Dark Souls needs to migrate out of GFWL already
https://twitter.com/JKartje/status/537119988243365889

So transition period should be starting on first week of December.

At least it isn't paid update like Dark Souls 2 DX11-update. Wait... I don't think they have said it's free...

Thanksgiving sale confirmed? No Midweek Madness and a 24 hour daily. I hope against hope they will bring back the Friends & Family sale from 2010 when you could buy like 10 packs of games. Organizing group buys is fun!
lol its been confirmed for something like a month now, but yes it starts tomorrow, also the weekly deals end tomorrow which was another sign

This sale will be an interesting test of how trading is handled after the huge change made yesterday.

If you really want one of those new games, it's not a terrible deal. Actually, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is in there for 18 bucks. So you can get a few dollars off a pre order plus a free game, which isn't a bad deal at all. Even if South Park hits 15 bucks in the upcoming couple of sales, it'd be like you're only paying 3 dollars for Lara Croft.

Actually you're right that's decent. I managed to get the new Lara Croft + season pass for 10 bucks, but since those days are over this is a good price if you want both.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... Steamworks, as in a form of DRM!?
For the Multiplayer, yes.

I'm all about Steamworks-support for games w/ MP portions.

If they want to have separate EXE's for SP-only (NO DRM) and MP (with Steamworks support) - I'd certainly be all for that, as well.

They could have the SP-offline EXE have no CEG; and MP EXE have CEG.

Though, I'd highly doubt they'd go that route - might be too much work to support 2 different EXE's.

More so than anything here - I want them to ditch G4WL.

Make it happen, From Software!

Agreed. That is exactly what I am doing. I wanted Temple of Osiris to begin with. And since I typically never buy new releases, quite a few of those free games aren't in my library yet.

Edit to add:

Just traded in Assassin's Creed IV (PS3) version for $6.00 Amazon credit. I only played it for an hour or so and had planned to go back to it at some point very soon. So I'm getting Temple of Osiris and getting a graphics upgrade with AC4 PC for 17.99 but getting that credit from Amazon (which I will use for Black Friday shopping) for, essentially, $11.99.

I'll take it!

Lara Croft: Osiris + something else looks like the best way to go.

I still ain't even touched LC and the GoTL.

If Dragon Age: Inquisition was $30, I'd probably be all over this. ;)

And then I'd probably take either AC4: Black Flag or South Park as my freebie.

I already own Watch Dogs, so that's a no go.

Looking at ITAD:

South Park's cheapest was $20 so far on Humble Store -> http://isthereanydeal.com/#/page:game/info?plain=southparkstickoftruth

AC4: Black Flag was $12 on GameStop PC Downloads (Uplay key) -> http://isthereanydeal.com/#/page:game/info?plain=assassinscreedivblackflag

Watch Dogs was listed at UPlay store for $40.19 (UPlay) -> http://isthereanydeal.com/#/page:game/info?plain=watchdogs

Dispenser.tf and TF2 Outpost are surely going to take a big hit on any upcoming game sales with the new trade rule. Brutal.

I wonder how this will affect the key buying & selling market on Steam. Historically prices adjust during the bigger Steam seasonal event sales.
Actually Dispenser.tf use stands to rise considerably. They already act like a trusted third party, sellers store their inventory on the dispenser.tf bot account, and the buyer already interacts (trades) with the dispenser.tf bot.

It would seem simple for dispenser.tf to break their current purchase transaction into two steps. (1) Buyer gifts payment(TF2 keys) to the dispenser.tf bot, and upon receiving the payment (2) the dispenser.tf bot gifts the purchaser the game.

This builds on what I already like about dispenser.tf:

  • automated transaction
  • I'm not going to get ripped off*.

*the only risk being gifts become region locked, but sellers are careful about this.

If Dragon Age Inquistion was only 30 bucks in that deal most people would be all over it

South Park's the best deal because nobody actually wants watch dogs

I had a blast w/ the gameplay in Watch Dogs.

I just wish the characters + story was much-much better than what the hell we got...

This game has already been easily worth the $7.49 it was on sale at that start of the weekend. Only complaints are that the tech tree doesn't truly branch, leaving you to craft furniture you'll never use for a while to get to spells and armaments you need, and dwarf AI being obnoxious when you're trying to recover a death pile without suffering more casualties (solved when you advance enough to gain some useful spells).

Borderland adventure game is on the list too, though I don't know the DRM on it.

I'd be pretty comfortable with that. I hope that's what will happen.

It's not Steam, so I'm going to GTFO, but F1 Race Stars is $1.74 on Origin. Their Black Friday deals have started and being a cheapass who loves F1 and racing games, this is a cheap racing cart game with an F1 theme.

Although Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed for $1 in the Humble Bundle is definitely the better deal.
