1. I can't get into the member's area/can't find out where to pay. Help!

After the initial registration email, you should receive a second email linking you to a payment page. You can request that this email be resent if need be. Make sure to check your junk/spam folders as well.

2. Will this work on consoles?

No. Games and most accessories only. Physical point cards are also eligible, but not digital point codes.

3. Do these work on Quick Picks/Deals of the Day/Trade-in Coupons?

Yes, Yes, and Yes!

4. How do I get my Quick Picks to show games?

This should be a basis to get it to work for whatever you are interested in. It is not a science though so be persistent.

5. Does this work on Pre-orders?

Yes, it does. The price will also automatically take off 10% of whatever the final selling point is due to the Pre-Price Guarantee that Amazon offers.

6. I have heard that these offers have expired/been removed, is this true?

There have been a few instances where codes expired or they ran out but The ECA and Amazon have usually rectified the situation within a week or so. Also, the Terms of Service state that any membership benefits can change or be canceled without any notice so keep that in mind when signing up.


7. Double and Triple stacking

This is no longer possible. Don't bother trying. Originally when the ECA would run out of codes and switch to a new batch members were able to stack codes. A glitch in Amazon's system would keep older codes in your account, and it was possible to add codes from the newer batches to obtain more than 10% off. Amazon found out about this, hence the reason the codes are currently down/ being worked on.

8. Begging/Asking for codes

This is not allowed. If you beg/ask for a code you will be permabanned. No questions asked.

9. Selling codes

Definitely a big no no. If you do this, you will get reported to the ECA and your account will be shut down.

10. If I make a pre-order with a code a cancel it, will the code still work?
Yes. Codes should remain in your account but again they will no longer stack. It is one code per game. Amazon and the ECA are working on codes tied into our accounts but this option is not yet available.

11. If I already have a pre-order made, can I add a 10% off code to it?

You can not add a anything to an order once it is made except a gift card. You can try emailing Amazon customer support and ask them to add it. Generally they have no issue doing this for you but it's a crap shoot.

12. What if I already have a pre-order with the old codes applied? Should I be worried?

We don't know definitively, but chances are good that Amazon will not touch the pre orders we have already made.[/QUOTE]

damn i had golden sun in my cart, and while checking all this out an hour went by so the discount isn't there anymore..i heard i can only order quick picks once a day, or is that something else?

The discount for Quick Picks only lasts for a day, they may show up again eventually though.

It worked for me but I ordered the actual card as opposed to the online code. The nice thing is the card was on sale for like $44.90, so I got the year for $40 and change.
 
Bah - Just got home and went to pre-order ODST and no more codes :cry:.

How long did it take them last time when the codes ran out to restock?

if you leave it in the cart for over an hour, the discount will time out, so just remove from cart and add it again, no problem. I've had this happen before. They say you can only order one Gold Box item a day, but I've had a few things I've really wanted on the same day and have on a few occasions ordered multiple, some in same order, some in seperate order. For instance, yesterday I got Raiden Fighter Aces in my Gold Box, I ordered one. After I completed, I was thinking about getting one for my friend and it would've given me the discount again. Give it a try, except the ECA codes are down...

i had a feeling they would run out of codes, so i created a few and saved them for a time like this.. .I have 5 codes that i am giving away in the next 15 minutes.. just pm me..

I have the 360 network adapter in my gold box for 69.32...I'm debating if its worth getting and if I should use a $30 off code on it.

the last time a batch of codes ran out, the next batch expired before they could run out, even with people (myself included) creating "back-up" codes.
 
I thought it was reported after this last batch came out that saving codes didn't work? Once a new code was generated with the previous one still unused, that original one came up as invalid.
 
gah, I just...JUST!!!! finally traded my 50% code for 2 $30 codes and now this bullshit.

I swear if everyone is gonna save a bunch of codes so am I!

yeah, but what about those who want to use it on multiple accounts. i.e. the amazon traders. I have credit on 3 different accounts and whos to say i can use my ECA discount on them.
 
Thankfully my last code worked for my ODST pre-order and I've had my pre-orders covered early. I expect for the ECA to get this problem solved quickly.

On a side note, I just saw Old Boy last week and Lady Vengeance last night, great movies and I have to see the other movie in the triology.
 
They ran out of codes a few days ago but replenished them in less than an hour. I guess it is taking considerably longer this time (still not working). They must not get very many in a batch, though, since the last set didn't last long.

I personally like JSA the most after Oldboy. But that might be because I wrote an entire paper on that one.

Also, from now on I am at least going to hit get new code after I use one so that will at least have one damn code saved. But If I hear some of you cags bragging about how I saved 20 codes in a word file, blah, blah. I'm gonna horde away...
 
Damn, that sucks. The day I finally get some good games in my gold box too! Uncharted 2, Ratchet & Clank, and Gran Turismo 5!
 
wow..I had no idea there was a "batch" of codes for the entire userbase. I figured it would be limited number of codes for each instead of a batch that could be horded. I was ready to preorder batman and use a code if available but now I'll wait a bit to think about it. (I should have read this entire thread to be more clear on this matter)

Goldbox question: I followed all of the suggestions listed and now "Recommended for You" section is showing all videogames but the gold box section still has none. It has stuff like toothbrushes, CDs and toilet paper!
 
Quick questions: If I sign up today could I apply it to orders that I have already pre-ordered? I pre-ordered batman: arkham asylum with the $5 off and I am not sure if that promotion is still running. I would hate to cancel the pre-order and apply the 10% off code and not get the $5.
 
Anyone having trouble generating ECA codes today? When I hit the link to get a new code, it keeps giving me the last one I've already used.

I only have games in my browser history and recommendations, and i only get games in my goldbox about 75% of the time. There are days (like today) I have no games at all in my quick picks and then the next day, I have 2-4.

It'll probably take them a week to get new codes... assuming they don't screw up and get one time use codes again.

I was going to pick up Star Ocean 4 since it showed up in my Quick Picks today... maybe this is the gods telling me to skip it and wait for another drop. :)
 
As a tip if you have anything preordered you can cancel it and the coupon will be back into your account. Then put all the stuff you want in your cart and checkcout. You should get the 10% off on all gaming stuff.

The only problem with ECA is that the Tax basically kills any deal. It's like $5.00 per game for me. Which practically cancels out the discount from my ECA.

well maybe amazon is trying to help me out for not having any ECA coupons...by having no quick picks today...literally the quick picks sections of the goldbox is missing lol

I found an ECA code that I had generated a few weeks ago but did not enter, and it still worked. I thought that they expired within days of generation if it was not applied to your account. Anyway, hopefully the new codes will be out soon.
 
i want to join for the 10% off (i've actually purchased almost 3 games in the past 2 months), but i don't understand the whole code thing. and now hearing they're out makes me not want to pay for it at all -.-

also, will all the codes expire by the end of september? does taht mean no more codes period?
