This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

For those who'd rather have Alice on Steam there's apparently an easy way to get all those dress DLCs by editing the ini file. I guess you still wouldn't get the first Alice but it's REALLY dated and has not aged well at all. If you must have it there's always torrents but not worth even that IMO.

Anyway, it goes $5 on Steam fairly frequently.

Can someone clarify the whole keys thing for me. My understanding is that if I buy a key from the market, it is untradeable for 7 days.

If someone else trades the key to me though, I can immediately trade it to someone else?

Why does Ashes get to post date rape pics but I can't post titty pics?

Your friend,

Because, my friend, in America violence is an accepted social norm. Nudity, however, is taboo.

In America they haven't given up their puritanical pilgrim roots, enforcing their prudish norms on everyone, while violently driving the native people off their ancestral lands. But no matter how obvious it is, don't draw parallels between them and ISIL or the Taliban.

You guys gotta moderate your quality posts, I'm running out of likes for the day.

Does anyone want to help me out?  I am considering picking up Skyrim again after a really long time away.  I want to add mods that beautify the game, address bugs, but leave the world largely intact.  Are there any quick easy guides?  Best tools to use?  Are there any easy mod collections?

I have Nexus Mod Manager and have installed the Skyrim Script extender and SkyUI.

Any good advice will receive grateful Likes from me.

Thanks!

From what I hear, South Park: The Stick of Truth does just that without any modding.

The easy answer is go to the Top Files section and pick and choose what you want. I'd definitely go with the all the unofficial patches and one of the HD packs, either official or modder created. Beyond that, it's really preference. I started with just a couple mods, but over my playthroughs I added well over 100. I nuked my install and am starting over now that I have a rig capable of all the ENB's and whatnot and I'll likely be over 200 mods this time around.

There's so much on the Steam workshop in relation to graphical improvement that it isn't funny. Developers released the official HD DLC for free, but here are some other collections for improving the look:

Static Mesh Improvement Mods

Maximum Graphics Pack

I can't actually run all of these at once because my graphics card isn't powerful enough, but I have the HD texture pack, auroras, dynamic fire, improved interior lighting, real grass, ragdoll physics, real snow, real water, and improved caves mods and the game looks fantastic.

I just sat through a minute and a half video waiting for something funny to happen. It didn't. :(

[edit: or was I supposed to have sound on?]

(@hostyl1 I don't get the 'RIPorted' joke either)
This any better for you (turn on sound, particularly, @ 1:13)?

It's RIPorted because people who have their posts reported and removed are usually either indefinitely silenced or banned.

riported in peace

@hostyl1 - Meh, different interests I guess. Sorry, wasn't really trying to start anything.  I was just expecting the dude to fall down or pass out or something.

@Blade ok, thanks for the explanation. Makes sense!

Last Remnant is $3.99 on gamestop if you have GS credit you wanna burn

http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/the-last-remnant/107503

Passing on it, people say its not that great a JRPG but maybe if you are desperate or something
it's more of a tactical game in the guise of JRPG. Great game and the PC port scale great in 4k resolution on my GTX 970 (via DSR).

the price however is not too attractive. I think it has been cheaper before and many got it for $1 from the past Square Enix bundle

I think Blade just pulled that explanation out of his ass, albeit based on personal experience in a way that's plausible.

Why does riported need an explanation? Riported is just riported.

Ahh, got it! Thanks Blade.

@motoki: I just have a fascination with the origins of words. Seeing a word constantly, purposefully, misspelled just makes me wonder why. Etymology is a hobby of mine I suppose.

So many people getting their panties bunched over riported and then getting all happy about a bullshit explanation. I think I am going to start intenshunli misspelling words to drive anal people crazy and then have them all go Ahhh Thanks SOOO much!!!! :) when I make up some nonsense reason.

You see it's spelled that way because it's when I concentrate it's really intense. And I'm a huge fan of Chun Li.

Ya, I'd always thought it was a rediculous sorta thing.

Anyone get through a 4 in February and wanna share? I got a late start and was worried I wouldn't finish four, and as an achievement sex worker, I checked out Astats' Time to 100% list and started from the shortest games. Here's what I did and brief thoughts:

1. Ninja Guy - close to utter shit

2. BasketBelle - not a sports game, but a nice tale about family

3. Spoiler Alert - backwards platforming, not nearly as complex as Braid, but not as pretentiously douchey either

4. The Shopkeeper - throws you into a non-linear narrative right at the start. decent idea, flawed execution and bad voice-acting

5. Potatoman Seeks the Troof - traditional platformer, with 1 or 2 controller-throwing moments. Not bad

6. Shelter - Awwwww. fucking birds.

7. A Bird Story - Awwwww. fucking birds.

8. Chompy Chomp Chomp - could be an entertaining couch game w/ enough alcohol. Impossible to 100% solo, needed help from daughter.

9. I, Zombie - decent, short mobile port. Simplest rts possible

Bonus

10. PoPoLoCrois (PSP not Steam) - only took 3 years to find enough reason to use my PSP long enough to finish this. Adorable but completely lacking in RPG depth or maturity.

My 4 in Feb:

Ghostbusters: The Video Game

Diablo III on PS3 couch co-op (Not including the expansion)

Murdered: Soul Suspect

Mirror's Edge (will finish  today)

Various other things I started in Feb and didn't finish yet:

Shadow Warrior (about half done)

Dead Effect (got bored a few hours in, don't really understand all the high ratings, but may go back to it)

Battleblock Theatre (playing co-op here and there)

Aerena (played @7 hours when everyone was talking about the free upgrade.  Never launched the free upgrade once I got it)

Skyrim isn't that demanding even with those heavy mods. You gotta worry about your VRAM though.

My 3.5 in Februrary

Fallout 1

Shadowrun Returns

Sly Cooper 1

Baldur's Gate 2

I'm not done Baldur's Gate 2 yet but I'm counting it because it's a gazillion hours long and I've already played it more than the other three games took to beat combined

I hate it when people change their avatars... first the mooby thing.. then I think spoder is motoki.  Jesus... can't we all just leave avatars alone?   :)  At least Bobby added boobs.
