Bah was a great guy and will be missed.  As one of the early core guys in the whole "Bros" thing, Bah helped make innumerable bad games into entertaining nights with his infamous stream of bitching combined with a genuine friendly enthusiasm.  He will be deeply missed yet I'm glad to have gotten to spend time with him and to have been part of his regular home on the internet.  He'll be better remembered than he would have guessed.

I never idled any games with him, but it always sucks to hear someone died.

I can't wait to hear some news about Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 next week.  New release PC gaming has been a snoozefest for quite some time.  Nothing is evolving; Valve doesn't do anything either.  Everything is MOBA, E-sports, games-as-a-service, old ports, or decade old MMOs.  This is the game to reinvigorate some interest in single-player narrative driven PC gaming.

I didn't really know Bah all that well. He started posting here right around the time I started to recede into into the background. Despite that fact, the news of his passing is pretty shocking.

From the accounts others have given, he sounds like he was a pretty good guy. I feel like I missed out by not getting to know him better.

RIP Bah.

I always enjoyed this series as a newbie-friendly fighter, but hated what they did with the last game making it free to play and having ridiculously expensive DLC outfit packs.
The cosmetic DLC was ridiculous, yes, but remember that there was a paid release that included all fighters except for two or three that came out afterwards, and that release did come with at least a decent variety of alternate costumes, even if by the end of the DLC cycle there were probably hundreds of DLC costumes.

The worst part of DOA5 was without a doubt the terrible support for the PC version, but what do you expect with a Tecmo Koei game?

On a completely unrelated note, RIP the archbishop.

RIP Bah.

I certainly didn't know Bah that well, but still - he's one of us CAG's from this thread. And to lose one of our own CAG's, that always sucks. :(

And it sucks that he's gone so soon...and y'all are saying what a great person he is, which really makes this suck even more so. The good ones always seem to go too soon from this world, as this world really needs the good ones; that's for damn sure.

And I'm certainly not gonna forget the BF1 bro nights that I actually showed up for...and yes, Bah was there. And I had a damn blast w/ the entire Bro Club. Makes me wish I wasn't so solo'ing my games most of the time, set in my own ways, and actually showed up for more Bro Nights, as I only really got to be entertained by Bah and barely got to know him from those few BF1 bro nights I showed-up for, when they had the 10 hours trial for it.

Sad to hear about Bah's passing. Bah was always quite the presence, especially during our times playing BF1 together. His hilarious rage against Hellriegel players will always be remembered by me. Condolences to his friends and family for their loss.

Always sad to hear about a passing of anyone. I know we're a strange community at heart, but we all mainly get along. Sounds like he will be remembered, but always hard to replace.

Infamous stream of bitching combined with genuine friendly enthusiasm is the perfect way to describe Bah. Bah made every bronight fun, and no doubt brought a special energy to bronights that made them a blast even when the games were duds. Bah always had something to complain about in a non-mean spirited way that always brought a laugh out from me. And genuine friendly enthusiasm/playful teasing is what made Bah so fun to hang out with.

FWIW, EA also announced their own version of Game Pass called Origin Premier, which includes not only Origin Access titles but also new EA releases (Madden, Anthem, BF V, etc.). $15/month, $100/year. I'd be down for a month of that to give Madden a shot.

RIP.

Nice to see Madden returning to PC after a decade. Madden 08 PC was very outdated visually, even for its time, but it did have Xbox 360 controller support with icons, along with an extensive modding community keeping rosters updated.

Activated Yooka-Laylee, which I nabbed from Tremor, after mulling whether to trade it or not. Glad I activated it, as it is a solidly enjoyable game with nice visuals. I still feel that Poi, another modern 3d platformer that was in a past Humble Monthly, is probably preferable over Yooka. It probably comes down to better camera controls, and my preference for the Mario 64 template over the heavy collect-a-thon style of Yooka, despite Yooka's better art style and production values. Besides the camera, the inability to jump once sliding is another annoyance. Nevertheless, I do recommend keeping it if you have a key and are deciding what to do with it.

Check out A Hat in Time.

I'm certainly glad to see Madden return to the PC, since '08 was the last one.

Certainly, $100 per year w/ Origin for their biggest titles like Anthem, Madden, BF5, etc is interesting - as I'm not much to replay games and I do feel a lot of them do have a shelf life.

With Origin Premier, do you get these big titles on Day 1 release?

EDIT:

Answering my own question: looks like games for Origin Premier will arrive be right before or on Day 1 public release:

Nice. I have been a subscriber of Humble Monthly for a long time (not from the beginning though), and Poi wasn't in my library. I'm definitely going to check it out for my YouTube channel that's dedicated to indie games. Game looks great. Thanks for the recommendation.

Oh, FML!

When was that $4?

when the hell did that happen?

https://www.pcgamer.com/shadow-warrior-2-pricing-error-briefly-drops-it-to-4/

We expect the price of new games on Steam to drop 50 percent within a year of release, but 90 percent? That's an awfully spirited discount for a game that's under a year old, so we were surprised earlier today when we saw Shadow Warrior 2 had been discounted to just $4 on Steam.

The Midweek Madness sale pricing, as brought to our attention by Wario64 on Twitter, turned out to be an error. Publisher Devolver Digital took it in stride, though, telling everyone to "get it while it's hot." The discount was corrected quickly, going from 90% off to the expected 25% off.

So Chrono has added some new games to their Coin Shop:

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad with Rising Storm - 7500 coins

War for the Overworld - 15000 coins

Dead Cells - 40000 coins

I'm currently sitting on 34000 coins and I don't see myself hitting 40000 before Dead Cells is out of stock.  Kind of sucks, but great for anyone who has enough to get it and wants it.

Speaking of Chrono, I still haven't missed a day other than the very first when the coin shop launched.

Had I not wasted coins on Action Henk and Mini Metro (both in HIB 19 in late March, 2-3 weeks after they appeared on the Chrono coin shop), I'd have enough for Dead Cells.

I wouldn't buy it, of course.

I'm surprised no bundling of Enter the Gungeon too. Also Card Quest (this is a great game). Both are worth playing anytime though.

I'm one of the few who thought the Division was a generic romp....though I played before the overhaul. I never played that because I traded it in before that. Hopefully Division 2 is OK. I generally play Ubi games a year later for discounted full gold edition prices, but that's just me.

Microsoft swinging big this years.

Gears of War 5, Forza Horizon 4, Halo: Infinite, Crackdown 3, new Ori game, a new From Software game, buying out 5 studios, etc etc.

And they mentioned that they are working on another XBOX console.
