Diablo III / Diablo II Battle.net Thread

I got a question. When I hit 60 what stats would I want on a 1-handed weapon/shield for a monk.

Gonna look on the AH later for cheap deals and I am curious to what stats would be good and what atk speed I need (roughly).

My gear is going to be the standard, dex, vit and resistance for now when I hit 60 for armor. Just didn't know what I would want on a 1-hander and shield.

LoH, block, a socket, high damage...that's pretty standard though. whatever keeps you alive along enough for your dps friend to kill whatever you're tanking. my monk friend doesn't do alot of dmg but his health globe never seems to drop (act 1)

how much is this worth? my friend found this and couldn't sell it on the AH for his 2 million BO (i told him that's a bit ambitious) I expressed interest in it so he said make him an offer.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/flint-ripper-arrowheads

I could have bought it for 30k I think from the AH, i want it more for the cool factor and if anything outside of losing about +90 dex, it's currently better than my rare lvl 58 quiver. the 2 random stats iirc are some Vit and some MF%.

LoH +135
crit 4%
IAS 13% or 14%
I know the bleed effect is 22% also.
You sound lucky to me. I'm making 100k/hr (no luck gear, just 5NV).
The 700k/hr is from raw gold drops 0 NV

At 42k dmg on my wizard now after playing the AH this weekend. I love when people don't know what their items are worth. Example: bracers with 82 int, 83 vit, 58 resist all, 13% Mf and 4.5% crit. 300k. Poor bastard who sold it...

There are just some people who dont really care about the actual value of items. Some just put a random buyout amount and hope it sells fast so it'll free up some storage space. There are thousands upon thousands of items in the AH and knowing how to search for these type of deals is the key.

Blizzard really needs to add a few extra search parameter boxes. 3 just isn't enough sometimes. Would also be nice to just be able to search for a minimum DPS you're willing to accept.

Eh, honestly it's not worth a whole lot more, maybe 500k more. The MF is a nice find but 4.5 crit is usually low-priced. I want some 5.5 bracers but those tend to start at 10 mil for what I want so it's not a worth it. The market right now is being flooded with low-end stuff so I usually price stuff to move quickly too. People keep bitching that the AH is being flooded but the real problem is Blizzard's shitty itemization spread. There's too large a gap between what is considered great and what is side-grades. Hence why weapons are either worth 80-250 mil or nothing at all. I like the fact they made farming runs more 'rewarding' but there's too many dump stats that make 99% of all rares worthless. They really need to tighten the spread on stats or else it will soon become near impossible to make any money at all. Things I could have sold for 30-100k last week I'm having to just vendor because they don't move.

And I want to shoot the idiot designer who thought radius pickup should be a stat. It should be fucking baseline and not even exist on gear.
If they could do one thing, i would say add a variable for searching off-hands for dmg added , ie a source
I stopped trying to sell anything over 300 dmg with INT because it just wasn't visible. I know it's worth something, but they never ever sold so I vendor them. If I got something close to 400 I might try again, though.

I dunno, everytime I seqrched I couldn't find all those stats on one item for under a million. It's the vit that really made the value to me.

Also picked up a 9% IAS ring with %life and something like 100 int and mf for 400k. I love finding deals. Now I just need an ammy deal and I should be doing pretty good.
Athene made another video upload.

Speedkill (Eyes Closed)

Ofcouse most of us dont have the luxury of getting the best gear all the time like this guy does (people giving him gear/money)
Athene is a tool. He is terrible at most games, yet people hang on his nuts like he is such a pro. The guy also openly begs on his stream for free shit.

Also, I agree with adding more search parameters. Three really is not enough when you have items that have have like eight different stats on them.

Yeah, that's my problem with him. I watched one of his videos and was impressed. Not by how fast his kills bosses, but by the number of retards who "contribute" to help with what he was doing. During that one video, the contribution counter was around $960,000.

That and there's no skill involved in what he does.

Something else I'd like to see added (or taken into account): When I search for Str and put in a Min value of 100, I don't want part of that Min fulfilled by Gems. I want 100 Str without Gems.

What I think they need is a minimum value such as armor or DPS and at least 3 more slots for searching for other stats. Plus the AH should not show gear pieces that exceed the minimum search requirements by being socketed with a gem.

Sometimes I wanna search for an armor piece with dex, vit, +all resist, +certain resist, and a socket.

Finally people are buying my stuff! Sold a ring for $25, and a pretty crappy Stormshield for $38.

I did a run earlier and killed a goblin... I ended up running off without seeing a legendary shield on the ground that it had dropped, had to backtrack over his body and saw it. I was just about kicking myself, until I saw it was a Lidless Wall. Ugh. Doesn't even salvage into brimstone. :|

Yeah I hate searching for something socketed and with say 100 dex, only to find it's really 70 dex with a +30 or so gem in it. Want 100 dex with an empty sock dammit.

w00t w00t - i haven't sold anything yet from last night, prob need to drop a few bucks.

Finally beat hell on my monk. Act IV was starting to hit me hard on my gear but I dinged 60 literally like 10 minutes into Act IV. Put on my 60 gear and was invincible.

As it stands right now I am at
6264 Armor
9660.33 dps (horrible but well for starting Inferno I will take it)
652 resist

So tomorrow I start the fun of farming :D
Found a glove 8.5% crit chance, 32% crit dmg, 156 dex, 79 vit 290 armor. how much you think I can sell it on RMAH? or AH
Pretty legit gloves. Should fetch quite a lot. Search for similar ones and price accordingly.

Also, think I might have struck gold this morning. Found a cloak with 150 dex, 140 vit, 30 res all, 20% gold find, AND 3 slots! Woot.

Someone want to let Blizzard know that bringing down the game this close to a holiday, where many people are off from work, isn't a good fucking idea? Cause you know, people might want to play on their day off.

yup.

finally digging in to my Steam copy of Torchlight, though. Your loss, Blizzard.

Oh yeah I was getting ready to start Inferno too. Well at least, I learned that I have to spend my day bitching at sony because the copy of Assassin's Creed 2 I bought last year on PSN is not showing up in my downloads list and it says the game is expired when I went to start it because D3 is down.

I'm almost 100% certain that they will always bring the servers down for maintenance every Tuesday, regardless of whether or not there's a holiday. So, it's kind of pointless to complain.

Yeah, they do maintenance this time every single week. Not sure why it'd be any different just because this week is the Fourth of July.

Anyone got any suggestions for farming Act I Inferno? Basically is there like a certain route I should take to maximize my loot finding per time spent or just do clears of the Act I?
Well, looks like Blizz is planning on nerfing MF this time. You're almost there Blizz.
Yeah, it's pretty funny how Blizzard has turned on people saying our way or the highway. Most people have opted for the latter.

Think I'm done with this game; just not having fun grinding gear anymore for zero reward. It was fun learning the game but now that I have nothing to work towards except more awful drops (and NEVER finding a piece of loot I'd actually use; GG shitty itemization) it has lost its appeal. Really sucks I never hit the jackpot on an item (and after 300 hours played, I was long overdue) to ease the pain of slowly gearing up to where I am now, but that's RNG for you. With this game you either win the lottery or it grinds you down until you don't have fun anymore.

Ehhh MF isn't all that great anyways. I prefer prioritizing GF on gear.

~320 GF
~220 MF
Making ~700k/hr (from gold drops alone, most of the time the gear drops are shit)

For clarification, MF simply increases the likeliness of finding gear of a higher class (more rares, less blues), it DOES NOT increase the amount of drops, the ilevel of the gear, or the stats on the items.
Anyone got any suggestions for farming Act I Inferno? Basically is there like a certain route I should take to maximize my loot finding per time spent or just do clears of the Act I?
I usually start with the Forgotten Woods??? (waypoint where you need to recover the two orbs from the two tombs). There, I can usually reach Nephalem's Valor within 15 minutes.

From there I usually hit the cemetery with the 3 - 4 tombs and proceed to the halls to take out the jailer + butcher.

My typical route:

Watch tower
Cathedral lvl 3
Festering woods
Cemetery
Leorics Manor
Warden/Butcher

This, but I usually throw in Fields of Misery and Highlands Crossing and get the dungeons that spawn there.

MF gear is useless. Build your char on dps and forget MF. Since they built in NV it takes away the strength of MF. GF otoh is still very valuable.
If you want to do quick GF runs stack GF with radius pickup and movement speed.
The fact that they're interested in getting feedback from players gives the opposite impression.
True but all of their options point to nerfing the whole MF system. The last time they asked for feedback, it was about nerfing attack speed and increasing repair costs and look where it got us.
Mf gear is all i wear now, so id be pissed if they mess with that (negatively, at least)
from what i read, its from switching gear before a kill.
if youre wearing mf gear the entire time, then you're unaffected

I don't expect anyone to be excited about nerfs, but these nerfs have also been accompanied by an increased in drop %, level 63 gear dropping earlier in the game, and a decrease in Inferno's difficulty.

nerfs accompanied by more nerfs. i'm seeing a trend.
Increases in the drop rates and decreases in difficulty are nerfs?
A decrease in difficulty is definitely a nerf.

Source please? I don't mind MF getting nerfed if you switch gears. Decent Dh's can just keep full MF gear and still farm inferno. Unless they nerf SS again

Blizzard made a post on facebook about this. not sure if it is what you guys are looking for...http://www.facebook.com/Diablo
The fact that they're interested in getting feedback from players gives the opposite impression.
Lol, a wolf in sheep's clothing. Listen, they straight up tell you they're nerfing MF in that post. They ASK which option would be the most bearable and result in the least rage. It's a menu for your final meal before execution; would you give a fuck what you ate? It might as well be shit.

I'm being overly dramatic but it's still the truth. Regardless, it's such a minor issue when people are quitting for bigger reasons. I don't know who this guy is below, but he mirror's my thoughts on the state of the game and why I just quit as well. The long and skinny is a game like this isn't rewarding when all your loot comes from the AH. The fact I sunk 300 hours into this game with only gold to show for it and nothing I can proudly display as "look what 'I' found" really sums it up.
