Yup I got the call from Ashley (used to be Aeris) in a little girl Anime voice that said the game will be in tomorrow afternoon.
Looks like the earliest Amazon is shipping is tomorrow... glad I canceled. I'll be picking it up tomorrow, hopefully at Target as I got a gc for there.
And did GS take Ashley from SSBB? I thought they might have just changed to a generic "A" female name after Square gave them trouble about using Aeris (just speculation on my part).
Shouldn't you guys know better than to expect a game to be readily available on its ship date?
We should know better, but when games are released on oblong days like Sun. and Mon., it's generally understood that is the day they will be in stores.
Is it wrong that I didn't know where it came from?
And people complain that gaming isn't taken seriously and is for little kids and nerds.
Ashley actually originated from WarioWare. However all the youtube videos of the original voice are pretty terrible quality. So I linked the SSBB remix.
WTF is this shit?

I actually don't know. I haven't ordered from Gamestop in quite a while. Just the word Ashley made me think of that. I do know she sounds older in SSBB compared to the WarioWare games though.
OMG, now the guide on Amazon is messed up.
was gonna get the guide there for $12.50 but got an email from Amazon saying they dont know where the guy is.
may buy from Gamestop when I go and just sell the one from Amazon if i get it.
Well I just called Target. They got it. A couple of Gamestops nearby got it according to the website. Best Buy has it according to their website. Time to go forth and BUY! ...Once my cat gets off my lap.
I am the world's biggest dumbass for going out and buying this when I have this nasty cold. Oh well, only for DQ.
Ah it is a comfort game, you'll feel better with it.
On another side note. When I did call my GS they told me they're only getting in 2 copies of it. (including my pre-order). Guess it maybe a short production item.

Doubt it, Target had several copies. GS is just being GS- they get less of these games (ie non-niche but not hugely popular) than big box stores.
This game is actually a little harder than I expected. In the first area, I barely made it back to the town after the first 5 or so battles. Its a step back from DQ IX (to be expected), but its still great, love DQ!
I got that $10 for $20 Groupon about a week ago to Barnes and Noble, used it on their website to order this for cheap. I had $10 promotional credit so it was basically $20 free, after shipping and tax I paid a total of $19.87. Won't have it for a few days but I'm OK with that, Mass Effect 2 and DQ9 are still keeping me busy.
Start playing it now even though i will probally have to put it down in 2 days when my Tactics orge PSP game comes and just keep Final fantasy 4 lights .....
Will probally keep playing Final fantasy 4 lights tonight
will probally pop in Tactics orge Thursday
will probally toss around DQ 6 Tomorrow and play that and orge back and forth until i lose my mind LOL
and DONT FORGET
Radiant Historia HITS NEXT TUESDAY
and then
Pokemon black/white on the 6th
and
Phantom Brave: Heroes of the Hermuda Triangle MARCH 8
Going to be a VERY BUZZY Next few months just on those 5 games alone....and i still even have
Got mine with the plush and played about 2 hours so far.
Seems slow to me, but I bet things will pick up later.
I wish the spine matched 4&5. Instead it matches 9s.
Anybody have any idea why this game is rated "T"? Every other Zenithia game was "E10"
Played some more tonight. Got to the part where
you think you're fighting the last boss, but there's a twist. Jumping between worlds is confusing.

WHAT A TWIST!
I think I am a bit after you. Game is moving a bit slow like you said but damn I'm still loving it. Classic DQ so far. We'll see how much I like the job system though.... Wasn't a big fan of it in 7, which this is supposed to be the most like.
I was out yesterday and they had plenty of copies at both Toys R Us and Best Buy (by plenty, I mean probably about 10-12) I didn't check at Gamestop, because I was too busy discussing MvC3 with my friends that work there

I'm close to switching jobs. I really like 7s job system (more than 9s), so I'm really looking forward to that. Getting your party filled with more members helps make this game a lot more fun.
I've actually been making the computer control my other characters. In older games, I was a big control freak and manually controlled them, but it's a lot of fun to have the computer do it. Too bad they still go crazy with spells for your mages. I'm surprised
i hope to play this game this upcoming weekend ... final fantasy 4 lights has pulled me back into it major time... almost at the end... so hopefully i can rip this open friday or saturday night
Do you need to play Part 4 and 5 first or can you just jump right into 6
Now only if they would do a
DRAGON QUEST 1-3 on a single Ds cart... maybe for the 3ds
too bad they wouldnt rework 7 and 8 on hand helds as well
you have just gotten the ability to be seen in the other world, and the cleric joins you, I was amused that they made some not so subtle hints that you would be able to change classes soon, and then they say "sorry this job change is in another castle"

Yeah, the B&M stores seem to have plenty of this, whereas the online preorders got screwed. Weird.
Got an email saying my bonus item was delayed but shipping today (I pre-ordered Sunday night).
So it's safe to say there were plenty of pre-order plush toys, you just had to use the site instead of the stores.
There were some in the stores too, they just screwed up the distro.
I've amazed these go for $25 on feebay.
Ok, so what are everyone's general thoughts then so far? Must have? Maybe an 8/10?
Also, I've read that maybe I don't want to play this one unless I've played IV then V. Is this so?
It's too early to say, so I'll withhold comment. You don't really need to play them in order; there's just one plot element that ties them together, and it's isn't necessary to know to understand the games.
Spent about an hour at the casino, blew all the money I had on tokens (8000) and gambled on the 10 coin ones until I built up 2900 coins. Had to re-load games of the 100 coin slots a few times, and lo and behold, After the 3rd time on my first load, I got the 3rd best combination and won 20000 coins and was able to get platnium armor and dragon shield for
