I hope that isn't the real cover. Couldn't they have picked an original to represent ECW? Tommy Dreamer? Sandman (I guess not since he's on Raw)? cripes. I hate Lashley.

I'm still beyond hyped that Sandman and Dreamer are in it. I've made Dreamer every year on the SmackDown games since HCTP.

//edit: WTF? The wiki page says downloadable wrestlers for the PS3 version but not 360.
Meh. You know who's going to get pushed? Umaga, Cryme Tyme, Kane, Finlay, Snitsky, Cena, Jeff Hardy, Triple H, Khali, MVP, Other Hardy, Chuck Palumbo, Undertaker, Mark Henry, Miz, and Big Daddy V.

There are PLENTY of WWE guys not under suspension or injury that are going to fill up the top of the card. WWE is not forced to do anything they wouldn't want to do (have good wrestling matches or push guys who aren't jacked the fuck up). Sure, you'll see Londrick on Mondays more, and Jamie Noble on Fridays more, but if you think they're going to be in a different spot on the show than the inconsequential squash match or the 3-minute comedy bullshit match, you're a fool who obviously doesn't get that the WWE knows you, the smart mark, will never ever stop watching, so they have no reason at all to cater the show to your standards - it is, after all, those who *would* and *do* turn away whose attention they crave.

Oh, by the way, if you think CM Punk will be ECW champion, you're a fucking mark worse than people who think the Undertaker is really dead. Mark my words, if the ECW title changes at all, it's going on Elijah Burke.
I believe Henry was leaving soon?

I know it's wishful thinking on my part, but upon reading what you're thinking, I expect the company to go into stall mode for the next month and then continue on as if nothing happened.

Congress has sent similar requests to TNA and ROH. Both of them desperately need to do something - we often talk about the WWE, as if only wrestlers who work for them do steroids or abuse pain pills. That's bullshit, of course, and WWE, unlike TNA and ROH (shut up, Zen, I know they're profitable), has the financial foundation to stay alive as a company if the shit hits the fan. TNA and ROH could be done for if the fines and sanctions mount.
You're right. They could get buried if they aren't careful. It's got nothing to do with being profitable. I just wasn't aware that ROH had gotten a notice on the steroids issue from Congress.

They haven't last time I've heard.

Only WWE, TNA and NWA (wtf) got the notices.
Actually he is Biker Taker from around 2002. Right down to the Bike Ride Around the Ring.

Not really. The bike was one element of Undertaker's character. The bike IS Palumbo's character. How many vignettes did they show on TV where Undertaker was talking about how he loves his bike and he loves to work on his bike and his bike is so important and you all should get ready to be run over or all should get ready for a long ride or any other fucking stupid bike cliches? They named a finishing move after it, and occasionally a heel would try to get attention by fucking with it. That's about it.

And nor should he, because he has no appeal to anyone outside the Holier-than-thou wrestling fans that think CM Punk is the shit because they watched him in ROH. CM Punk's character (mind you I'm not saying as a wrestler) is completely worthless until he turns heel. As a heel that character has the potential to drive fans insane, and his only limitations then will be how much politics bury him.

That would be great  This whole thing is Vince's fault for pushing for bigger and bigger wrestlers, yet it could ultimately put out his competition.

 I remember when a face fucked with Taker's bike, wearing a Nazi helmet! The best part is was Hogan  Watching attempt to drag Hogan on the bike and Hogan attempting to run over Taker's bike in a semi-truck were two of the most unintentionally hilarious moments in WWE history.
When you rant like that, it shows your age. Rey is 33 years old and has had numerous knee surgeries, including through his tenture at WCW. The fact is that the WWE is going to have to push smaller guys because at this rate Congress WILL get involved. Rey is booked foolishly, I agree, but WWE does that to a lot of their talent.

James Gibson, Spanky, Paul London, CM Punk are all people that could get over if pushed right. However the WWE is more interested in looks rather than ability and so until something like this steroids thing changes the way they do business, keep expecting to see people like Batista pushed to the moon.
How much of my post did you actually read? Elaborate.

Oh....ok.
I'm having a hard time figuring out who's heel and who's face in this angle.
Same thing could be said for TNA at the moment. Seems like they're trying make Angle a good guy being partners with Sting while trying to defend against Team Pacman. But at the same time, he's being a cocky heel with his world title & X divison title matches.

BTW, rumors are going around that one of the WWE wrestlers on that leaked list is not going to be suspended. It was someone who already came forward and mentioned it and suspended for it. Question is, who exactly? Mr. Kennedy?

Even newer news
WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt has confirmed to New York's Newsday that WWE has suspended an 11th wrestler due to the ongoing Signature Pharmacy scandal. He added that no further suspensions are expected.

He also told the paper that 10 of the 11 will be suspended for 30 days, while the other wrestler will be suspended for 60 days due to being a second time offender.
I bet Orton won't be suspended. Wasn't he already suspended for smoking pot backstage or some Wellness related thing? Or would that make him the wrestler being suspended for 60 days?

I would have to say Orton since he is the middle of a huge fued with Cena. Kennedy just played the role of jobber to Umaga.

My money on the 60-day is Masters.

What are they going to do with the bastard child angle, now that Kennedy is allegedly suspended?

Wait a month and then continue on with it.

You really think Vince would suspend somebody that is in a story with him & Triple H? Those two guy's egos won't allow it. If it got dragged out for another month, it'll be nothing but dick and tranny jokes all month long from Triple H.

On the other hand, Orton is supposedly having to earn another title show. Which basically means at the moment that anyone can be named #1 contender since he hasn't officially been named.

We'll know monday which storyline will get canned for a month when one of them doesn't show up.

It could go either way, but look at Umaga. With Hardy gone, he turned face for a month and when Hardy came back, he became a heel again. I suspect the same thing to happen with current storylines.

Haha, that'd be awesome. They could even make them team. Have them win and when Jeff goes in for the high five after the victory, *WHAM*, Samoan Spike. Then have Umaga help him to the back. I mean, it won't blow me away but they've got to do something assuming RAW opens up with like half it's roster gone.

The way I wish it would happen, is have Vince come out and say "Orton after that despicable act last Monday, you haven't earned a title shot, YOU EARNED A 60 DAY SUSPENSION"

Then at Unforgiven have Cena lose a non-title match thanks to Orton coming on the Titantron. Start airing promos of Orton stalking/beating up Rapadoo's family which would lead up to No Mercy where Orton wins the title in an unsanctioned street fight.

It may not make alot of sense to put the belt on him after fucking up again but he's a perfect person for HHH to take down and when has WWE ever actually punished somebody?

"Jeff Hardy is Umaga's bitch on Monday Night RAW!"

Sounds about right.

Big Saturday WO site news update - http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/news/headlines/default.asp?aID=20596

Kennedy and Umaga have been pulled off of Raw shows, Randy Orton has not been suspended. All the suspended wrestlers were flown into CT for a meeting with Vince, and the tally is now at 11 suspended wrestlers, with one receiving a 60 day suspension.

The suspensions are due to the online pharmacy thing, clearing that issue up, and just because someone wasn't caught here doesn't mean they aren't on something - they could be clean, have assistants to help them pass tests, or be taking designer steroids.

There's a story about the suspensions here - www.abcnews.go.com/print?id=3546146

Also, the father of the passenger in Nick Hogan's car was arrested due to him getting into a brawl with other family members at the hospital. The story on that is here - www.tampabays10.com/news/local/article.aspx?storyid=62400
......................................

Well, it doesn't look like Umaga will be beating Hardy on Raw. I can see Punk winning the ECW belt - having him win it makes more sense than Burke, who has been lost in the shuffle for months.
ECW taping spoiler

Punk beat Morrison for the title. I guess Morrison was one of the suspensions.

YAY! Where is Burke now?! :)

Just bumping that for no particular reason.
Am I a mark?
Now if they put the Raw title on London and the SD title on Jamie Noble, maybe people will start giving ROH the respect you feel they deserve.
Am I a mark?
Everyone posting in this thread is a mark. Everyone who spends time and/or money on wrestling is a mark. That word has LONG been taken away from its true meaning by internet fans.
Am I a mark?
I assume you consider yourself a smark. Just take a quick look at that word and you'll find your answer.

I'd be a lot happier about that spoiler if it hadn't happened because one guy was on the juice.

Seeing as the Smackdown main event for Unforgiven is now Khali vs Batista vs Rey in a 3 way, looks like Rey and Batista still have jobs. No signs of Masters though.

1) Wow. This episode of ECW won't be on until Tuesday, and yet the first person to come in here and snidely post that I was wrong? The same person who "gave up watching" the WWE.

2) Unlike the vast majority of people on the internet, I'm more than happy to acknowledge when I'm wrong. And, this time, I'm wrong. That's not as disappointing as the decision to stay home instead of going to the show tonight. Pretty bloody unlikely I'll find Punk at a bar down the street tonight to help him celebrate. ;)

I wasn't trying to rub it in or anything. I just have a feeling that the call on Punk not winning the belt was because of the disillusion involved with the current WWE product than anything else. Of course I could be wrong.

And hey, take a walk down the street. You never know who you might run into.

80132971xz8.jpg

Hey Punk, this milk's on you.

You weren't trying to rub it in, but I think that KaneRobot felt more than obliged to be the first to provide the results of television he claims to have given up on.

A bit of coincidence that the guy with the bad haircut to the left of Punk in that picture is wearing a t-shirt with the Crimson Ghost on it. Not that uncommon, certainly, but good timing nonetheless.
I'd be a lot happier about that spoiler if it hadn't happened because one guy was on the juice.
i'll second that. now i just wonder where they go with ecw. the only two people they seemed to give a shit about were punk and morrison, and their fued is effectively on hold until morrison is off suspension. lord, if they capitalized on some of the absolutely fantastic matches punk had with stevie richards a while back and developed that into something, we'd have a show worth watching. being that it's wwe, though, i assume the next fued for the ecw champ will be with someone predictable like burke. or big daddy v. of course, if v won it they'd have to split it into a tag titles for he and his three tits.
burke would have been awesome

seems the ecw title seems to changing hands lately because of "incidents"
and smackdown because of injuries.
and smackdown because of injuries.
And it just doesn't change hands on Raw. Ever.

I loled at the ECW strap going to the one got not on the juice. Guess they're trying to send a message in the wake of a Steroid scandal.

Morrison, and probably Masters, that's 2, any guess as to the other 9? I'm thinking Umaga, Khali and then I'm drawing blanks.
On a sadder note, Eugene has been released.
...where he'll reappear as Nick Dinsmore and suplex the shit out of dudes in ROH or TNA.

It's about time they let Eugene go.

Jeff Hardy vs Umaga for the IC title at the Raw taping tonight. With Umaga's name on the list, expect him to lose the title, potentially in another angle heavy match like in Milan.
thanks for the spoilers...
Seriously... they just came right out with it didn't they? But to be fair, not like many people were gonna watch ECW anyway.

Since Eugene is gone now and Bob Holly's career appears to be over, I pray that they find someone else to use that monkey manager gimmick on. That shit is gold.

Something I find pretty hilarious from the SD taping:

Cruiserweight title match: Hornswoggle wins against Jamie Noble as a result of a countout. Noble was trying to catch Hornswoggle in a trap with Lucky Charms, and ended up caught in the trap himself. That's why he was counted out.

...where he'll reappear as Nick Dinsmore and suplex the shit out of dudes in ROH or TNA.
Nick Dinsmore, right before he came up to WWE, had a look and style that Roderick Strong always reminds me of (to this day). I'd really like to see those two feud.
