This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Still jealous over Phantom Breaker.  Praying that the Vita version makes it to the states.

Will consider the ME3 DLC if there's a similar sale on PSN, but they rarely cross over anymore.

Unless you can return it, there's no point in having two copies of that game and really the story and gameplay is fine experiencing just once unless you want to do a no gun playthrough and go do it again on hard with Faith as a killing machine.
Dang it, I just looked at the receipt and the last day to return it was two days ago. I guess I'll just skip the digital copy, I can use that money for something else... to increase my backlog.

Oh a big yes to playing 1 before 2. The story in 2 continues in 1, so if you play 2 before the first you kinda won't really understand the story aswell. #3 is unbearable (and that coming from a big fan of the series). I can't bring myself to play it. Bought it day 1 and its been close to a year and im only on chapter 6 or 7.
I can see why people hate Dead Space 3, especially for the initial chapters. But I PROMISE you....if you can make to the last half of the game, you're pretty much gonna end up playing the closest thing we'll ever get to an HP Lovecraft video game based on The Old Gods and the Elder Things. If you're into that type of crazy shit like I am, Dead Space 3 reaches a totally different level of enjoyment.

and if anything, you should play it for Dead Space 3's DLC. Holy shit that ending is insane.

I just recently ordered a copy of Dead Space 2 after watching most of a Let's Play done by Michael from Achievement Hunter/Rooster Teeth. Looked like a lot of fun and I've always meant to give the series a try. Is it worth playing through the first game for anything beyond the story?
Dead Space 1 is my favorite. Best environment by far. Id recommend playing it first since the story is good and there is kind of a twist in the end that will be spoiled I'd you just start the second.

Wow they even put the TDU2 DLC on sale? I mean, I doubt I'd play the game anymore but... holy shit.

Catherine easily worth that price.

All three Dead Space games are great, but the first is the best. Just a perfect game. I loved that the weapons are engineering tools, not guns (for the most part). I loved that "reload" was mapped to LT + A instead of just X like every other game-- even little stuff like that made Isaac feel like a normal guy dealing with the situation, not a soldier.

Anyway. WTH is Blood Knights?

Thank you as always for the quick and awesome replies. I do believe that I will give the first Dead Space game a playthrough.  One can't have enough good horror games.  And I'll admit to being a huge fan of H.P. Lovecraft, so the prospect of dark, tentacly (probably not a word) evil things is extra appealing.

Looks like I need to go get another 32gb flash drive.. Filled up everything from these deals, original 20gb hard drive and 2 32gb flash drives.

Fair warning...the gameplay, as far as combat goes, changes majorly from 1 to 3. So don't get too comfortable with the survival horror aspect of the fighting mechanics in DS 1. DS 3 becomes a full on action game, but that's on the surface...if you buy into the story, it has imo the most horrifying twist in the entire saga once you find out what Isaac is up against.

but dont worry about that for now, just get DS 1 and enjoy the ride.

I'm gonna pretend you're really Stipe Miocic.

Also, as a counterpoint to the Catherine praise, I'd say it isn't worth it at any price. I despised the block puzzles and the nightly interactive adventure portion also got rather boring after 3 or 4 nights.

Where is my pel Haggar with muscles and mustache from Streets of Rage?
Trolling? EVERYONE knows Haggar is from Final Fight, and not my beloved Streets of Rage (I've probably played and beaten the original 30+ times, so yeah, I can be a bit like an overstepping-jerk of a boyfriend when someone slanders it, that's right). :shame:

Wow, now you make me want to get right back into it. I also have the dlc for the game, which should be a good thing, but its not. As much as I love the series, I can't take #3. The story is good don't get me wrong, but the gameplay and this whole create your own gun bullshit makes me play it every couple of MONTHS. We'll see if Ill bump it up on my to finish list.

Streets of Rage has fantastic music.

Final Fight does not.

I agree that these should not be mixed up.

My mistake you're absolutely right! Haggar is from Final Fight. Thanks for catching that fondle. I love both of these games. I guess I over exercised today :^o | it effected my memory.

overstepping-jerk was the right ting to do. You are the protector of oldschool treasury like Streets Of Rage. Thank YOU

Whoever mentioned they expected cheap avatar crap to go on sale, your wish has come true. Seems xbldb picked up AssCreedIII stuff for 80% off. If you're into that kinda thing...........

These posts are going so fast that I can't tell what went on sale so far. To http://xbldb.com/current-deals I go. Thoughts:

Crysis 1 and 3 - Yikes, I still have to play the first game otherwise I might have gotten this and 2 if it were on sale. How come Crysis 2 isn't on sale?

Dragonball Z games and Dead Island Riptide - If they were $15 cheaper, I would get them. I love me some DBZ when I can afford it ... and zombies.

Great price on Catherine and the lowest I've seen. Some of the puzzles seemed hard but with time I bet I can get through them.

Thoughts on Blood Knights, Final Exam, Contrast, and Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds?

I dont even have my 360 hooked up anymore since I got my X1, but I just bought Catherine for $10.  Cant beat that price.  Will have to hook it back up and connect it to the internet before downloading and finding a home for it somewhere around my house

Dang, $10 for KoA and $15 for Crimson Dragon....my backlog....oy.

I wonder what's up wtih XBLDB.  That site is always all up to date on everything.  What would this thread be without that site??

Hahaha I actually mentioned it a couple pages back but I really have no interest in anything for the Xbox Avatars.

Thoughts on Blood Knights, Final Exam, Contrast, and Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds?
I did a bit of research on Blood Knights. It's by the team that did Venetica, features a hot vampire chick, and has easy achievements. I'm pretty easy to please so that was enough for me.

Of course, the week after my Live runs out, Contrast goes on sale  :wall:

Help me out fellow CAGs, should I buy another sub right now (I was going to get AC IV this week because it's on sale and get Live again in a couple weeks after my first two midterms) or should I wait for a cheaper price?

I've seen the Youtube videos, and while it's an unique and cool game, there's still glitches and I think I can wait a little

Thoughts on Blood Knights, Final Exam, Contrast, and Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds?
Contrast is pretty cool. It's similar to Limbo in that there's a lot of weird platforming (and a lot of trial/error) but you have to create own "platforms" by shining light on objects to make a shadow. Only thing, there's some glitches (from what I've seen on Youtube), but it's nothing game breaking, just funny.

Dammit.  I have $65 sitting in my MS account, and still nothing I'd consider, other than Alice.

I want to buy KoA, but I'm going to try to find a relatively cheap physical copy.

Thoughts on Blood Knights, Final Exam, Contrast, and Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds?
Blood Knights is mediocre. I lost interest 20 minutes into the game. Phantom Breaker is great if you like side scrolling beat em up games. No idea about the other two.

If it had co-op I'd be all over it.

EDIT: Meant online co-op.

Good luck with that.

It's a bit more than what I would like to pay, but Contrast at $7.50 has me very tempted.
I'd suggest maybe waiting until it's $5 or less. It was good on the PS4, but a bit glitchy and pretty short. Great atmosphere though.

Mass Effect 3 question, but to get the best ending do I have to get to 100% prepared in multiplayer? I Played some like a year back and sent classes I maxed out to war or whatever as well if that makes any difference.

No.

I'm pretty sure they lowered it with the extended cut so that you don't even have to touch the multiplayer if you didn't want to.

Thanks for the responses. I Look forward to being able to complain about something two years old now like everyone else.
lol

I just started the Mass Effect series a few weeks ago. After finishing 1, I immediately jumped into 2. A friend of mine said "enjoy all 2.9 games!" I said, wtf are you talking about man. He says, "the last .1% of the game will make you wish you'd never played all those fucking games."

=-/

Netflix is the best game of this generation.

Nothing will change that.

Actual games couldn't change that.
Fixed.

EDIT: I just realized how that could be misconstrued. What I'm saying is that Netflix destroyed gaming. Looking at my friends list, it's all anyone's doing, even the hardcorest of gamers I know. T^T
