longer to kill enemies in co-op than singleplayer, and while it's not too frustrating, for the final boss fight (base game, not DLC) its really noticeable. The singleplayer in Sacred Citadel is a cake walk. I think the difficulty balance is way off in the game and can't recommend it for that reason. It's an ok game though, I had fun with it.. but the multiplayer experience was more lacking to me than CC. I haven't played the DLC yet though, so I can't comment on that.

As for Castle Crashers.. it's kind of short but the charm/humor and abilities you get for each character makes up for it. The amount of characters you can play + their unique abilities, and collectible pets/weapons adds a lot of replayability and variety, which is something Sacred Citadel lacks. Neither game is bad, but CC is a lot more polished.

I'm about to head out of the country and the game that I wanted the most still hasn't appeared in a flash or daily (Typing of the Dead Overkill).  Since the game had a 50% discount when it was released (which I missed because I was out of the country then as well), I figure it should hit that price point sometime during this sale.  If it doesn't appear in 30 minutes though, I'll miss it :/

Any kind CAG want to buy the game as a gift if it hits 50% in the next couple days?  I will paypal him or her when I return :)

I can do this for you.

Steam would have made so much money off of me if they had had a decent damn sale on as Alabama lost to Auburn. I ended up blowing it on booze and blu rays and junk food instead.

Meh flash deals.
  • Legend of Grimrock has matched its all-time low outside of a bundle. It's a well-regarded and well-reviewed game.
  • F1 2013 has been $20 at Gamersgate.
  • Sniper GW2 is at $7.49, but was $4.49 during the Steam Summer Sale.
  • Cities in Motion 2 has been cheaper and bundled.
So yeah, mostly meh.

Not sure if deals or if %s are now delayed to prevent glitches.... because Darksiders II for $25... NOT A DEAL.  Like, what's going on Valve?

It's almost like Steam is learning from its mistakes...maybe it's evolving.

Evolving into something horribly unglitchy.

Payday 2 sucks. Just getting that out there. And I LOVED Payday 1 in the grotesque anal way
Agreed, the card drop thing is terrible, not being able to pick the mission you want to play is likewise terrible, and so many promised features have been continuously delayed or will end up in DLC. $10 for base + dlc is my suggested buy point.

Darksiders is $3.99. If you've somehow missed every bundle of that game, then you can do a lot worse for four bucks.

Anyway, even with the dailies, same ol' games with same basic discounts.  Hilarious they've hit the point where 55% off is worthy of a flash/daily.  Every sale they keep retreating to crappier and crappier discounts pocketing the pennies as they go.
