CAGiversary!

FAQ:

When does the sale being?
The sale begins on MONDAY SEPT 12th when bestbuy opens

Is the sale also online?
no one knows for sure, often bb keeps prices the same, but like i said, this isnt a guarantee. some people are ordering online now and hoping to pricematch later, again, this isnt a guarantee.

Why are people saying they are getting games now, when the sale dosent start until monday?
some people are buying games ahead of time for full price and going back later to get a price adjustment on the games.

BB.com says the games are out of stock in stores around me, is that reliable?
no, its not reliable, it might be right, or it might not, this is from first hand experiance i had today (going to BB then checking avaliability of games i knew where on the shelves when i got home..)

Should i call and ask about the sale?
no, very rarely is calling and asking about a big unadvertised sale a good idea. it can tip off employees that the sale is even going on, also some empolyees might know about it and might have been told to deny it, and some might have no clue at all.

Will the $5 off coupon work on these games? (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58353)
that will be YMMV, the coupon says in black and white, excludes clearance items, so if you get shot down dont cry about it.

More power to the price adjusters. I'd do the same, but I'd rather not have my checks bounce. I just hope you guys left something for those of us going to the B&M tomorrow. >.

The only game I have any interest in is Mr Driller for my son, if anyone picks up an extra copy shoot me a PM to workout a deal.

Paper Mario and Kill.Switch are all I'm after, but good prices nonetheless. Hopefully I can get in on this and grab them early afternoon, after my classes are over.

Anyone played Terminator 3: Redemption? I had heard the co-op play was pretty good from a couple of people, but not sure if I want to spend $10 for it.
That's why he ordered them already, as did I.

If they drop the online price, my order is already processed, all I have to do is call them for a price adjustment.
I guess everyone just wants to take the fun out of the whole thing.
Does SE next to the Mortal Kombat Item (xbox) mean it is the Kollector's edition, or "standard edition" maybe?
Good question, but they are both the same price right now...maybe it will be both verisons?

*sigh* ppl seem to like to ignore me...

has there been any word on whether there is a limit on how many of each title you can get?
i might grab some stuff if people need it BUT im limited to less then 50 buck grabbing since i got my credit card bill 854 bucks is due by Sept 30

300 bucks gas
290 college books
100 new title for car
rest games
Yea I know how that goes. I've spent let's see almost $300 just on games in the past three to four days. That's not counting the $60 I spent at K-Mart during the Labor Day blue light sale or the three Wavebirds I picked up from Target. Have to put $20 of gas in my car tommarow just to be able to get to work for the next week too. So my checking account and credit card are drained, shouldn't have bit on that Meijer sale last night. -_- Hopefully I'll be able to snag Paper Mario with the little cash I have and scrape together some change for THUG on GBA. *crosses fingers they have something worthwhile at least*

Any idea when BB normally updates their site? My plan is to go there right when they open, but I'm not hopeful. Nothing is showing up as in-store anywhere near me.

seriously... i have to get up early tomorrow.

OK, mabye i'm a total newb but will these games be marked as the listed price in the store or will they be marked as somthing higher and just ring up as the clearance price?

BB's thing is pretty decent if you're using it for something that every store carries, but when you start looking for spotty items that aren't carried chain wide it gets iffy.

Anyone notice that the Cube list starts at "F", but all the other systems start at the beginning of the 'bet - are we missing the top of the list by any chance or just a weird coincidence...?
I guess everyone just wants to take the fun out of the whole thing.
Not sure where the fun is... I'm sure as hell not waking up at 4 am to check the website and hope I get an order in, and no store within 50 miles of me has either Ys or Growlanser.

I'd rather take the smart approach then have fun.

Briefly considered that, but I figure enough BB employees have probably looked at the list to have noticed that kind of oversight. But who knows.

All our questions will be answered in a few more hours. I would assume they'll be marked or moved to a sale table. Maybe. Since breaking and entering BB at this hour is illegal, it'll have to wait until morning.

Aside from Bloodrayne 2 for both systems and Texas Hold 'Em (GBA), nothing at the Waterford Lakes BB in Orlando. I would've gotten BR2, but I already picked one up from the $10 CC sale, and I doubt it would have been worth much more traded in than the $6 (after PM) I would have paid.

Don't know if they took stuff off the shelf early to put somewhere on Monday, though.
wow nothing on that list is showing up in anystores within 50 miles and that includes 8 bestbuys, weird
I was going to agree, but I saw a few titles pop up at area stores . . . nothing at my local but one store among 6 would have it on a few of the titles.

Here's a weird question:

The OP said this sale was for stuff that isn't moving and wasn't selling... ok, I buy that. If this stuff was just rotting on the shelves, how come only a scant few Best Buy's even have any of these games?

I went to the one in Saint Petersburg today, and they had barely any of these games, and from everyone I've talked to and seen on here, all the other stores barely have any of these games. Plus the store locator comes up for alot of people as nothing in stock for miles.

Dosen't this strike anyone as a bit odd? I mean, when Circuit City drops prices and has a big sale, every store has a ton of crap on the list. This time, it seems barely anyone is having any luck, espically since this is for "stuff that dosen't sell" which should mean that more people should be having some luck.

Almost everything is on the website, it seems...

My personal opinion is that the BB search engine is broken as far as whether or not stores are carrying older titles. Every title I looked up said "Unavailable". Maybe I'm just way off though.

Well if the "preferred stores availability" thing is correct this is what's available :\

Fifa Soccer 2005 (GC)
harvest Moon: A Wonderfull Life (This didn't say Add-Cart but it didn't say Unavailable it was just blank in the lost to the left, so i don't know if it's really there)
Polar Express

and that's it, from my list of GC/GBA/PS/DS games I wanted (lots of 'em)

Yeah, it does seem odd, but i'm on central time, so I get yo see if all you east coasters get shafted first before I decide to head out :)

Alright, you convinced me: I was wrong . . . but the shipping is brutal . . . any free shipping codes?

I'm looking at $18 shipping (on 9 items).

So, they will adjust prices on my order if prices go lower tommorrow???

If the website drops price tommorrow, you should be able to call the number and have them adjust it.

It seems to be YMMV on adjusting the price in store if, for some very odd reason, the website dosen't automatically adjust it's prices like it's been doing.

And yea, shipping is brutal... I only got two games, and did 2 day air, just in case I have to try the PM in store.

I decided to place my order online, too. Still, $2 shipping per game for ground is pretty fair, though I would always like it to be cheaper. We'll see what happens later on today.

I figured the same thing, being 32 pages in, but who knows. ^_^

On the websites price match policy, it does say within a certain number of days if the prices change on the Online website and / or the store in which you are in. That they will adjust the price.

So if they don't just state that their own website says they will, and they'd have to!

EDIT - Er that is if you're ordering online for in-store pickup, sorry.

That's the big question. From what the website says, they have to, if the prices are dropped on the website.

I'm going the website route mainly because I'm not in the mood to go driving all over town looking for games. I ordered the ones I wanted and won't be bent out of shape if they don't get dropped for some reason. If they do, then the shipping charges balance out the wasting of my time + gas that I would've spent looking for them.

I'd almost be willing to bet that they were all shipped back to stock the website.

I distinctly remember a few months back when Advance Wars 2 dropped to $9.99 that there were over a dozen copies in stock at a BB store very close to closing time yet they all magically disappeared by the time they opened again in the morning never to been seen again.

Prices dropped on the website, but the games I cared about (Mech Assault 2 and Bard's Tale) were $10 instead of $5 (They were $20). Bleh.

Yea, everything is 9.99, there is none of this 4.99 goodness going around.
