[There are currently no known available vouchers, credits, promos, codes, etc. that can be manually applied to purchases.]

Note: Be sure to check DRM prior to purchase. It will typically be listed to the right of the description, just above the System Requirements. There are several instances where games may vary in DRM type even within the same bundle. You have been warned.

"Contrary to current trends, we decided to go for clever and addictive entertainment for hardcore players."

Well, aren't you guys just adorable? And why does A-Men have an age check before you can view its cartoonish platformer graphics?

Way back in the day, I owned a game called Enemy Nations. It was a 4X type game that was ever-so-proud of itself with passages in the manual about how the machines at the time couldn't even run it on high resolutions so it was future-proof for years and stuff like that. It also had an amusing passage in the "setting up an online match" section about how they were supposed to have some sort of dedicated server option but then at the last minute some other company decided not to give it to them and wouldn't even tell them why. Obviously they had enough time to add this little screed to their manual. Also, the game kind of sucked and the AI was terrible and would do things like just randomly changing races mid-game or, after a point, just giving up and idling all its trucks and military vehicles.

You can actually download it for free but I couldn't even get it to run on an XP machine in 98 compatibility to see it years later in its full high res glory; I doubt it can be made to run on a Win7/8 box. Anyway, when I read companies getting too cute and editorial in their product descriptions I'm always reminded of Enemy Nations.

I've seen a number of indie devs make some variation on that 'Unlike the current trends, our game doesn't hold your hand and is 2hard4u!' statement.

I guess they didn't get the memo that is the current trend in indie games.

I always laugh to see Viking: Battle for Asgard in the Total War packs.

Same dev. It counts.

Anyway that collection may technically be all Steamworks now - remember that Medieval II Total War and Rome Total War can now be activated with retail keys.

I wonder if the Rome Total War Alexander key will eventually be added as redeemable.

Have you tried this yourself? I haven't seen anything via web-searching on the topic that says they could be redeemed. And if so is the pack worth it if I have the 20% off coupon? The pack hasn't gone on sale on Steam for a quite a while, but it would likely be cheaper there if I traded with a Russian while it was on sale.

Rome: Total War & Medieval 2 Total War Retail keys now accepted by Steam.

Medieval 2 Total War Retail activates expansion too.

It's very recent change. Hasn't been officially announced, but I suspect it will be when they release Steamworks patch. This is made to ensure continuity of multiplayer after Gamespy's dead.

I don't own the games (they're not my style.) I'm saying there's a chance this would work. :p

However Camthur wasn't so lucky.

I tried everything I could to register my Rome:Total War CD key on steam, but it wouldn't work. I tried capitalizing everything, I tried the "is that a zero or an O thing". I tried removing all the dashes and various combinations together. No luck.

Might anybody who successfully registered a cd version tell me the hoops they had to jump through to get it to register? (if any)
Basically if you already own the games from an earlier GG sale or from another store, it wouldn't hurt to try the keys. And I just got madjoki'd.

Tried activating a retail copy of Rome: Total War Gold Edition, mind you it was a Mac retail copy, and it didn't work.  I might go ahead with the pack if the only thing that doesn't activate is Alexander, if I really feel I want it later it'll eventually go up on sale for $1 or so.

I hope so. Would make me feel better about my "oopsie" buying it from GG.
I did the same thing, bought Alexander expansion and I even revealed the activation key and input it into Steam before I realized it wasn't a steam key. But then I emailed support with a sob story about how I'm a loyal GG customer and it was my first time not checking the DRM before I buy, and they refunded me my purchase in blue coins. But that was right after I made the purchase so YMMV.

Don't know much about the game, though.

Not really interested.
It has Jenette Goldstein (Vasquez from Aliens) voicing a character named Vasquez. There's no way I could NOT be disappointed in this game if there's not a xenomorph hitching a ride on the fire truck and stalking you through the burning building.

I imagine if it was made by Bethesda or only made for consoles originally you would know who the lead dev is and if he puts ketchup on his eggs or not.

For the record I hate anyone that puts ketchup on eggs.
It figures - another reason for you to hate me. ;)

I like my eggs scrambled w/ ketchup, BTW.

Other egg preparations, okay, I get it, but scrambled eggs are boring as fuck without ketchup or something.

This exists? I've never seen it anywhere locally. ;_;

I eat migas (fried scrambled eggs with stale tortillas) with ketchup on the side. My mother eats it with salsa she makes herself.
Where are you? Its carried at Target (and local grocery stores too) so I assume its carried nation-wide. Or are you not in the USA?

Edit: Salsa is great too.
