Do you... ever read what you've just written? Whether or not a something is a disappointment is purely subjective. It's based on the individual in question. As such, what you are describing is very much about you, and what you consider worthy, and your level of patience, and your backlog. All of those factors contribute to whether or not you would consider the Bastion reveal to be disappointing. You are contradicting yourself. And this blatant contradiction is motivated by some bizarre desire to characterize the Bastion reveal as a disappointment for everyone, when it is clearly a personal issue for you. Don't try to impose your own disappointment on others, just own up to the fact that you are personally let-down.
I'm not disappointed in the surprise reveal in the slightest. Bastion is one of the must-haves on my personal list. I'm also not someone who refuses to buy physical games that I already own digitally. If I were, there are lots of LRG titles that I would have previously passed on.
*Sigh* Where do I even begin? How about at the very beginning, shall we? Why not take a look at my very
first post on this topic. I'll even help you with that:
Sadly, I have to admit to being disappointed that it's Bastion. A seven-year old game that everyone and their cousin already owns in one form or another isn't exactly relevant anymore, regardless of how great it may be. I won't judge the game itself because I haven't played it, but the fact that I've had it in my Steam and PS4 libraries for years and haven't had a burning desire to actually boot it up and play it doesn't exactly scream to me, "You need another copy of this on disc!'
What does that first line say? I italicized it for emphasis. "
I have to admit to being disappointed."
I. So clearly, from the very beginning, I have stated that this is
my opinion. People communicate by expressing their opinion, we all have them and
I am sharing
mine. Yes, opinions by their very nature are subjective, and just because
my opinion is that of disappointment does not mean that any of this is about me as Bojay insinuated. Bojay's shot down my opinion, accusing me of not having any patience, zero backlog and essentially acting like I was complaining about the release.
My response to his comment was that this is not about me, my patience, my backlog, or anything else -- because it is not. I knew from the e-mails leading up to this reveal that the mystery game would be one that is on both PS4 and PS Vita. Right from that moment, I knew it was not a game I was planning to purchase anyways, since there are no games they've announced, that I'm interested in, that are also on the Vita. As such, I had no stake what-so-ever in what the game ended up being since I knew I wouldn't be buying it anyway. Therefore, no, it is most certainly
not about me. My disappointment is because this mystery game turned out to a game that's been out for seven years now.
I expected something special, something like, "Oh wow, that's a cool release, all this hype was worth it." However, because it was, in
my opinion, nothing special,
I was disappointment.
A person can be disappointed in things and criticize them without making it about themselves.
I was disappointed by the "big reveal" of why everyone was killing themselves in
The Happening,
I was disappointed in the "big reveal" at the end of
Hereditary, and yes,
I am disappointed in the "big reveal" of what the LRG mystery game is this week. I'm sorry that I have to get all defensive and everything, but I really hate to argue and it drives me up a wall when I get sucked into a debate and have to defend my right to express my opinion. I swear, I posted one comment about being disappointed and it should have been left at that, but noooo, unless you're kissing LRG's taint in the process, your opinion apparently doesn't matter here.
