Riptide wasn't bad at all, I don't remember any grinding much. I played as Logan, weapon x, wolverine, and it was awesome. Regenerating health and claws and berserker beast mode. I never played the first dead island tho. The boat segments were dumb and so were the 2-3 'defense' segments, but it was a pretty good/easy plat. If you need any help I can always jump in, altho I said that to rpg about fuse like 2 weeks ago and still havnt been able to do those co op missions yet. I heard alot of hate on it, and it being an expansion more than a sequel, but I don't remember it being grindy/difficult at all. Even the 'extra' mini bosses weren't hard at all if you are prepared. Peace guys.

I also heard that the girl is alot better this game around, with her shooting. but I think if I played the other characters at all it was just for moments to get their respective trophies. I was basically snickty snickty the whole time.

Last night of CoD clan war. Another 1st place in diamond division probly, wootwoot.

k so i just checked truetrophies.com/riptide. I went ham on that game and platted within a week, so it can't be that hard. It looks like the last few I had were beating all missions co op (i had to do that last cuz I ran through solo my first playthrough) and the other co op trophy of marking 100 enemies for buddies to kill. Also the max level 70 was my last trophy also. It seems there are lots of collectibles, but I really don't remember a guide. They are all numbered and carry through new game +/co op playthrough, so if you are missing any just look those up. The game has a point of no return tho, some mission with tides in it, so don't do that final mission or else you can't go back. so yup. I remember I hated the boats/water so much in that game tho, lol.
Thanks for all the input. I didn't expect it to be a very difficult; I was mainly concerned about getting burned out on the grind to level 70. I had heard mixed feelings on the game so I was wondering if any of you enjoyed it. And it doesn't help that I've had mixed results streaming with Now so I'd hate to get halfway through a big game like that and start having problems.

The more I look at my backlog, the more I realize that there are a lot of games I'd rather play. If I thought there were any chance that I might actually someday get through it all then I'd probably go ahead and play Riptide, but I know better.

you get super bonus points if you get the mp trophies in binary domain. muahahaha.

Towerfall Ascension is really quite fun even solo. The campaign is challenging even on Normal. I have not had a chance to try the multiplayer yet, but will hopefully recruit one of my boys for the campaign and to try out the competitive tomorrow, but the competitive part will be best once I get a 3rd controller (a day very soon?!?) FYI, the instructions say R2 for dodge, but actually it's any trigger/shoulder button. I have not mastered dodging yet, though.

..... and you get bonus points from me if you pick binary domain out of all of those -and- stick with it until the end.
I see what you did there. I was digging it and it's close to the top of the list of my games to play; I'm just easily distracted. Which reminds me, I also have Yakuza 4 in my backlog...

So I've always despised beer, as the taste of hops makes me want to vomit. Any recommendations for beer that doesn't taste a lot like beer? I don't care if it's girlie as I have no shame.

And I love me some Pink Floyd, but Rush>Pink Floyd.

Yeah, I said it.
What state do you live in? It would help me make suggestions. If it happens to be Wisconsin: New Glarus Strawberry Rhubarb, New Glarus Raspberry Tart, New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red, and New Glarus Serendipity.

'Bout to 100% Entwined. Just got the hard trophy out of the way, but it's so painfully boring going back to replay a few of the story missions after finishing the really fast paced challenge mode. Game isn't too bad, though. The story mode is relaxing and the challenge mode is the exact opposite. Gameplay is pretty simplistic and the visuals sure are purdy!

Just got an Xbox One, been playing Forza all night.  It's really bugging me that the Xbox One can save your spot in a game when you shut it down and Sony is still working on it for the PS4.

I ended up buying an XB1 controller yesterday for the computer. I've been swapping my DS3 back and forth between the PC and PS3 for gaming, but the software I use often doesn't pick the DS3 up correctly. I would rather have bought a DS4 for the PC, but the whole wrapper bullshit thing is just so annoying to deal with. I'm not sure why Sony never released Windows drivers for DS3/DS4, but the XB1 drivers were as simple as plug it in and it works. That's nice enough to override the fact that the DS4 is a bit nicer, IMO.
I tried out the PS4 controller on my PC last week. You're right, having to use a wrapper to use the controller is an annoyance. The Xbone controller isn't quite as good, but it works well, I just don't like how flimsy it feels.

looking for some perspective on what to tackle next from my backlog. After I wrap up Uncharted 2, have the following options:

-Enslaved

-Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen

-Saints Row 3

-XCOM Enemy Unknown

-Shadow of the Colossus

-ICO

-Binary Domain

-Bioshock Infinite

-Brothers A Tale of Two Sons

-Metro Last Light

-Payday 2

-Ibb and Obb

-Tomb Raider

-Remember Me

-Puppeteer

-Hitman Absolution

-Infamous 2
Enslaved is a good quick game, worth checking out. If you're just looking to clear out a backlog, save Dragon's Dogma for last, the aftergame can really suck you in.

It took me a while to find a beer I could stomach, starting out. Once I did and was able to force myself to get used to it, I was able to move on to others pretty easily. For me it was Purple Haze. I can't drink it anymore, though. It's too damn sweet. Even when I started I could only do a couple at a time. Give that or another fruity beer a try.
I've tried a few beers, but just couldn't get into them. I just don't like alcohol, I never saw the point of it.

Play all of those games right now! Start off with some Metro :)

We need a 'dislike' button so I can use it whenever someone recommends Binary Domain.

@captain - I was waiting on the PS4 port to get back on GTA but you've tempted me. Everyone I played with bailed months ago. Not sure how far you are, but I'm level 20. And we obviously game at different times so not sure it could work (...BF4 remains mostly untouched).

I'm thinking about double dipping on Terraria for PC since it's on sale. I'm still going to finish my solo run on vita but the online community appears to be more active on Steam. Can't believe how addicted to this game I am. Again, fantastic. It's probably been mentioned but Starbound (striking similarity) is coming to PS4.

I couldn't get into Terraria. I have it on steam, but the one time I played, I played by myself and thought it was boring. My friend has like a hundred hours on it, so it's probably better if I don't play it solo.

I just started playing terraria the other day. I guess just like minecraft...I don't get it. I suppose I'm not creative enough and I need to play games where I have a specific goal to reach. Although my 7 yo can spend countless hours on minecraft.

Ill keep giving it a shot since its easily accessible on the vita and I have plenty of downtime at work to play on it.

I have all those games in my backlog as well except enslaved and brothers I finished. Ico I finished but no plat. I'd recommend the ones that I have played though. Brothers is good and short if that is of interest.

I was able to see Roger Waters at summerfest here in Milwaukee a few years back. He did a dark side show that was amazing. It was for sure in my top 3 shows ever, and I go to a lot.
I grew up listening to punk/hardcore/grindcore/etc, slide sideways into experimental electronic/rhythmic noise/idm, and now probably would rather listen to Pink Floyd over anything else. I don't totally understand how that happened, but it did.

Oh, and since everyone's talking about cover bands, there's an 'Australian Pink Floyd' show on opb/pbs/whatever it's called that has been airing lately. Have it on my dvr, haven't watched it yet. But if it's on pbs it's probably pretty solid.

USA should be grateful that it was a tie and not a loss. They faced Christiano Ronaldo, hes gonna be a legend. You guys should bow down to Ronaldo, your lucky that your even playing on the same field with him.
USA outplayed them the entire game, and they're lucky the US didn't crush them 3-0. Being 'grateful' that it was a tie would actually require them to have survived by the skin of their teeth... but the only team that did that was Portugal.

Valkyria Chronicles™ 2 i thought was a good game as well. again need the ps3 to transfer it though
Oh, yea, to the guy wanting military themed turn based games... VC is worth checking out. Different style, again, though.

Can the stupid multiple post trend die already? I already blocked the best attempt at it yesterday.

I'll also throw my vote in for Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, not because I thought it was really good (it was decent with a predictable story), but because you can finish it in one sitting.

What do you guys think of this as an extra TV to help squeeze in more gaming time?

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/westinghouse-32-class-31-1-2-diag--led-720p-60hz-hdtv/5420063.p?id=1219127070705&skuId=5420063&st=categoryid$abcat0101001&cp=1&lp=2
Assuming you are comfortable with the screen size and are looking for price over quality go for it. I had a westinghouse and it worked great for me for years. Other people will tell you they are awful TVs. They just arent the best picture out, but you also arent paying for that. Good TV for the price.

I also get upset when I hear Americans cheering for other teams over our own.
What's wrong with cheering for the country where your family is from if it doesn't interfere with the US? I always root for Latvia during the Olympic hockey tournament and it almost never interferes with rooting for the US.

No kidding? I didn't know they had that in place, that's awesome.

I suspect Sony ran in to some 'well this shit isn't nearly as easy on ps4 as it was on vita' problems. Hopefully they'll come through as it is a thoroughly dope feature.

New Resogun trophies tacked on to the DLC 'Construction Kit' according to psnp.  They added a trophy for completing the game in local coop without dying.  I predict no 100% for me on that game what with the lack of friends and all.

Thats what I said. You live in the US. I assume you are a citizen. If you are a citizen I assume you would rather be here then any other shit hole country. Cheer for other teams for whatever reason as long as it isnt OVER the US team. Otherwise you are a traitor like RPG.

Once I get a PS4 I will probably play Resogun first. I just dont know when I will get a PS4 at this point.

This is the first time I have ever agreed with both affa and breakfuss. Great job guys.

This is the last week for Sony to do another 15 for 12 months PS+ deal as mine expires Friday night. It'll be good to not worry about losing the card I've been hoarding since Black Friday. Y'all remember I called it when it doesn't happen.

Screwed up the quick South Park Plat run... i guess the not letting a buddy end a battle fainted also means if you lose the battle completely.... :(  It was a rental so I would have to play through again just to get that trophy.  will probably just buy the game if it gets cheap enough one day to complete it.

Started Wolfenstein, and like everyone has said, a very pleasant surprise.  One of the better shooters I have played at all recently.

USA didn't outplay Portugal and calling either team good is being dumb. USA underestimated itself and tried to play with the ball too much at the end, which is why the defensive miscue at the end cost them. A rookie iniated the attack that led to Dempsey cashing in on the second goal. I don't have any team preference, so I'll just judge them merit wise.

Music wise, I was raised on Sabbath, Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Megadeth, Ozzy (with fucking Randy Rhoads), Iron Maiden, so on, so forth. I enjoy a lot of genres now, but Metal is my one true love. Current favorite band is The Sword, even when their kick ass drunmer departed. In the prog department, I liked Coheed and Cambria, but after Burning Star IV part 1, they sold out. Mago de Oz is another awesome band.

Not sure how big of a soccer fan you are, or how much actual knowledge you have of the game, but that was one of the best performances of a US team ever. I thought they were done after the early goal and with the way they played against Ghana. They had no attack and to have to come from behind was surely not within their skill level. However, they did not panic and the amount of ball control they had against the level of play they were playing was not usual American soccer.

Overall I would say there were two players on the pitch that had the worst games ever, and those two were directly reason they gave up both goals. Bradley has had a horrible tournament thus far (Missing a wide open net, the turnover leading to the goal), and Geoff Cameron couldn't defend or get a clean clear of the ball all night. I don't get your point that a "rookie" help develop the play for the second goal?

In the end the attack was one of the best even without one of their best attackers that left them having to change strategy with the personnel they had available. Yes the end was bad and mismanaged on the field, mostly by a select few, but when you play high European talent, you can't have those moments. It was a big step forward, which this team has been doing for the last 6 years since the Spain victory in 2009.

What does that mean? I don't understand the concept of a band selling out. I wasn't a big fan of their last album but every other one I enjoyed immensely.
I feel that Claudio has just deviated from the vision the original albums represented. Burning Star IV part 2 was unfocused and I couldn't care for the following albums.

In regards to the soccer statement, I'm no expert, but I was forced to consume a lot of soccer because the ex gf is a soccer phenom. So yes, it is unfair to compare it to the European talent, but if you're playing in the WC, no excuses. You play to win. I don't like the trying mentality and US shouldn't be condoned for a "good performance". We could go on about this, bring out why we know, etc. No self respecting coach can go and say: "Let's see how it goes". (Which is what Jurgen said). You coach your athletes to win.

That said, I hope Germany and USA rig the game, so they can tie and boot Portugal out.

And I was talking about Bedoya, which looks considerably young and was the one who set up the opportunity for the second goal.

I currently use a plasma and before that used a 60hz TV for gaming and never noticed an issue or difference between the two.  Most people are like me and wont notice the difference.  If your TV is more than a couple years old its most likely 60hz and if it didnt bother you before it wont bother you now.

It was actually Deandre Yedlin who set up the second goal FYI.
