I figured that by the time I got home from work this would have already been posted with the list, but it looks like I should have brought the list home with me. Best Buy is putting a ton of slower-moving games on clearance starting Monday Sept. 12th. Prices ranged from .99-9.99, with most being 4.99, and included games for all systems.

FAQ:

When does the sale being?
The sale begins on MONDAY SEPT 12th when bestbuy opens

Is the sale also online?
no one knows for sure, often bb keeps prices the same, but like i said, this isnt a guarantee. some people are ordering online now and hoping to pricematch later, again, this isnt a guarantee.

Why are people saying they are getting games now, when the sale dosent start until monday?
some people are buying games ahead of time for full price and going back later to get a price adjustment on the games.

BB.com says the games are out of stock in stores around me, is that reliable?
no, its not reliable, it might be right, or it might not, this is from first hand experiance i had today (going to BB then checking avaliability of games i knew where on the shelves when i got home..)

Should i call and ask about the sale?
no, very rarely is calling and asking about a big unadvertised sale a good idea. it can tip off employees that the sale is even going on, also some empolyees might know about it and might have been told to deny it, and some might have no clue at all.

Will the $5 off coupon work on these games? (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58353)
that will be YMMV, the coupon says in black and white, excludes clearance items, so if you get shot down dont cry about it.

I'm going to head out to the northcrest BB soon. I plan to get there a half hour early. I was really hoping to get Growlancer and Ys, but atleast I have a print out of the price. Do you guys know if EB, GS, or TRU would price match? I might also try sears and CC, but I doubt they'll have either.

Is there anything that could get me some good credit? I think someone mentioned Bloodrayne 2 could get $23 at FYE. I could use a little extra credit to put towards SotC or DDS2.

i would love to see someone run in screaming and run toward the video games and slam right into the table they got up front knocking it down with all the stuff on it. then getting up and taking off running again...... funny thing is this really happen 2 years ago the day after thanksgiving... this lady was like 2 people in front of us. The doors opened up she starting screaming and took off running slammed into the big display in the front of the store (Dvds and tapes went flying) she falls picks herself up starts screaming and running to the back of the store. it was the funnest thing i seen every.... Well beside the people ripping the glass doors off walmart to get to furby that one year, but that was plan insane... i remember walking back to my car thinking im getting the hell out of here and didnt even go in

Denver west..thats the one off Colfax right? Well, if it is, I probably won't touch it til tommorow because I won't be able to get to work in time. Anyways, if you do go there and see FIFA 05 GC or Paper Mario, do me a favor and...tuck... away those games in a spot and PM me about the whereabouts of this secrative location please :).

Again, I agree. I have never bought more than 1 copy of any game, as I play all of them. I never traded a game, as I liken that to buying a $75 dollar Accounting Book and then selling it back to the bookstore for $6.00. There is something unholy about that. But some people can and do purchase multiple copies to trade/sell/whatever. It is a fact of life, and there is no sense in getting upset about it, or punching someone in thier 37 year old fat, virgin face.

i dont think you will find it cause they said its not even in their system anymore... mostly going out to appleglen to seeif they still have those drum sets (probally not)

i asked about that at a local best buy the other day and it was sort of funny. the dude tried for 45 mins at least to get shipping off their order. I was like Dude the place is charging you tax cause we got a best buy in our state. The worker just kept hitting buttons saying they know for a fact the online store dont charge tax...

Well I wanted Silent Hill and Tron for the Xbox; Those two were my top priorities.

I couldn't get Silent Hill but I snagged Tron and MecAssault: Lone Wolf.

So I'm happy. I still am looking for a deal on Silent Hill though...

EDIT: I ordered these online. I dont have time to go to the store today.

Just got back from Best Buy. They had about 75% of the list in stock, nothing was labeled as being on sale, nothing rang up on sale, no cashier knew about the sale, no floor person knew about the sale, the manager said no such sale exists, and the register chick was mighty pissed I wasn't going to purchase the stack of games she just rang up. Called 3 other Best Buys and neither of them knew of a sale.
 
Just got back, picked up Mr Driller and Future tactics Tried to pick up what was labeled as MLB 2005 on the list, I guessed it was ESPN MLB 2k5 but I guessed wrong. That was still 15.
 
Has anyone had luck doing a PM for their online order over the phone? CRS I talked to said I needed to go to the store - I have to go back anyways

simple just go to best buy online and print those pictures and prices out... and who cares if the cashier was pissed its their job.. i left a big stack of penny guides one time when they tried to say i had to pay full price even though they was ringing up at a penny. (i had like 10 guides) and she was like now i got to delete them by hand. i was like o too bad so sad.

They were wrong then... why would you have to go to the store for an online order?

Myself and two others I talked to were all told the same thing - they made a note of the 9.99 price drops, and they are forwarding the information to the "research team". They gave me a reference number, and told me I would be emailed or called within 2 - 3 business days.

No, I called as soon as it hit 1 am and they dropped all the prices last night. The CSR on the phone checked both games, confirmed to me that they were in fact 9.99, and that I would receive $30 back on my card on each game, and that everything would be now forwarded to the research team.

Call back and talk to a different CSR... the first one I got told me the database was down, he couldn't do anything, so I called back and got a different one that helped me out.
 
My BB was mainly a bust as far as GBA/PS2 games but I managed to get the last copy of Growlanser Generations for $5.41 total after using the $5 off any PS2/PSP game coupon. It didn't scan at first and when it did scan it showed up as $0.00 so I don't know if the cashier forced it through or not in case anyone was wondering.

at least ordering online I don't have to put up with any morons in the store...seems like more than a few people have having problems with the sale.
