I purposely posted it to Reddit and the feed of a well known Game hoarder collector who meticulously keeps track of every game that gives keys and pretty much everywhere else I could find exactly for that reason. I wanted their email box to get blown up to prove a point that their method was ridiculous and they either needed to shit and give everyone the update or get off the pot, say no and take the flak for it (they previously promised Director's Cut would be free but then tried to go back on that).

PS - We should probably start setting our sites on the Metro 2033 Redux.
I keep meaning to throw my 2 (like unwanted) cents at the Metro Redux stuff... I just keep forgetting to do it but I might as well do it now...

Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel about... A4 Games is highly talented and made two good to great games (only played the first so I cannot really vouch for the second but it seems to have allot of love) in pretty horrible/spartan working conditions and in a nearly unwinnable situation (THQ was pretty much dead when the first came out and was dead before the second came out) leaving the game with I'm sure is allot of just good enough to be decent elements in it that they would undoubted fixed before shipping if given the proper chance to do so... (Not saying that it would be bug free... Nothing is, and certainly not in this day in age near constant connection for patching.)

Basically, I'm sure A4 Games could use the a good windfall and I'm not sure I would want to deny them the chance at it... Even if I don't support them by preordering it.

Lastly, I'm not sure how many noted it... But the system requirements for Last Light have gone up considerable... (From being able to play it with my video card to not being able to do so.) So there is something going on here other than just a fresh coat of paint.

The thing is those are really recent games already on the cutting edge visually so there really is no need for this other than a money grab. I get that they want to make them for next gen consoles but I'm not seeing why PC gamers need to be shaken down a second time to pay for more or less the same thing.

I also feel like this whole Deluxe/Director's Cut/Redux thing is a disturbing trend that's bad news for gamers and if we all just lie down and take it then everyone will do it.

Metro might get away with it because they're with a (somewhat) big publisher just like Square didn't give two shits with Deus Ex and went ahead in spite of the backlash, but it seems like the indies and smaller publishers, at least for now, are getting the point if people make noise about it.

Also, while I get that the studio had less than ideal conditions with both the THQ situation and the Ukraine situation, that's really not the problem of their customers. Selling games isn't a charity (even if Kickstarter is pretty damned close for all intents and purposes).

Yeah, I saw. Now that The Whispered World and Q.U.B.E got skewered for trying to pull that shit hopefully an angry nerdrage mob sets its sights on the Metro Reduxes.

Apparently, the developers fled the Ukraine and moved to Malta and need money now.
I hope Putin gets them!

I don't really disagree with anything your saying here... but you're not being shaken down. Buy it or don't. You have total choice in the matter and as you pointed out the games are complete and cutting edge tech already you don't have to have these versions.

And as for charity... No, games are pretty much a cutthroat business and *shrug* I've lost count of the number of developers that are long gone that I would love to give money to.

So, after staring at cases the past week and some additional options added from here the other day, I thought I'd get the peanut gallery's opinions. After re-evaluating my build, I've narrowed it down to 5 options...CM HAF 932 Advanced, CM Storm Trooper, CM HAF XB Evo, Corsair 650D and the NZXT Phantom 630. The 932 seems to have proven airflow design. The Trooper has probably my favorite finish of the bunch. I really like the layout of the XB, but I might or might not mod it for holding additional 3.5" drives. The 650D is a simple, but functional design and the phantom has a door (which I like because it doesn't block the front fan). My eyes/brain hurt from reading specs and watching youtube vids.

I know there is a PC section of the forum, but that is where questions go to die.
Are you going to OC? If so, the HAF 932 has the best temps on air of any of the cases you listed. The 650D is fantastic if you plan to do water cooling or an AIO closed loop water cooler system. If you aren't going to OC, all of those cases are very good quality (never used NZXT, so don't know) and I'd just pick the one you like that looks the best. I've used several CoolerMaster and one Corsair case and I was extremely happy with all of them. I still use a HAF X and Corsair 900D and I intend to keep them both for a long time on various builds.

I always select cases that have the hose ports in the back for H20 cooling.

Have you considered the Level 10? I'm trying to talk myself out of getting one, as I currently have no need for it. There is a great sale on it right now. ...

ripped from Slick Deals...

^_^ I'm pleased to see how many CAGs have Dell U2412M monitors =D.

For DLC there is the season pass which contains the Cold Cold Heart story DLC, the Initiation challenge map story, and both of the skin packs, plus buying the season pass gets you an extra skin or two I believe.

There's also the Black Mask challenge map pack, plus the two MP supply drop packs which just give you new color palettes and two guns for MP.

If you don't care about skins or challenge packs just go with the Cold, Cold Heart DLC.
Steering People away from more challenge rooms? ...that's the only part I have some confidence I'll like.

I kinda feel the same way. The combat/stealth in the Batman games has been pretty consistent and I figure the new developer couldn't get that part wrong. I'm not so sure about the level design and story, so if I'm buying Origins I want the challenge stuff. I sunk a fair amount of hours into it in Arkham City.

I like the 16:10 for my uses, but I dislike that I can't hook up a console to it and get the correct aspect ratio! I only have a 720p TV and would like to check out PS4 in 1080p on this thing, but not if its stretched.

Just had an epic 6 hour Infestation/WarZ gaming session. Public servers are still pretty much a PITA, but we tried a private server and the game was a million times better.

That is a crazy good discount. I'm not planning on water cooling since I'm not planning on OC'ing. I do like some of those features though. Especially the hot swap bays. Hmmm. Damnit!

Welcome to 2006.
Pfft' I made my account in 2004. I was ahead of the curve! (Not really).

Did your AOL mail get hacked?
Tbh, I'd have no idea if it did. It was made so long ago, nobody contacts me there, so there's nothing but thousands of spam emails waiting there for me. One day I'll go back, maybe.

I've been playing Go Go Nippon Japan Trip thingie game. I feel like a perv.

...

:whistle2:
You mean it's not a game about a realistic family-friendly trip to Japan solely for educational purposes???

Anyways relax, rule of thumb is that if your SO doesn't mind you being a perv, neither should you. :p

Just a heads-up on anyone wanting to buy SSFIV: Arcade.

The Ultra Edition drops on August 8th for $30 (same MSRP as SSFIV Arcade), with the upgrade to Ultra costing $15.

The $30 Ultra Edition also will come with all costume DLC previously available, which is currently in a pack for $14.99 (if you care about that sort of thing).

I have a nagging doubt that the upgrade to Ultra DLC will be less likely to see sales than Ultra itself, so I'm gonna hold off 'till Ultra sees a sale (preferably on GMG).
I did a bit of digging and both previous games where region locked so I suspect Ultra will be also... So I figured 7.49 now, and getting to play the game in the meantime, and the upgrade when I want it is a better deal than what I would likely find in the near future.

I'm pretty sure I had a Hotmail account back in 1997...

@hal--Depending on whom you choose to believe, the combat is either ripped straight from previous games (my feeling) or like what's in previous games but somehow worse (I don't entirely understand, after reading several reviews, how it's worse, but that's what they say).

IMO, Wolfman is right. I have the Season Pass and the only part I thought was worthwhile is the Cold Cold Heart DLC. Sure it's the same old Mr. Freeze origin you've seen several different times in different media, but it's still pretty well-done.

Then again, I'm the kind of person who gets tired of the chained challenge maps pretty quickly. It wouldn't be so irritating if you didn't get through two or three only to fail the next one a couple of times and have to start over from the beginning. I'm sure that sort of thing is some folks' idea of fun but it isn't mine.

Currently sending an email to everyone who had some sort of subscription to WGN to inform them of the new site.

It will probably take all day to send them.

Can you guys check your junk and quote me to let me know if it appeared in Inbox/Junk/Promotions etc. Thanks!

I bet that today's (disappointing) HB will probably be The Sergey Titov+HammerPoint HB...

...with Infestation Stories/War-Z + Big Rigs. ;)

I just finished Origins and don't see how the combat is worse than the others either. I prefer the story in Origins over City as well.

Really?

I'm 6 hours in - and I...

...just got into a battle w/ Deathstroke on the Penguin's ship.

Story doesn't seem to really be going much of anywhere, except for "OMG - 8 guys are trying to go kill Batman for some $!"

Does the story pick-up or something?

Or do these villains actually get interesting or anything?

What's keeping me playing is the combat, collect-a-thons, and big-world to explore, more or less.

I thought the combat in Origins was a bit worse, it wouldn't do what I wanted sometimes, and trying to do counters from a ground takedown almost never worked. I played some CIty right after and realized that it felt noticeably better, and the counters from ground takedown always worked. I still liked Origins, except for the damn bridge.

I like Batman: Arkham Origins so far...

...but for me, it feels like "more of the same" for the most part; and the story + characters really ain't even picked-up yet.

Batman: AA + AC were great to me; meanwhile this Batman: Arkham Origins here is so far just a solid game.

i didn't think the story and characters were all that amazing in the first two games either

Granted, I ain't super-far into Origins...

...but Black Mask, Penguin, Anarky, and Deathstroke (so far) do NOT seem even nearly as interesting as Joker, Two-Face, Scarecrow and some of the other famous villains in the previous Batman Arkham games.

It's cool to give lesser-famous villains a chance - but God, do something with them!

Even the fighting-game Injustice somehow made Aquaman freaking bad-ass....

EDIT:

Also worth noting - I think I had more trouble & challenge w/ the combat in AA + AC, as opposed to Origins. Origins seems to be much easier, this time around. I don't feel like I'm dying much at all here. Only thing to really give me some trouble so far...

...was The Deathstroke boss fight - probably b/c that felt like a mix of a half free-form battle + half-scripted QTE's

I thought Batman: Arkham Origins was a good stopgap filler of a Batman game.

I liked the introduction to some of the characters (although not as in depth as I would've preferred), flying around an Arkham City prior to later events was kind of cool, a few interesting story lines were presented (but nothing you didn't see coming), and the similar combat to previous AA and AC was good. I also liked how WB Games Montreal handled the few parts where Batman pieced together a crime scene. Unfortunately they weren't very difficult and served as a story or side quest hand-holding segue, but at least they were included.

I did have a few run-ins with poor counter-attack issues, always killing my high combos but it was nothing I was ever angered over in the game. However, the challenge modes proved to be a little more difficult in that regard which I didn't find as fun as the first two games. I don't know if it was just me but the battles with the various villains weren't very difficult, even on hard mode. Maybe the 'I Am The Knight' mode that unlocks after the first play-through ramps things up to a more appropriate level.

I haven't played any of the DLC yet, but overall it was a good Batman game. Nothing spectacular but more of the same which I was fine with overall.

I guess you ignored my earlier post, but.. it ended up in my junk mail and I use Outlook MSN Mail Hotmail.

Just so y'all know, Hotmail is called Outlook.com now.
I know. But I'll never get past the idea that Outlook is an email program, not an email host. Never!

Besides, I'm still pissed they removed the ability to export all emails in one account to another (because they said they needed to focus on Outlook or whatever).
