Diablo III / Diablo II Battle.net Thread

Sigh, I miss being able to just buy gems. I'm maxed out as far as jewel crafting goes right now, can't go higher until I get to hell difficulty. If I could just get someone on hell to give me some of those jewel crafting tomes.
Suddenly everything becomes so expensive once you hit lv60.
The market for act 1 items is crashing so starter gear will be relatively cheap soon. Just a week ago there was maybe four pages of AR gear up and all being snapped up in seconds for 300-500k. Now stuff is going very cheap and filters come up with 20+ pages.

I want gems to be back on the AH because it's goddamn expensive to transmute high level gems.

So just blew all my money - think i got a decent deal and i bumped up my dmg to 50K without sacrificing anything really. Got 60K to my name now, woohoo.

Weapon was 1.9mil (replaced my 900dmg no stats weap) and source was 1.5mil(replaced a lower end source)

vXFGW.jpg

*edit* sold that legendary bracer for 750K so went shopping some more and bumped up DMG to 54.4K and life up to 39K. Nabbed a few undervalued things and put right back up for sale so hopefully will get some more cash flow soon.

Just found the first rare I'm pretty confident would sell for a ton in the auction house: A ring with +95 dex, +30 vit, +41 resist all and +15% Attack Speed. Definitely holding onto it though, way too perfect for a DH to let go.
whats your build stats? I can't seem to survive Act II and just about to give up on the game.
I cleared act 2 with 26k health, 13k damage, 508 resist, and 5.4k armor unbuffed using this build:

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#aYXjgh!ZUX!acbcaa

With persistent buffs from earth ally, blazing wrath, and hard target, I was at 29k health, 15k damage, 508 resist, and 6.4k armor. Other notable stats were 305 life on hit and 45% increased attack speed, and I used a 1h and shield. I don't remember what my exact dexterity was, but it was between 800 and 950.

my one friend that is playing d3 got "hacked" yesterday. shits stolen and new friend added to list.

he already got all his stuff back from a rollback though.

seems like spending 6$ extra for the dongle thing is a requirement since the phone call thing doesn't work for diablo 3.

Just use the mobile app. I downloaded and applied it to my account after one of my friends was hacked. I didnt have to pay for a thing.

do you have any LoHs? my armor is 5k 550 resists 25k health.
my problem is my damage, its at 8k. my dex is like at 1.4k so i need to figure out how to boost that.

act 1 was a breeze,
act 2 is just horrible for me

wondering what i can get for this -
iobMw.jpg
Currently wearing it on my wiz, but LoH doesn't seem to help much. Plugging in 145 vit, 400 loh, and crit hit dmg shows no results on the AH so seems up there. Lowering vit shows some 5 mil+ items...

Are you finding these items in act1 inferno?

What's the best place to farm to get gold/stuff? Hell Whimsy or Inferno Act 1? Is it worth it to plop down half a mil on upgrading the Herding Staff?

I really need to get some better AR gear for my DH and some maybe a 1000 DPS weapon.

Hit the wall on Act 2 Inferno on my Monk. Found a post on the Diablo forums with an interesting build/guide. Changed my build around and started stacking some Life per Spirit spent and Life regen instead of LoH. Just beat Mahgda no problem. I couldn't even get out of the canyon at the beginning of act 2 before. The Life per spirit spent + transendence puts at about 85LPSS and I'm running MoH with sustenence until my resists are higher to switch to time of need. Current Life regen is about 1200/sec. I also have ~150 LoH.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#WbgXYQ!XYU!ZZacca

Alternate Crippling Blow with Deadly Reach to keep 20% dmg reduce and +50% armor up. Rotate blind/fear/invuln when needed. Deadly reach is great utility simply for it's range and Crippling blow has the triple debuff. I'm way more resilient now. It's not a cakewalk by any means but I'm able to hold my own and progress finally.

MoH is your main spirit dump for heals when your other 3 are on cd.

Sword & Board btw. My APS is about 2.25, DPS is 17.5k. 5700armor, 475 resist all.

Enchantress follower with +Armor, +Attack speed, 15% dmg buff, and Charm

i told him about this and he said it wasn't on the verizon app thing.

If you go to your account, add it there. It takes you through the process step by step. I got mine for the iOS, but I believe there was also an Android version.

I have 305 LoH. Not that much, but just enough to top me off through all of the smaller hits. With 1.4k dex, you could probably just get a cheap 1.40 as 600 dps weapon and that'll make act 2 easy enough.

Found some plans doing Inferno Act One runs. I got the "Exalted Sovereign Helm". Unfortunately it requires your artisan to be level 10. I stopped at level six once I realized crafting seemed pretty pointless considering how much gold it costs to craft items you hope will be any good.

Either that or earlier. I've had for a bit before trying act II.

I have two exalted plans(chest and pants i believe) and my blacksmith is only level 4. I was debating training him but I don't even have the pages anymore to do it.

A friend and I have been farming a resplendent chest in act 3 for the past few days and we've made at least 8 mill from drops. Don't even need to be geared other than mf, just be quick with clicking and getting out lol.

Yes it is, but at this point that's what I've resorted to until they're back up on the AH. Just wish I could do at least the square level, but can't without tomes.

That's a sick tank item, only missing IAS and % life otherwise it would be worth 10 mil easy. I'd still say it's worth a few mil though, so perhaps start the bidding at 2 and see if it takes off. I would say 4 mil is about right.
A friend and I have been farming a resplendent chest in act 3 for the past few days and we've made at least 8 mill from drops. I probably need to start getting on this as I can farm act 2 comfortably now. Is it one of those random dungeons or just near a waypoint?

Well, looks like I got hacked. Just logged in and every single one of my items is gone from my Stash and my Lvl60 Demon Hunter. I've never entered a public game, and I have a text authenticator on my account (which is apparently useless). Thanks a million, Blizzard.

Ouch. Should be able to get it rolled back, hopefully. I'm curious if Blizzard is able to track where items wind up - and if they can't they should work on it, to make it not worth bothering to steal items since they would be erased shortly after, etc.

I aadded the phone app to my account last night and set it to require the rolling code every login attempt

I'll probably do that as well. I thought I was safe with the authenticator, but apparently not. Obviously I changed my password as well.

Does anyone know if it'd be safe to level an alt character before the rollback? Or would that progress get wiped out when they roll it back? Otherwise I guess I'll just take a couple days of vacation from d3.

The text authenticator is not an actual "authenticator"... blues have posted that a bunch of times since launch. Curious why they offer the service at all, but yeah just get a physical authenticator. It doesn't cost much anyways.

You can level alts, etc... It won't mess up their recovery.

What the hell is the "text authenticator"? I only know of the physical authenticator, dial-in and mobile. The dial-in however doesn't work with Diablo 3.

And they rollback to specific backups. I don't know if they're per character or account based. I am going to assume account based, which means don't touch anything or else you'll lose any progress. They should be fairly quick on rolling you back though.

Also, just a word of warning. Don't use the same password on accounts you care about being compromised on. Most compromises these days seem to be related to getting your password from another places compromised SQL database that was encoded in MD5 and then decoded via rainbow tables.

EDIT: Oh, the text confirmation for account changes. Yeah, that's not an actual authenticator. Just stops people from being able to change account information (such as passwords) without confirming it via text.

Yeah, if it's not an actual authenticator than they shouldn't offer it/call it that.

I went with the mobile authenticator, though if people think that's not secure either I can always get the physical one.

They should be identical in functionality.

Physical and Mobile authenticator use the same system. The only reason people prefer the physical is because then they won't have to call Blizzard if they change their phone down the line as you'd have to re-link it to the account with a new phone. Typically a physical authenticator should last longer than a smart phone before needing replacement.

Oh well, live and learn. This is my first Blizzard game since D2, so I just assumed the dial-in authenticator was the same (since they call it that). It's not like I'm careless with passwords, etc online, and I use authenticators on pretty much anything which will let me.

I'm sure I'll lose a few things that I farmed in the last couple days, but it's not the end of the world.

I wouldn't think it would fetch an exorbitant amount without a good third stat in addition to VIT and AR. If it had a +DEX or +INT I think it'd be worth a lot more. You can search on similar items though and see what comes up.

Easiest way to find out is to search on the item's stats and sort by lowest buyout. It gets harder if there are a bunch of stats, since limited to the 3 to search on.

My guess on the above is 20K ;)

I'd be surprised if it got that, just because the market would be pretty full of blues which have the same or better VIT and AR stats. Unless people are paying a premium for yellows, which I haven't really seen too much evidence of. Doesn't hurt to try though!

Yeah, I wasn't hoping or expecting millions, just something around 25k or so. Its a decent tank belt, and the level requirement being lowered makes me hope/think someone at 57/58 might bite on it.

I didn't get booted, but didn't get far =] I think some mortar jailers spawned right at the entrance to the fields, so that didin't work out. Nothing saved. Maybe later you can drop me off at the beginning of the act to see if finishing the first areas will let me start off there in future. Plus after spending the 4 mil last night, probably in a better position to not die as much...

Anyone which items typically have the highest increased chance of gold find? I've never seen higher than 10-15% on anything.
Ah, I find myself not even bothering selling things unless they seem to get at least 75-100K anymore with the 10 slot limit.
I was like that a few days ago. I've since cleared out the second page of my stash though (the page I use for items to sell) and I've only got four auctions currently active, so I've just been throwing the smaller stuff I find up there as a way to bring in some quick gold.

Also, that belt sold for 45k after being on the AH for all of 10 minutes.
Anyone which items typically have the highest increased chance of gold find? I've never seen higher than 10-15% on anything.
Emeralds in helms. Radiant Star Emerald in a helm gives 31% gold find.

Gaaah, made it to Phase 2 of Diablo and was almost done with it and I fucked up on a teleport and died. Will try some more later, but man was that disheartening.

Also hate the glitches when you're insta-grabbed by the cage or his AoE fire stomp goes in a cone instead of a circle. Also when a fireball hits you even though you clearly dodged (or in many cases, teleported) only to have that fireball kill you a screen away from Wormhole Teleports out the ass.

can anyone help me with finding out what stats i should be looking for with each type of armor. It seems like certain specific pieces of armor specializes in certain stats like vit and dex and have higher numbers than other pieces. I usually look for little bit of stats here and there, but they don't seem to add up to much.

I can craft the following:

Exalted Grand: Phantom Bow/Pallium/Massacre Axe

Exalted Fine: Slag Hammer/Phantom Bow/Zhezl/Piercer/Sovereign Vambraces

and a bunch of regular Exalted shit. Free crafts if you bring your own mats.

Results worth the mats?

Based off of memory:

Exalted armor is around 15/3 (About 60k'ish)
Exalted Fine weapons are around 40/8 (About 140k'ish)
Exalted Grand weapons are around 55/11 (About 170k'ish)

It will vary weather it's a piece of equipment or weapon though. Don't know off hand if two-handers cost/require more than one-handers as I've never found a two-hander Exalted anything at all I believe.

And if it's worth it? If you're lucky, sure. Otherwise, good luck.
