The 2013-14 NFL Thread

Manning's stats are ATROCIOUS.

But yes deflect some more.
The entire team is playing like shit. If you think MANNING is the reason they are losing the game, you're dumber than I thought. I already said Manning is playing like ass...but show me who on Denver is playing well. The Broncos aren't going to win the game if Peyton is the only one playing well.

How do you not understand how football works? I swear, I would swallow a shotgun if my mental capacity was that small.

Congrats Seattle on your free SB championship, courtesy of Peyton Manning.

Niners, Saints, Packers would be doing the same thing to this team no problem.

I know nothing about football... nope. I mean you played Division one football right? Right?

If you're going to give him the MVP tag because he juiced his stats all season then he gets the blame when Denver can't put a single point on the board in the first half. He calls the plays. He threw two interceptions; one being a pick six. He threw a bad pass on 4th and 2.

It's funny because if Tom Brady was on this Denver squad they would be destroying Seattle.

Hell even Tim Tebow's bum ass would be doing better than Manning today.

Michael Jordan is the greatest player in NBA history. He is one of the worst executives ever. Isaiah Thomas was an excellent (if not slightly overrated) player. Also dreadful as an executive, though to his credit he wasn't bad at drafting. Charles Barkley and Shaq aren't exactly stellar analysts.

Performing well at something doesn't necessarily mean that one can deliver quality insight about said subject.

You can't be the best quarterback of all time, get all the praise for being the QB behind the highest scoring offensive ever, and not find the endzone in the first half of the Super Bowl. Considering the Bronco's were favorites coming it isn't out of line to say that Peyton isn't performing. You can deflect blame all you want but it doesn't change the fact that he is NOT performing.

Oooh...big man. Student athlete. That doesn't mean you have a fucking brain to tie your shoes with. Here are some key plays in the first half alone that hurt Denver.

Trindon Holliday takes kick out of the back of the end zone...gets to 14 yard line

Manny Ramirez snaps ball into the end zone.

Robert Ayers pressures too far to the inside on QB contain, allowing Russell Wilson to beat him to the outside several times

Tony Carter gets flagged for pass interference on 3rd down, setting up easy Seattle TD

Trindon Holliday takes another kick out of the end zone...gets to 16 yard line.

Denver O-lineman (can't remember who) commits holding penalty on 1st and 20 at Seattle 32...kills drive

Denver O-lineman (can't remember who) commits false start on 3rd and 4 at Seattle 21...kills drive

Manning has played like shit, I'm not even denying that. But every bad play in the game is not his fault. That's ridiculous and demonstrates an incredible level of ignorance. On top of that, Peyton hasn't really had much time to throw...which to me, says Denver is also being outcoached.

John Fox most definitely should have been prepared for that and had a lot of creative routes ready. They've run some screens, but nothing that has really kept Seattle honest. Denver is just being outplayed on all levels that go so far beyond Peyton Manning. A person that claims to be knowledgeable of the sport would be able to see that.

I guess this year's NFC Championship game was the de facto Super Bowl

I never said it was all Peyton's fault. But the quarterback that always gets praised for "having a quick release" (i.e. Defensive Lineman can't get to him) can't hide behind the defense that he didn't have enough time. You can blame his interceptions on the line all you want but he should have taking the sack on the pick six.

Also John Fox was reportedly going to get a 1M bonus if the Bronco's won the Super Bowl so it isn't like he didn't have the motivation to prepare his team.

You're all welcome.
Didn't realize that it was Seattle's offensive that was blowing out Denver.

Your money is safe with the Broncos this weekend. Seattle can't score enough points to keep up with the record setting Broncos offense. Final score 31-13 Denver.

figures the only points denver scores is when seattle lets up off the D

lol

I said they would destroy them. They are. Never said the offense would. You're the one who said you need an offense to do it. ::handwave::

So, what exactly are the mock "MVP" chants supposed to imply then? The entire team is getting spanked. If everyone else was playing well and then Peyton was just making bonehead plays, then I'd be on board with blaming it on him. I'm sorry, but there's just no way to make it not look like hating on Peyton for the sake of hating on Peyton. Notice I'm not even defending him. He hasn't played well. But no one on Denver has...so acting like he lost the game for Denver is unfair, in my opinion.

As for Fox, I never said he wasn't motivated. I said he was being outcoached. Whatever he prepared for...it obviously didn't work. As rbanez said, it looks like Seattle has his playbook. Just from LITERALLY the opening snap, they have had Denver's number.

Loving all the excuses that are starting to roll in. "Denver beat themselves, Seattle D isnt good" lmao
Yeah, that's ignorant nonsense as well. Seattle's defense is fierce. I would have liked to have seen Peyton get another ring to solidify his legacy, but I have no problem with the better team winning. The Seahawks were relentless in this game. You'd have to be nuts to deny that they just wanted it more.

In the end, I guess I'm glad Seattle finally gets a SB but god-damn they are the biggest collection of assholes in the NFL (fans included0

Hey my team played in the SB (well played is me being generous). Even though they got spanked it was much better then being there than not

Makes it even more annoying since that town was just under Cleveland in the "Top Lovable Losers" just a few short years ago. To go from one of the most sympathetic fanbases to one of the jerkiest. That takes doing.
