Best Buy is putting a ton of slower-moving games on clearance starting Monday Sept. 12th. Prices ranged from .99-9.99, with most being 4.99, and included games for all systems.

FAQ:

When does the sale being?
The sale begins on MONDAY SEPT 12th when bestbuy opens

Is the sale also online?
no one knows for sure, often bb keeps prices the same, but like i said, this isnt a guarantee. some people are ordering online now and hoping to pricematch later, again, this isnt a guarantee.

Why are people saying they are getting games now, when the sale dosent start until monday?
some people are buying games ahead of time for full price and going back later to get a price adjustment on the games.

BB.com says the games are out of stock in stores around me, is that reliable?
no, its not reliable, it might be right, or it might not, this is from first hand experiance i had today (going to BB then checking avaliability of games i knew where on the shelves when i got home..)

Should i call and ask about the sale?
no, very rarely is calling and asking about a big unadvertised sale a good idea. it can tip off employees that the sale is even going on, also some empolyees might know about it and might have been told to deny it, and some might have no clue at all.

Will the $5 off coupon work on these games? (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58353)
that will be YMMV, the coupon says in black and white, excludes clearance items, so if you get shot down dont cry about it.

Do NOT buy a single game that's on this list from EBay. Don't give these hoarder dicks anything. Friggin shmucks cause REAL game fans to not have the oppurtunity to play these games. Well my friend was able to add 3 slient hills with firefox, he says that's the limit, so I'm wondering how some people got 5. He didn't want them and I was just testing, weird stuff.
 
Great only stuff left isn't that great and most of them are at 9.99 rather than the 4.99 they were posted at. Guess I'll try my luck tomorrow. Dang site, I'm gonna send them an email. Probably won't do any good, but I'll sleep better haha.
 
bestbuy employees are known as being pretty evil when games come out they have tons hidden for themselves behind the counter when deals come up the stock dont even make it to the floor alot of illegal activities.

Makes u wonder if theres a way to report this sort of thing and maybe we should start doing it when we go out of our way and come up empty handed and see employees hording.
 
Boo still to the games at 9.99.

I had 4 or so games I really wanted to snag at 4.99 a piece... they just aren't worth it at 9.99 each.

Well quite honestly,I worked for BB for 3 years and not once,in store,or on the website(which is actually in no way connected to the store except by name) were we allowed to let people buy more than 3 of anything. The website is suppossed to reinforce this but I guess they didn't.

For everyone worried about the prices; the prices in store are sometimes different from that of the store's. It's a different entity(if that is the right word) so alot of times people would bring in a printout of different prices online that we had to match in store. Same goes for Circuit,Gamestop and EB. There's still some hope for us gamers!

From what I've seen, when it's gone, it's pretty much gone.

Well, even though I'm spending too much money this month ($20 on SWAT 4, then I planned on buying the Dawn of War expansion for $30 more) I was actually able to put a Mortal Kombat: Deception SE and Silent Hill 4 in my cart and it went through.

I'm pretty sure it's just luck, so keep trying. I tried a few times in Mozilla, then tried a few times in IE, gave up, played some Diablo 2, then came back and everything worked peachy-keen.

It's cool. I only had his word to go on and we've all seen what that's worth. As far as previous accounts, I suspected as much when he made the claim of being here over a year. I've never seen someone so eager to brag about being an @$$hole before. Arguing w/stupid people is fun, at least for a few minutes. It's gets old when you realize they're too stupid to realize they've lost.

Ok it's back up and working now. Anyone got some last minute suggestions for me? I got Silent Hill 4, R6 3, Zelda: Link to the Past.

Also picked up Nascar 05 for a friend. I have all of the systems that this sale is good for, I just want to get a few more good games.
 
Like I said, it pretty much has nothing to do with browser cache/cookies/etc since I had cleared all those from both IE and Firefox multiple times closing and opening the browser inbetween and it didn't make a bit of difference. Then out of the blue one time it started working. Maybe their site can only handle so many open virtual carts at once?
 
I was able to add a few to my cart, but none were available at any local stores. Luckily there is only 2 or 3 games I am interested in (Paper Mario 2, Zoo Keeper, and Monopoly) so I will just try my luck at an actual store tomorrow. Good luck everyone...Hopefully we get some copies before the ebay hoarders do.
