OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you. :)

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) since they do have the abillity to bann you from all GameRush locations if they want to.

The trade values changed yesterday....there is a new flyer out....I'd have the new prices but I stupidly forgot the flyer at the store after some confusion.

A small tidbit of news...

the reason I got delay at GameRush today was because the cashier who rang me up for the BOGO 50% off accidently scanned the coupon twice...

Well it took 50% off BOTH games and the guy popped out the reciept...and was like "shit...!" I argued a little bit but I was getting a decent deal already so I didn't press it. Anyways...just throwing that bit of information out there.
Also tried to get Donkey Konga again, but this time the manager chimed in with the tidbit that since it is an accessory, it doesn't count as a game.
Whats fun is they sell it New as an Acc. , but as a game preowned.

I just pre-ordered Doom 3 Limited Edition for $30 at Gamerush!

I go up to the counter with my 3 used Xbox games to trade-in and tell the girl at the counter I want to pre-order Doom 3 LE. She said that I can't do it because the deal only works with games priced at $49.99. Okay, fine even though I mentioned I did it with the Halo 2 LE and just paid the difference on it. A few minutes later while I'm walking around the store looking for something else to buy, she comes up to me and says she'll try doing it anyway and I can just pay the $10 difference for the LE. Cool. When she starts to scan my trade-in's & the coupons though, Doom 3 LE came up as $29.99!!! I checked the receipt and it took off $30 instead of $20 like it's supposed to. She couldn't understand why but thats what it rang up as and after using my credit, I only had to pay $4 out of pocket. :p

I know this is a total YMMV, but it worked for me so it's worth a try.

I don't believe getting the Doom 3 CE for 29.99 is YMMV. I got it the same way as norkusa did except it was all upfront. No one came to me and said I'll try to make it work. It just worked.

Really? The way the chick that helped me explained it, it sounded as if it was some kind of computer error or something. Even the person working with her said they tired to do the same thing the other day for someone else and it didn't work then. Maybe Blockbuster recently fixed the deal in their computers and they didn't know it?

Either way, I'm happy I got a Doom 3 CE for $30. :p

I did the trade 3, get a preorder for $29.99. I preordered NBA Street Vol3 for PS2. Here's what I traded and the value:

Soul Calibur 2 PS2 - $8
THUG 1 PS2 - $8
MVP Baseball 2004 XBOX - $8

Please guys I'm dying and I need help.

the same thing is happening to me, but i was talking to my gamerush manager, and he said that you can preorder games, which is true. also, he assured me that they will get them in, but they are just waiting for an official launch date and price. did gamerush get the DS on launch day (11-21)?

Talked to a guy today - as soon as as they have the barcode (or something) they will start preorders.. I'll say real soon...

Traded in a few today for Starfox and Tekken 5...

XBOX - Armed and Dangerous $5.00
XBOX - DOA 3 GH - 7.00
GCUBE - Burnout - 7.00
Gcube - Jimmy Neutron Jet Fusion - 8.00
Gcube - Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius - 8.00
XBOX - Amped 2 $8.00
PS2 - Serious Sam Next Encoutner - 1.50 (I just kept this one for a future promo).

Any Suggestions on what games to Pre-order (GCN or PS2)?

I have enough for 2 games. So far thinking about:

Killer 7 (Any difference between PS2 and GC version?)
StarFox Assault
TimeSplitters: Future Perfect

Any suggestions welcome (preferrably multiplayer games). Also, I'm really trying to narrow it down between Timesplitters and Starfox. I didn't really enjoy the fast paced action of the first 2 timesplitters but the new one looks good. I like Halo's multplayer and Starfox looks similar to it.

Picked up some cool games this morning... B1 G1 50% off

DC - Grandia II - $2.99
PS1- The Granstream Sage $6.99
PS1 - Saga Friontier II $9.99
PS1 - Tales Of Destiny II - 19.99
PS1 - Wild Arms 2 $9.99
PS1 - Fatal Fury Wild Ambition $6.99
XBX - Otogi Myh Of Demons $14.99

Does anyone here have Tales Of Destiny II? I need a copy of the instruction booklet...

I don't think you can go wrong with 'StarFox Assault' - try that one.

Anyone know if the new PSX deal is going to have restrictions like only once a day per customer? This one GR has 15 or so games I want to pick up but if I can only do it once a day I'll have to figure what to toss out of my hopes as I can't go back two days in a row because its a 45 minute trip each way if lucky.

I would go in early and hide them/reserve them/buy them early and try to adjust your price the day of the sale... remember that the people in the store will buying these also.

"Any games right now you can buy low and sell high like Drake? I want to get RE4 before the $29.99 deal is over."

If you have a TRU in your area you might want to check if they are selling La Pucelle Tactics. I picked up a copy for 8.98 today and traded it in for 25 at GR. Some people in the TRU clearance thread have found it for less than 8.98. That seems to be the most Drake like trade in deal.
has anyone seen a complete zelda the minish cap at their local GR?
yes, i've seen them selling the game. i found it near the nintendo ds games. g'luck! :)

here are some trade-in prices:

star wars: rogue leader (gc) - $3
halo 2 (xbox) - $30
primal (ps2) - $5
contra advance: the alien war (gba) - $2

Traded a few games, did the trade 3 get preorder for $30 deal

Spongebob 1-Gcube-$10
Tony Hawk 3-PS2-$7
Earthworm Jim-GBA-$5

Used those to preorder GT4 for $10, whenever that comes out
Does Fable still get 30?
I hope so, cuz Full Spectrum Warrior just dropped from $20 to $8. Dont know if that affected Fable.
Does Fable still get 30?
it does, traded it on the 25th. btw. metal gear solid 2 is only getting 1.50 now. max payne dropped from 4-3 dollars trade in

Jan. 27th:

Mojo XBOX: (still) $5
Burnout GC: $7
and the shocker...
Drome Racers GBA: $12.50

I had traded in 2 movies at $5 each and then he told me that Drome Racers was $12.50. I thought he meant my running total was $12.50, and that Drome fetched $2.50. All the other GBA games I traded in got no more than $6 so this was a complete shock, but I'll take it. This is another one of the games I got at the CC summer $5 sale. At the time I was upset because I wasn't in on that deal soon enough for the console games - they were all gone before the sale officially started. I got a bunch of GBA games though and have just this month used many of them for Gamerush trade-ins, so it was worth it.

There was nothing else I wanted to preorder but I just started playing Pikmin with my son (5 years old next week) and he loves it so I figured I'd get Pikmin 2 while the deal was still on. Yeah, I realize it will probably retail for $30 soon enough, but I traded in 2 movies I never watch, a game I bought at TRU for $3, and 2 games that never get played any more, and ended up with Pikmin 2 and a $4.51 credit.

So, that $5 DVD credit can be used on Gamerush purchases???

Yep, same store, same credit.....I have them put everything on my Value Card
Does anyone know, if GameRush is taking pre-orders on the PSP system yet?

Thanks!
EB has preorders for 400$ - Console + 3 games + junk

PSP will be to rich for my blood.

Rumor has it that MGS3, if available, is only 19.99 at KB toys. Buy a few and trade em in to GR for 30. Do a combo deal to maximize credit and savings...

I understand your point. I have $432.00 in store credit at gamerush and am planning on using it for the PSP.
Yeah, sure enough. What's even better is you can trade the movies and games into ANY Blockbuster (I only do movies at my local non-Gamerush Blockbuster though because I want to save the games for trade-in deals) - just get a gift card and then go use it at Gamerush. I wish I had known about Gamerush/Blockbuster last October when they were offering $8 for every DVD. I have at least 20 I could have traded in. Then I could have gotten all the Nov/Dec 2004 GC releases (Paper Mario, Metroid, Tennis, etc) without any cash out of pocket. Not sure if they were having any trade-in deals at the time though. Maybe now I'll build up enough credit to get the DS if they ever get one in.

Some more trades:

Ace Combat 5- $25
I-Ninja- $7
Castle Shikojami 2- $1.50

The manager said that the new deal coming soon will be trade in 2 games get any new game for $35.

But if trade-in value is $18, then the selling price should only be $29.99.

As part of the trade in deal for a pre-order game, do you have to pay the pre-order off entirely at the time of the trade in ? Or can you make a down payment on it like any other pre-order ?
As part of the trade in deal for a pre-order game, do you have to pay the pre-order off entirely at the time of the trade in ? Or can you make a down payment on it like any other pre-order ?
You have to put at least $5 on it. But w/ this deal going on now, I would just put the entire $30 just in case. There have been a few times where the GR will say I have to pay $1 when I pick up the game.

I tried at a couple of BB to put like $15 - 20 *the value of the trade in) down on the game and they told me that was not allowed. Thjey said even though it was a pre-order the game had to be entirely paid off since I was using a "special deal". Just wanted to know if this was the case everywhere. The guy said the computer would not let him do it.

you have to pay off the game entirely since you are using a deal, but if you arent doing a deal, you only have to put down $5

Gamerush will NOT be taking preorders for the PSP due to issues concerning product availability. That was according to an email we received at work today.

The next deal is trade any 2 games (with the same exclusions as the last deal) and preorder any game for $34.99. So this deal will no longer work on new games as well, just preorders. And if you use this deal, you MUST pay off the entire $34.99 on the same day.

hmm, i remember one of the gamerushes in los angeles(in culver city on sepulveda and jefferson) did not take preorders on the ds systems, but they still sold DS systems(or were planning to anyways). It may not be possible to preorder the PSP at gamerush but it will probably be possible to buy one after they have been out for a couple of weeks(simply by walking up and buying one off the shelf without a preorder).

Of course this is just my guess - I also noticed that gamerush never has any xbox systems in stock for sale, or when they do get them, they sell out right away.

In the Cleveland area, the gamerush stores always has xbox systems in stock but never any PS2 systems. Does any one know if you can preorder PSP games at gamerush ? It's a shame that gamerush is not taking any orders for the PSP system. I think they will be missing out on money that they could have made from all those pre-orders.
