And I'm the death mask of a tragic Greek hero.

I don't really understand how it is that I'm typing these words, I don't have any hands. Or knowledge of the English language. Or a brain.

Sneaky Squirrel... you were hidding us your game.

I wasn't referring to lore but all of the gameplay mechanics. Even as a game developed after BL2, I would scrutinize it if it was as evolutionary gameplay-wise as the second was to the first. It's supposed to happen between the two games and explain more about Handsome Jack. Making such an advance would make this filler a lot better, thus making the completion of the story comparatively archaic as BL1 is to BL2; everyone recommends skipping the first in favor of the second. Criticism in the vein of the aforementioned "more of the same" is EXACTLY what I expect of essentially a 1.5 in the series.

Can you dig it, sucka?
I get what you're saying but mehhh. To me it's a third BL game...regardless of it's 1.5 or whatever, it's still a third game in the series; whether it's a spin-off or meant to be a smaller or less important entry or whatever, it's still a new BL game and should be judged for what it is. However, as I said in my first post, the changes they have made (moon physics, etc) seem to be enough for me to keep it interesting for now. My concern was more in regards to BL3 than the current game - if they come out with an essential carbon copy of BL1/2 in terms of gameplay, it's gonna get a little stale in my opinion.

I would like to say one thing regarding BLtPS... I hope someone figures out a way to mod the audio to reduce/turn off the low frequency hum that plays when you are in zero atmosphere. I have my computer hooked up to a HT system with just a small 10" subwoofer and that hum creates a constant pressure wave in my room that makes my ears feel like there going to pop like when you ascend quickly in an airplane. Super, super, super annoying. I got used to it (and by that I mean it was expected, not acceptable) after several hours, but damn.

So, did anyone start out as Claptrap? I was bouncing between starting him/it and Wilhelm.

If there's an option it'll probably be hidden in one of the ini files. Or, maybe there's an option for "Headphones / Speakers / Surround System" in the audio options that changes the levels to something more tolerable.

In other news...

I need XCOM:EW under $5. Make it happen, Steam.
You can get it for 80% off right now if you are a Playfire reward member (Free). Just connect your Steam account to it and play Enemy Unknown and it will unlock 80% off on GMG for it.

https://www.playfire.com/a/rewards

But considering this, I would be surprised if it didnt hit 75-80% off on Steam this weekend.

I've already got like 40+ hours in XCOM:EU... will I still get the coupon?

I think it means one hour of new gameplay time, since it's separate from play for the first time.

It makes sense since it's coupon rather than monetary reward.

I did and I decided it wouldn't be the best choice for solo play. When playing with someone using Claptrap, I must say that, visually, it is very hard to get used to the idea that the little guy isn't an NPC.

(Obligatory preemptive whine about weak Killing Floor DLC discounts)

Since Squirrel seems to be MIA...

The only thing Im concerned about with this free weekend thing is the servers are going to be hammered beyond belief all weekend. Add to that Payday 1 is going to be free to keep.

If you're considering installing something (besides the incoming free ones obvs) for the weekend, Id do it now.

And apparently those of us who owned Eufloria got Eufloria HD and the soundtrack for free.

... I didn't even know I owned Eufloria! I only noticed it 'cause an AStats popup told me!
It was in one of the humble bundles. Android, maybe?

Meh. I don't ever recall having my downloads slowed down because of heavy usage on Steam. I would guess download traffic is heavier during the big sales than for a free weekend like this.

Whenever there's a free weekend for a big game, download speeds tank and the Steam Community becomes highly unstable for everyone.

Android 4.
Thanks, but I still don't remember getting it. @_@ Heck it's fine by me, free soundtrack, woot.

Yep. I will say the saving grace for the summer sale just past that going to the commodity system was a great move.

Heck, I remember last winter sale and they gave L4D2 and it basically ruined an entire day of the sale. That's still the worst day Ive ever had on Steam. So many problems.

They're giving 10 games that are all pretty popular + Payday 1 is going to be free to keep. I expect the worst.

Did we talk about Abyss Odyssey already and did I miss it?

I picked it up tonight for 2 TF2 keys and I'm really enjoying it. It's like Rogue Legacy meets Trine, and I'm really enjoying it.

Cue people telling me it's about 90 minutes long.

I thought it was garbage.. got it free and regretted playing it. Also has some desync issues in co-op, but at least they added the ability to turn friendly fire off.
