I figured that by the time I got home from work this would have already been posted with the list, but it looks like I should have brought the list home with me. Best Buy is putting a ton of slower-moving games on clearance starting Monday Sept. 12th. Prices ranged from .99-9.99, with most being 4.99, and included games for all systems.

FAQ:

When does the sale being?
The sale begins on MONDAY SEPT 12th when bestbuy opens

Is the sale also online?
no one knows for sure, often bb keeps prices the same, but like i said, this isnt a guarantee. some people are ordering online now and hoping to pricematch later, again, this isnt a guarantee.

Why are people saying they are getting games now, when the sale dosent start until monday?
some people are buying games ahead of time for full price and going back later to get a price adjustment on the games.

BB.com says the games are out of stock in stores around me, is that reliable?
no, its not reliable, it might be right, or it might not, this is from first hand experiance i had today (going to BB then checking avaliability of games i knew where on the shelves when i got home..)

Should i call and ask about the sale?
no, very rarely is calling and asking about a big unadvertised sale a good idea. it can tip off employees that the sale is even going on, also some empolyees might know about it and might have been told to deny it, and some might have no clue at all.

Will the $5 off coupon work on these games? (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58353)
that will be YMMV, the coupon says in black and white, excludes clearance items, so if you get shot down dont cry about it.

Just got an e-mail about the backordered Growlanser Generations stating that it is expected to ship September 17th. Not sure if I believe that, but I'm not gonna cancel the order yet either.

Btw, I called BestBuy.com's customer service line to request a price adjustment since I ordered my items before midnight and they said that it would be reflected once the items have shipped. I'll have to doublecheck in a few days that my items I ordered were adjusted properly.

i like how they are blaming CAG in trying to get the post off the hot deals part... if they wasnt hoarders then maybe we would let them know about stuff like this .. one person said they ordered 10 99 cent game and was complaing about the 20 buck shipping.. Wow, I actually made it out of the website with a handful of good titles! Now, if only they actually ship. It's been my experience that bestbuy.com is usually good about their actual inventory, but they're definitely not perfect.

The only satisfaction I get out of Fatwallet antics is that everyone rushes out to hoarde a deal.. and the flood of supply on Ebay lowers the selling price point and they collectively lose money. Dude, relax! Although I agree that hoarding sucks, if people have the money, why can't they grab a deal if they can? Sure it sucks that I can't get Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls because I was asleep at 1:30 am and am working unitl 6:00 pm, but oh well. The early bird gets the worm! But whoever got my copy, you missed more by skipping class today to pick it up than I did!

For the record, I am 33 years old, married with thre3 kids and did it five times this weekend with my wife!

I'm sure this won't be confirmed until 10 a.m. this morning, but can anybody speak to whether or not the multiple $9.99 online price points mean that many of the games we expected to be $4.99 will actually be $9.99 in-store?

Dude, I didn't skip class. I don't even have class (yet). I'm at work!

If there was one copy of a game and someone else bought it, whatever, early bird indeed got the worm. If there were 10+ copies of the game, and some fat fuck came in and bought all of them just to 'flip' them at EB/Gamerush/eBay for a $3 profit, yeah, that's worth getting pissed about.

AMAZINGLY, there are people out there who actually just want to play these games.

Definitely gettin' ready to head over to BB in an hour... though everything within about a 20 mile radius says all of the games I am looking for are 'unavailable.' Which is odd, given my BB has never had less than 10 copies of FFVIII at any point in time.
 
Damn, I ordered Silent Hill 4 at about 4:00AM CT this morning (Right after they became available to put in the cart) and I just got an e-mail saying it is backordered until 9/17. I hope it comes through as that is the one I wanted the most out of the ones I ordered.

That's the funniest thing I've heard or read all day. That would totallly make my day to see someone do that and would probably make any games you took from me worthwhile if I were there to see it.

I also ordered last night around midnight. I have also not received anything more than my order confirmation email.
