The only ones of those I'm excited about are Metamorpho and Mister Miracle. There's a couple of interesting selections there, but variants on commonly available heroes aren't that interesting at this point.

At least Metamorpho should be pretty easy to feel for.

LEGO is just being lazy. I think doing classic Batman is a great idea. I get doing retro figures. But with a series of 16 (Why not more?) figures 8 retro and 8 completely new ones. I know very little about super heroes and even I recognize most of the figures there from previous sets. These are very 'meh'. Not worth $5.

Other LEGO news, a white baseplate is reported to be coming out in 2020. Tan has been retired for the moment. Great for Winter Village setups.

'Sales': Target after having one of the best LEGO sales of the year is having the lamest sale of the year. Get a $10 gift card when you spend $50. None of the sets are over 10% off MSRP. However there are newer sets. Also includes $100-$400 D2C sets.

But it's also the last day of VIP double points so that's a better deal if you fixed the mess LEGO made with it.

News: Ghostbusters is rumoured to return next year. The deal with Playmobile was never exclusive. I wonder if we will get an actual set or just another version of the Echo.

The Ultimate 1989 Batmobile has three exclusive figures.

Also how is Best Buy one of the last stores? They have been awful for at least 15 years. So I hope you sue them out of business.

I just bought a Pop Up Book for $32 with a destroyed box from AWD.
Cool, I will send you something for sure. It may just take a bit of time because my partner's parents are in a mandatory evacuation zone in northern CA so we are dealing with that this week. Been quite a month for so-called "acts of god" around here.

Fortunately I don't have to sue Best Buy. My insurance company has already paid me and is trying to get reimbursed by Best Buy through subrogation. I am sure Best Buy has insurance and that will pay the claim. Even if they didn't, I am not sure my tiny little claim would put a dent in their financials. I'm like a fly on a fly to them.

Have fun with the pop-up book. I just put mine together last week and the mechanism is really neat. I want to try to build some other scenes to sub in. I paid $40 on AWD. It's definitely worth $32.

You are the most awesome person in the universe. Just saying. I forgot the Harry Potter Castle, not the $400 one, the one that connects. I'm not even a fan of HP I just think having a set or two a year that connects to a previous set is awesome and want to support LEGO doing more of that in the future.

In my mind Best Buy is so close to closing that you suing would drive them under. Of all the places I'd love to see close in the last 20 years I wish they would have been it. So horrible.

I plan on changing out the Little Red House to a gingerbread house for Christmas. I really don't like the house the set comes with so I want to play around with it to improve that mess.

Can you salvage some of your damaged Lego too? That would be awesome if you got paid, plus were able to save some of your sets.
I salvaged everything other than some boxes, instruction booklets, and stickers. There's also one train motor that I assume won't work, but I haven't tested it.

Some non-LEGO stuff was ruined (books, a few blu-rays, etc.) but I got paid out decently well for those as well.

No complaints, honestly. As bad as insurance companies are, they did right by me in this instance.

Hmm, maybe I should've contacted my insurance company when our basement got moldy.  I had to throw away some Lego boxes and pretty much all my DVD cases.  I doubt they were worth anything though since I got to keep the actual discs.

How many sets total did you loose? I have wayyyy too many sets, I would hate to go through that. Sorry to hear about the trouble with your parents, I have an uncle in Santa Rosa.

A lot of policies have exclusions for mold, sometimes depending on the cause of the mold. So it's possible that the claim would have been denied. But in general, for the future, always worth putting in a claim, in my opinion.

I can't speak for all insurance companies or policies, but the way mine works, if part of an item is damaged and you can't easily replace that part, you get paid out for the full value of the item. Again, just something for the future (although hopefully it doesn't happen again).

Thanks, yeah, my partner's family is about 20 minutes north of Santa Rosa. Hope your uncle is okay.

Fortunately I was able to salvage all of the sets other than some boxes, stickers, and instruction books. It was annoying but it all turned out pretty well.

I was thumbing through the new LEGO catalog I got in the mail today and something stood out to me.  A LEGO mullet.  Hilarious.

Double posting for some important info. Brickfan has a set list of some of the retiring sets for the year. Ones I think people here might care about.

Full list...

Still pissed I missed the $100 NinjaGo City by 5 seconds.

I bought 15 Series 19 minifigures from Target, then bought 20 for $46 on eBay. So I'm obviously returning them to Target. What's everyone's 5 favorites for doubles? I'm thinking, dog walker, gardener, gamer, knight and the FAB-U-LOUS! carebear.

Target also has buy $50 get $10 gift card on most sets.
Yes, but that's a gift card and none of the sets are really cheaper than MSRP. At least the Amazon sale has things the normal 20% off and then a $10 instant save. Plus the baseplates would be $4.10 if you buy 11. Just more options if anyone is looking for certain things, and baseplates rarely get that cheap. Finding a baseplate in a store is like finding a unicorn or a useful Walmart employee. :D

Yep, the Amazon sale will be a better deal for most people.

For me personally the Target sale is better because the particular sets I wanted were the same price as at Amazon (20% off MSRP) and I get discount Target gift cards at CardCookie for 10% off.

EDIT: I just checked and it looks like Target has the same price on baseplates. $5 for the regular size and $12 for the big boys.

It's not the size, it's what you can do with it
That's a lie started by below average men.

(You can handle it the best you can, but sorry, size matters. If a girl tells you otherwise she's lying.)

Display it on a shelf, show it off to everyone that comes over, post stop-motion videos of it in action. Wait, what are we talking about?
I show it off to everyone that comes over, and post videos of it in action, but it's never cost me $120. In fact I normally get a meal out of it.

This week at Target it's get $10 gift card when you spend $50, but the sets are more discounted. Some $20 City sets are $11.40, the cheaper Froze sets are 20% off, 'New' Star Wars, 20% off, Stygimoloch JW is 45% off, HP Willow Tree set is $56. Ship in the Bottle is $56 and is retiring. I really wish that set would go for 30%+ off.

I might buy Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown for $80 as I missed it last year when it was $68 on Amazon.

Full list as it's really random: https://www.target.com/b/lego/-/N-56h5nZakkosZj48k8?type=products&lnk=Free10giftcardw

Also there is an exclusive double Brickhead of Red Storm Trooper and Emo Whining Bitch.

Anyone looking to trade minifigs?  Want to complete my Disney series 2

I bought a bunch of the Disney figs but wasn't able to get a full set.  I did get a bunch of doubles though.

Need:

Jafar

Jasmine

Have:

Edna (x2)

Anna (x2)

Elsa (x2)

Hercules

Frozone

Would also be interested for trading for other minifigs, don't really need my doubles.

Kohl's is doing in-store clearance on a bunch of sets. I got:

Watchpoint Gibraltar $36

Ninjago Dragon Pit $52

A few Speed Champions $6 each

Thanos Ultimate Battle $28

Passed on a number of other sets as well (mostly City, Overwatch, TLM2, Harry Potter).

EDIT: Just remembered two other clearance sets they had. Creator Cruising Adventures for $24 and the Star Wars AT Hauler for $40.

Weird time to do clearance. Maybe I'll check it out as that's a great price for the shuttle. Not sure the box would fit in my backpack or milkcrate.

AWD has a few deals slowly wondering in. There was an Arctic Air Transport for like $17. Not the best set but it does have a saber tooth tiger. The Harry Potter spider set is $6.75 and there is the Porg for $30.

Slickdeals has gone nuts thinking every set on sale is a front page deal because they are 'the lowest prices ever!' because CamelCamelCamel told them so. It's funny to watch non LEGO people think they are getting a mega deal when most of the time it's just a day that ends in Y.

However they did point out that some of the Amazon/Target spend $50 get $10 back lists sometimes change daily. So it might be worth keeping an eye on.

LEGO also announced two new Chinese New Year sets (that will be released everywhere). The price isn't as great as this year's boat race set. $80 for 882 pieces and $120 for 1664 pieces. And yes the piece counts are fine, but the sets together don't look like a $200 set.

https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-2020-chinese-new-year-sets-designer-video/

And be careful with Walmart. Yesterday I was going to return some minifigures, said I had until December 5th. Never made it to the store. Today it says November 22. They did this with 2 day shipping once. I missed the cutoff (I was several hours from it), so I didn't order. Came back later and placed the order and the shipping date was sooner.

Finally got a storage unit, put in shelves, and organized everything. It looks like a LEGO warehouse.

Those Chinese New Year sets are a miss for me. I am not a fan of sets that consist of lots of little disconnected components. They do not feel cohesive to me.

I do like the Batmobile though.

The Sanctum Rick Santorum is down to $65 with coupon on Amazon.

Rick Santorum! :D/ I love you. :applause: I bought it, my mom will give me the money and I'll get it as a Christmas gift. haha I added a $5 Minnie because if nothing else I'll donate the thing.

I like that because I want to make a NinjaGo display and it would work well, but it makes the set look way too small for $200.

That santorum set might pose a health risk to anyone that handles it if they don't know what they are getting into.

I love all you peeps! But as long as you bring the set into the shower after play and not Argentina everything should be fine. Hell the worst that happens is you get paid a Santorum of money to Santorum your crazy bullshit lies on CNN.

So the Santorum set is now $70 on Walmart and Amazon but Amazon lowered the coupon to $5 so it's the same price as yesterday.

The prices of LEGO sets is all over the place. I was going to ask for the $40 Flintstone set for Christmas, but it's back up to $48. 20% off isn't a sale.

I did score the TS4 Caboom set for $8.25 from AWD. I wanted a new Woody (That's what she said.), Caboom, he goes for $7 on Bricklink, and the new size slope pieces.

Target is price matching Walmart with a $64 City Police Station with $10 gift card. Not the best set but a good deal for a gift. EDIT- Amazon has a $10 coupon making the set $54.

Target still has the 10$ gift card until the 23rd. But the prices are MSRP or 10% off instead of 20-30% off.

Two weeks ago a bunch of sets were 50% off.
Last week 20-30% off with $10 gift card.
This week MSRP with $10 gift card.
Next week 10% more than MSRP and $10 gift card
Black Friday - Shit sets no one wants (probably TLM2 sets 15% off, but only until noon.)

Now that I made fun of them the X-Wing is $50.99 with a $10 gift card. That's nearly half off. :)

Because it's my plant off season I've been in LEGO cultland forums more. I suggest not doing that.  :dunce:  I thought the manchild who owes Brickset was bad, but wow... some crazy theories going around. No wonder why 11% of the USA thinks lizard alien human hybrids are real.

That X-wing was around $30 at Costco after Christmas, they have an assorted box with around 1500 pieces like the ones that Wal-Mart does for Black Friday & Hagrids Hut. Can't wait to see if I can get those on the cheap!!!
