This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

Yes, I also loved Episodes 1-4.

Even the 1st 2/3rds of Ep 5 seems like everything was going right - but there is that point where Ep 5 just falls apart + absolutely crumbled.

The game went to hell once the stealth mechanic sequence hit.

From there, no turning back - b/c the last 2 choices were ridiculous. There's obviously really only one choice here and that likely will be the canon set-up, as the other choice is utterly ridiculous.

They weren't kidding, titling the last episode Polarized. It's almost as if Square Enix told them, "Yep, set this up for a Season 2, please." With the obvious canon choice - there's No resolution, No closure, NOTHING.

ME1 gameplay (back when I played it) was still pretty decent, other then hating the driving around parts. At least it wasn't as bad as AC1 in that regards, in that I'd be willing to go back and play ME1 still while I wouldn't touich AC1.

Platinum has been teasing some stuff lately. Bayonetta got updated with an avatar from Vanquish in the extras folder leading many to believe a Vanquish port is coming next.

They have also posted some clips from Bayonetta games which play three times in a row possibly hinting at Bayonetta 3 coming.

Was out sick today so pretty much just played Life is Strange the whole day, just finished it. I either got accustomed ot the dialogue or it was just abnormally bad in the first episode. It seemed to grow on me as a game the longer I played it, but I thought the 5th episode was the weakest one and it gets a bit out there. I'd say as a whole it's worth playing though.

Since it's not owned by 11 bit studios anymore I guess it would be hard to see any Anomaly game as free gift. Although I checked domain and it looked it was registered by a polish guy. It still has shown 11bitstudio as owners so forget what I said.

My bets are any of those G2A polish games from previous bundle deals.

Just a quick bro heads up, tonight we play Black Mesa from the monthly.  Tomorrow is Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.  It's a free 8 hour trial from Origin, you just want to make sure you start the DL tonight as it's 20GB.  Thursday is some bundle trash called Marooners.

Little late on the Life is Strange talk, but I loved that game. I have to admit I'm a bit of a sucker for teen dramas though. My memory's so bad that I can't remember what happened in the final chapter too well, but I do know I get chills every time I hear Spanish Sahara. I already loved that song, but the sequence with it in the end was so well done that I have no complaints about the ending.

I'm working on a new AMD build and I'm looking for a decent freesync monitor to use with it and also double as my monitor for teleworking. Amazon has the 27" ViewSonic VX2757-MHD for $156.99 and I haven't been tracking prices for long so I can't tell if this is a deal I should grab or if I should wait for something better. Any thoughts? Criticisms? Insults?

According to CCC, that's the lowest it's been. Bought it last year and haven't had any problems. Looks pretty good using the settings here: https://displaylag.com/viewsonic-vx2457-1080p-gaming-monitor-review/

Not yet! I'm actually saving it for when my family will be out of town in a few weeks. I need to be alone if I want to fully experience this masterpiece of what is undoubtedly the finest genre in gaming. Fact is I need to be alone for a lot of things.

Was going to add a #inb4ultrawidefoxrant to my original post but I figured it wouldn't do any good. Though ultrawide might actually come in handy if I use the monitor for work...shheeeiiit, you've planted your ultrawide seed in me.

What exactly is your AMD card?

And what resolution is that AMD card benchmarks have it capable of, at its maximum?

Are you aiming for 30 FPS? 60 FPS?

I'd guess w/ your monitor - you'd be aiming for 1080p, right?

Hmmmmm, looks like that TN panel monitor's 1080p at max. I dunno if I would want 27'' with 1080p myself, as I think it might be a bit pixelated for my tastes. Keep in mind: I sit very close to my monitor, mind you.

Even at 1080p on my old 24'', I still made sure to crank up AA+AF to stop jaggies, blur & other possible pixelation.

I've also probably been ruined by 4K at 27'', also. So much space on the desktop + so much easier for me to work in at 4K. Can get so many more Windows open at 4K on the desktop.

I often run my games at 1440p and very few of them at 4K with my 970 (i.e. WWE 2K series of games). B/c of downgrading blur on anything I'm rendering 1440p b/c I'm using a 4K monitor, got to crank AA+AF up as much as possible.

Thanks MysterD. I already have a 1440p monitor and a primary gaming PC that's pretty beastly. I'm mostly building this new PC for fun, and it will probably be something I eventually give to my son. I might even let my wife use it. As for the graphics card, I still haven't decided. It will be an AMD build, so maybe a new 580?

Anyway, I'm pretty much just looking for a fairly cheap 1080p monitor that I can use for work but doesn't totally suck for gaming. If I ever get a 4K monitor it will be for my main machine, but I'll probably save that purchase for when I'm done making alimony payments on the divorce that will surely be a direct result of my obsession with building a stupid PC that I don't actually need.

Is it really worth putting a RX 580 in there if you're only doing 1080p, though?

RX 580 looks like it's 1440p-capable here to me, going through the benchmarks and all:

If you do plan to upgrade to a 1440p monitor at some point w/ that RX 580 - yeah, it'd be worthwhile to do so, if you're future-proofing.

It's not always necessary to run Ultra, Max, or Extreme settings on games, IMHO. Sometimes, even Good or Very Good are honestly plenty, TBH.

Also...a lot of times, there's NVidia Game Features (or whatever AMD Exclusive Features exists); Hair Physics; and/or some silly graphical setting(s) that you can turn down or turn off to boost the game to the often-desired 60FPS PC-gamer standard.

Oh yeah, the 580 is a bit overkill for 1080p gaming, but I'm looking to future proof a bit. Plus, on occasion I might hook this thing up to my 4K TV and relive my halcyon days of couch slopping console pissantry so the extra juice won't necessarily be wasted.
