Well I just went to trade in my copy of Farcry and when I got there they told me that the preorders I switched to the 50 dollar xbox 360 games would have to be switched back. I snapped and asked how you could take back something after you already gave it to me, especially considering a manager is the only one that can switch preorders. The told me if I refused to switch back my preorders than my account would get banned. I didn't switch back my preorders and I don't intend to.

My GR has been getting pretty nasty too!

They used to be so nice, but they are nazi'd out. They use to give me 49.99 when I cancelled or switch a pre-order, but now that would only give me 29.99, I know this is common, but to pay extra to switch a pre-order, gee whiz.

I was going to get my Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo price adjusted because they both dropped to 49.99, and they said "this is the last time doing I'm doing this, next time, the price you pre-order is the price you pay". I thought that was kind of unnecesarry.

Times are a changing at your friendly old Gamerush.

My GameRush is still nice about it. I use the excuse "I didn't like the demo" or I'm not sure if these games are compatible with the 360 and I'm selling my XBOX. They never seem to care at my GameRush....at least the one girl, she's nice.

Don't you have the new receipt for the switched preorder, I would say that is a contract. I don't see how they can change it without your permission. I would ask to speak to the District Leader.

The class action against GR is brewing as we speak.
 
Funny thing about class action lawsuits is that out of every million or so that get discussed, about 3 get to the point where it goes to court or there is a settlement

There seems to be a class action lawsuit against them every other week. I have been apart of three against them in the past. Most of the time its sign up for the settlement and agree to take no further action and they shell out gift cards. The best one was when they still were running blockbuster music and it ended up being $50 in gift cards....

BBV has never treated the customer right so why should GR be different. If they are upset about people taking advantage of the good trade deals with multiple copies, then they should change the policy or fuck up.
 
I know Gamerush has been notorious for not getting games in at all - particularly those that aren't considered "big" releases. I'm starting to get concerned about my Gun for Xbox preorder. When I called to see what day they are expecting it to come in, they said they weren't getting it in. Then they corrected themselves and said, "Oh, there's a few pre-ordered but we're not getting it for rental".

Does anyone have any experience in this? As in, if they ain't getting it in for rental, then you mind as well forget about getting in your pre-order as well?

I thought Gun was getting enough hype that it might be considered a somewhat popular title?
 
Just got back from GR and traded in a PSP and a few games. One reason I decided to trade in was the fact they had the 25% extra store credit when trading in 3 games or more sign up. I asked about it and the girl called someone and said they could not honor it, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD A SIGN ADVERTISING SAID DEAL! Oh well, at least they lemme pre-order PD0 w/the $29.99 deal.

GameRush will get Gun aswell as Matrix Path of Neo, hopefully the limited edition one too, i know its in the system for preorder and i have it preorder but i havent heard anything about what exclusive content it has other than the regular version. But anyway you probably spoke to another incompetent employee, seriously though i feel sorry for some of us CAG'ers because the employees you talk to are just so uninformed. Anyway Gun and Matrix are both contractually bound street date titles i dont think we will get any Rentals in or at least not right away but each GameRush will receive the shipment the day beforehand so that they can meet the street date so for GUN it will arrive to GameRush on Mon but since we cant sell it to Tues that is when you will get it. Also i was checking the computer for new preorders and the following titles have been added

Xbox 360 - Elder Scrolls Oblivion Collectors Edition, Demonik, Fifa Soccer 06, Perfect Dark Zero Limited Edition, Splinter Cell 4

PS2-Suikoden V

Sorry the list wasnt longer it just that i didnt write anything down so its all about what i can remember at 1:00 am in the morning.

They already have the pre-order bonus for Gun (a pack of playing cards), so they will definitely be getting it.

Damn, you beat me to it! I just found out about that tonight and wanted to break the news. I am trying to get them to switch my Suikoden Tactics preorder to Suikoden V. The guy there tonight didn't know how to do it but said he would leave a note for the manager to deal with it tomorrow. I hope they get it done before Tactics comes in (Tues or Weds). I have 2 things going for me - tons of preorders that I rarely switch/cancel, and going from one Suikoden title to another. The only potential issue is that I'm going from a $39.99 game to a $49.99 game - but of course I used the $29.99 deal on it so that shouldn't matter. It is just a matter of whether they can figure out how to do it more than anything, though :D.

The only other thing I checked was Odama for GC - NOT in there yet.

Need trade in value for:

Total Overdose PS2 (Remember everyone that this is $19.99 at Target but $39.99 everywhere else and that the $19.99 is the regular price at Target). It just came out beginning of October.

Since I was calling them to check on a preorder (Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer for Xbox - not in yet), I asked for the trade in value of Total Overdose. It gets $19.

Also checked Nascar 2005: Chase for the Cup for Xbox (available on clearance at my Target for $15), and that gets $12.

Thanks kojubat. I will mostlikely finish this game quickly so I can trade it in for the price I paid for it minus tax so it will only cost me like two bucks.

So this weeks shitty customer service, was a refusal of the GR manager to give me the game case for a game I was renting that I told her that I intended to keep. Now I have successfully done this at my freindly good GR, but this woman has the worst attitude. I'm curious if GR actually have a policy on this in general.

But there was a silver lining, I rented a game that, it turns out I had actually bought used a while back. I just didn't remember, so I will return the stupid game at the end of the extended rental period. I guess karma was at work :)

Hopefully she has her appropriate karma coming as well.

so If I refuse to switch my preorders and they ban me, I should still be able to get what I already have preordered right? It would be going way to far if they didn't give me my games. I mean it's not like I hacked their system and switched them.

You should be able to get all the non- x360 preorders .From my knowledge of Blockbuster/ GameRush a ban doesnt seem possible at least an official ban anyway what they are probably thinking of doing is doing their best to contain your account by puting it on hold at the other GameRush stores in the area. Which means you should still be able to trade at a local Blockbuster card and load up on Giftcards or value cards. But it seems to me that these are the only options open, you can keep going on your coarse of action and the only thing you'll probably get is the credit you originally got for your games back, you may get back 29.99 plus tax back in trade credit to do with as you please since I think this is what you originally paid for your original preorders anyway, or switch to an acceptable pre-order for 29.99. I mean its not like this is your fault because whoever did the preorders for the x360 games in the first place messed up but its not like its any money lost either because you didnt pay any extra so it'll work out to you paying the actual cost of the x360 game rather than more.
 
All used games are 25% off at Gamerush. Also they are still running the trade in any two used games and get a preorder new game for $29! Great deal if you ask me and still one of the better deals out there.

I read your original posts and I still don't understand your situation... what happened with your 360 pre-orders to make GR force you to change them? I have a couple 360 preorders from the trade two, get a preorder for $30 deal and it sounds like you're saying that GR is going back on that deal and making you get non-360 games. Is that right? If so, I'm gonna be pretty pissed at them.

that's exactly right, GR is going back on that deal. I switched my FFXII and KH2 preorders to Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo since they we're both the same price as my original preorders. When I went back in a few days later they told me that I would have to switch my preorders back to the original ones, when I told them it was unfair and I refused to do it they said they would ban my account. So now my account is suspended for the time being until I go see the main manager who is only in two days this whole week. both of which i have to work.

This sounds more like they have placed your account on hold, rather than banned you. Still they cannot force you to change back your preorders, so I would challenge the manager to justify the hold.

What I find interesting is how they are using the ability to ban trading as if they are taking a priviledge away from you, rather than the fact that your helping them make a profit off of the games you trade in, that they then sell at a profit.

If GR are truely not making a profit off of these trades they really need to shut down the entire process, or treat this as an income source and stop banning people for perceived infractions.
 
So did Kameo come in yet, EB had it listed as released today 11/8. I've actually had this on preorder for almost a year (originally as XBOX)

Wow, that's ridiculous. Even if their policy wasn't to allow 360 pre-orders at that price, they should still honor your switch because their employee allowed it. And to ban your account is crazy... they want to punish you because THEY f'ed up and you won't let them cover their asses? Ridiculous. You should let that manager have it.
 
well I already know what the manager is going to tell me he's going to say something along the lines of "when you came in here and asked about it I told you it wouldn't work with xbox 360 games" But the thing is I asked him back when all the games we're 59.99 and he said that they were more expensive so I couldn't get them. Once they dropped down to 49.99 I went in to see if I could switch them and was allowed to. I don't see why I should have to switch them back especially considering that I already traded in more games and preordered FFXII and KH2 again already. Theres nothing else I want to preorder. I already have like 6 games preordered there.

I wrote an e-mail to corporate blockbuster last night and I'm sure they will just send me some "we don't give a shit" automated feedback letter, but it was worth a shot.

I guess I'll find out next week whether they've done that to me when I go to pick up Tiger and Madden for 360. If they tell me I can't have them, I don't have any idea what I'd switch them to... there's nothing coming up in the next couple months that I actually want that isn't on 360, and there's no way I'm waiting another four months to get something good like FFXII. I already have to do that for Zelda and the way GR is, they've probably lost my preorder for it already.

Soooo anyone get their Xbox Path of Neo yet? I know there are a few of us who pre-ordered the Limited Edition, which no longer exists, so I'd be interested to know how GR handles this, hope they don't claim the LE has been delayed and refuse to hand over the regular version, or anything like that.

Not to be rude, but those deals have been going on for a while now.

So, do you think GameRush will actually let us pick up the 360 games next week? I have a few launch titles on order :)

Gamespot is reporting that Ebgames is already shipping Kameo and the other 1st party titles will follow shortly. I wonder if GR will also get their copies in this week.

Maybe I'll check next week when I trade Star Wars back in.

I was told I could pick up Kameo and Perfect dark on the 18th, which in GR terms means the 16th (the Wednesday before the 18th). This in turn means that people will start complaining about not being able to pick up these games around the 14th.
 
I just stopped in my local GR to see if they had any copies of Fable TLC, they only got 1 copy in when it came out and the manager bought it...

Dude told me they had rental copies of Neo Matrix whatever it's called but not for sale copies. I 'm not getting either though since I dont care for the Matrix.

He also said they are expecting all their 360 games and accesories in late this week or early next week and as soon as they get it in it's hitting the shelf for sale no enforced street dates on the stuff. BUT they can't rent the games till midnight on the 22nd.
