Well, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was just a little blue blob telling you what to do, and people say it was one of the best games ever.

So, yeah.

I sunk a few hours into BDO yesterday, though I only bought the base game, so no redemption packs for me, but thanks to the holiday boost, I'm up to level 19.

I'm doing the real important stuff: making beer and fishing.
If you level a Striker class right now (for a month or something) you get a TON of perks for ever 20 levels. At level 55 you get something like 15million silver coins. I went from 19-29 today in 30min w/ the 100% exp buff + 200% exp buff for 30min that you get for hitting a certain level on any character.

(though actual level isn't as imperative as gaining skill levels)

If anyone has some ideas for how I can figure this out, greatly appreciated.
That sucks Bah.

My money's on mobo as well.

I did a brand new microATX build for my friend a few weeks ago and we ran into a similar issue. It wouldn't power on whatsoever if something was plugged into the PCI-E slot. It turned on fine without it, ran fine with integrated graphics, and my PC booted up fine with his GPU in it.

Got a different mobo and everything worked fine first try.

As Admiral said, it's tough to track down mobo problems. I kinda think it's the least explored possibility because we don't want to believe it's the cause. It's such a pain in the ass to deal with (essentially rebuilding your PC).

Good luck!

Anyone else get "Too many requests" errors on the market?  Only seems to show up when trying to view a card's page.

I can only suspect it is from Steam Economy Enhancer trying to pull prices for hundreds of items at once.

It may not be the mobo. Its the GPU unless its the PCI-E slot. I'm using onboard video right now as I type this and the only time I get a failure is when the GPU is plugged in. MSI has a 3 year GPU warranty so going to RMA it once I get in our new place later this week. Will be down for the count for a few weeks probs, but better than having to shell out for a new GPU right away. If its the mobo, then I'll replace that with the same model.

And it's not the lack of story, more like the lack of direction. Like... how do I go about fishing or crafting or even figuring out how to redeem my items that I bought. These are like 101 kinda things. Instead I have a keh keh black thing who's just pointing me to the next thing to kill.
I think I mentioned before that all the aspects of the game are pretty overwhelming when you get going. Like someone else said, the best way to go about things is watching videos about the different functions or reading newbie guides (I did the latter). The game tries to teach you, but there's SO much text in the game that I feel like the translation was very bare bones and frequently falls flat in terms of connection with the player.

That said, you can also talk to your little black blob and ask him about different skills, at which point he'll direct you towards tutorial quests that deal with them (cooking quests, fishing quests, etc), and those are great for learning the basics. There are still a myriad things that aren't explained well (especially nodes and whatnot), so I'd recommend checking out some newbie guides.

The black sprite and the story is very odd, but I will say that it gets more interesting as you go. I do think the main problem connecting with the story is definitely the sterile translation, though.

I was literally going to post that until I saw you already did, lol.

At retail price it's competing with the XB1 Elite controller, which will probably fare better than this.
The XB1 Elite Controller is actually a piece of garbage. The front bumpers break extremely frequently. Stay far far away from those.

Forza Motorsports 6: Apex Premium Edition - $8.49
I honestly hadn't even noticed this game and got all excited before I realized it's a Windows 10 exclusive and more akin to a demo than anything else. It's basically GT5 Prologue, apparently. Granted it is free (while Prologue wasn't), that's just the version with extra content.

I really hope the full version isn't locked to Windows 10... I continue to hear horror stories about that shit.

It's just weird to me that having the GPU in would prevent booting. If the GPU were busted I would expect your PC to boot, and never recognize that there was anything in the slot (e.g. no video unless you had it connected to onboard), or at least fail during POST or something. That's why my gut feeling is it's the something in the mobo relating to the PCI-E slot.

Yeah, I can't rule it out. I have no way to test the card at the moment though since we're moving on Thursday, so can only go on what I know so far. Nothing fired up at all until I removed the power from the GPU, then it posted and booted as normal i.e. when I was testing each component, everything other than the GPU was taking power. Either way its not the worst of fixes, but I wont be PC gaming for a few weeks. The GPU is under warranty and if the replacement doesn't work, I can get a mobo that will work with my components at a decent price. Hopefully by mid-end of June everything will be settled and back to normal. At the very least I'll do some housekeeping once we move in and do a fresh Windows install and that sort of thing before the new card gets here.

I dunno Ive been using mine for probably 2 years now (at least it feels like that, I guess they only came out like 1.5yrs ago) and havent had any problems. I love the feel of it compared to the standard xbones. Then again I also got it for free, aint no way in hell Id pay 150 for a damn controller

Pleasantly surprised by Tequila Zombies 3 I picked up from a recent IG bundle. I thought I'd play it rather than idle it for cards since it's a small download. It's pretty entertaining and well presented. It's a retro arcade game with lots of action movie references. I'm glad I gave it a chance.

Yeah, I'm sure there are lots of units that have no issues. That's the thing though, an $150 controller with an extremely high defect/break/whatever-you-wanna-callit rate... That's just ridiculous, haha. For free, hell yeah. For $150, not worth the risk, especially considering the fact that M$ only covers them over a pretty short window of time and then washes their hands of it.

I'll second or third or whatever the MOBO suggestion. It doesn't hurt to get the GPU warrant fixed, but about a year ago I had similar hard to trace issues with a build I was helping my brother with and we could not figure out what it was. What sucked most about our situation is we thought it was the MOBO from the start and we even had it RMA'd, so when it came back we assumed it had to be something else. After months of troubleshooting, I checked the MOBO closely and saw that the one they sent us back had been physically damaged on the circuit board, but by then it was out of warranty. My bro ordered a new MOBO and everything worked fine instantly once he installed it.

I ignored this on Tremor due to the stupid name, but I just ordered a copy so it better be good. Of course, the real TrumpCat would only play an American game, like Craft Beer Hipster Zombies 3.

QB is worth avoiding, I thought. I regret wasting my time with it.

I thought for a moment that MS actually had a really good deal on a Forza title, especially for a play anywhere title. Then I discover that 6 isn't a play anywhere title, and therefore isn't a good deal. meh.
I tried out Forza 6... most of the time I could only see the sky, racing line, and crowd, so it looked like I was flying through the sky full of hovering people. I still came in first.

Apex is the Windows 10 version of Forza 6. Granted, it's a free to play game so it's setup differently but I figure Turn 10 wanted to practice on PC before Forza went all in on PC.

The part fox mentioned is the DLC portion of Apex. The DLC is not free.

Anyhow, nice find Fox!

I can only hope the final product isn't Windows 10 only. Considering it's a freebie early access sort of thing, I can understand them using the most current Windows, highest version of DirectX, whatever. For the final release I'd be really surprised if it was Windows 10 exclusive though... A LOT of people refuse to upgrade to 10 for good reason, so it would be really strange for them to alienate that market. It's not like Forza 6 is going to make all that many people go "Oh fine, you got me! I'll upgrade."

There really is no incentive for MS/Turn 10 to modify the game to use another API dx12 is pretty much what they're using on the xboner, the cost of modifying the engine to use dx11 is probably deemed not worthy. I think it's safe to assume this will be staying as a Windows 10 and beyond title.

It got me to upgrade... *shrug*

And if you want any of their play anywhere games that upgrade is going to be pretty much required.

Hey at least there's no family/character name with odd naming convention going on with Windows 10.

I was a bit surprised when I saw the setting... Montana not really a state that describe excitement to me so I figured they would continue with more exotic locals. Also I sort of figured Ubisoft would avoid the US after the fallout from Rainbow Six Patriots, which was cancelled and replaced with Siege.
I guess it's all a matter of perspective, but Montana is home to some really spectacular wilderness areas. In addition to millions of acres of true wilderness, there are national parks like Glacier and parts of Yellowstone.

As far as wildlife, you've got bison, grizzly bears, mountain lions, bobcats, coyotes, wolves, elk, moose, lynx, and more. That's a pretty healthy variety of large mammals.

I don't live there or anything, but I have been there a few times. I can definitely see how it could be a good location for a wilderness survival kind of game.

So since you all are talking about MMOs, thought I'd mention I jumped back into Guild Wars 2 last night for about 2 hours with the wife. That game really holds up, IMO. Even with the graphics lowered for my older 2nd PC, it looks and runs great. We had a good time starting up new characters and plan on playing more. We were debating on what game to play and picked GW2 over Star Wars: The Old Republic since we haven't played much of GW2. The questing is much more fluid in GW2 and feels like a step up over having to go back and forth between quest givers.

I had a blast on playing GuildWars2 until I hit the level cap. Then it was like oh, what do I do from here? Everything was super expensive and endgame grindy. But the leveling in GW2 was some of the most enjoyable leveling I have done in any MMO ever. Uncovering the 'Vistas' was the main highlight of the game. You'd have to climb to a hilltop to uncover the fog of the map which acted like towers from other games. But they were so incredibly well-designed and got more complicated as you progressed. Eventually you were looking for hidden pathways and traversing chasms in order to get to the top of the vista. The inks for armor customization were fun to collect too.

Leveling really is fantastic and I'm not too worried about the end game because my wife will probably get bored way before then, lol. The vistas are really fun but also annoying as hell sometimes. Making it 90% up the mountain before falling is just the worst. Again, back to my wife, she hates them because she is not super accurate with her controls. We had the same thoughts on some of the Datacron locations in SWTOR.

I really hope we play long enough to get into some of the larger group events, never was able to experience much of it before. There really is a ton to do in that game.

Side note: I am sorta regretting my profession choice of Engineer this time around due to the low number of weapon choices, though we'll see how I feel after unlocking more of the kits.

I am seeing some reviews for Worms Clan Wars that say online multiplayer doesn't work (alternatively other reviews say the people having problems don't have a clue). Somebody check that out before I waste a dollar.
I couldn't test if fully, but I just loaded it up, did the tutorial and was able to get into an online game lobby with some random person and it had the invite friend option for me. Who knows if it would crap out if I started the game, but don't have time to play a game at the moment.

Some of those are pretty sad. Even more sad is that google thinks that tomorrow and diarrhea are 11-19 letter words.

Anywho, after giving up hope of getting my 970 welfare check after parallacks got his a month ago, mine finally arrived today. Time for another new build.

sweet, i had given up hope on mine too. Buddy got his a month ago as well and i still been waiting

We have an X-Files case in Wisconsin.

DBGGiAHUMAED3AS.jpg
This is actually pretty surprising. After growing up in Wisconsin and moving away, I'm completely used to people from other states having no idea how to pronounce/spell it (hint: there's no East-sconsin, so that should be a dead giveaway there's no Wes(t)-sconsin either), but locals really probably should have figured it out, there's no excuse. The truly bad news is that the state is perennially one of the country's top ACT performers, so if they're becoming this dumb en masse, it's a pretty good bet the entire nation is verging on sheer imbecility.

Almost as fun is NC. I'm imagining a small Carolina town ordering "200 Angles" for their nativity display and being subsequently overwhelmed by the arrival of a band of Germanic barbarian invaders.

What if we get attacked by a Fox?

EDIT:

Well, looks like Black Ops 3 has like a 19GB update.

And Mafia 3 has an update b/c of the new DLC released today.
That blops update depends on what you own. They started the MP trial dlc. For 30 days everyone can play on every dlc map, and you get 2x XP on map packs you own and 2x XP on all maps if your an SP owner. So you just downloaded all the dlc maps with that update

The majority of the people in here wouldn't know the difference between 'Wisconsin' and 'Wisconson' without a spellchecker.  who are you kidding.

The Golf Club 2 was just announced (to me anyways), always wanted to play the first one and look forward to it being in this month's HBM that I just unsubcribed from.

XCom 2 players; is Shen's DLC worth getting i.e. does it make for a better first play through or help with subsequent play throughs?  I wrote off getting the other 2 DLCs were cosmetics and a random boss generator that had the habit of spawning fights at inopportune times.
