GFC is Back in Business! Worldwide Package Forwarding & Item Ordering Services ^_^.

1) Direct Request (DR) Services - The service that started it all, our Direct Request (DR) Service allows you to buy just about anything you want from the USA and have us order it and ship it directly to you. This is perfect for those of you who are unable to buy from USA merchants that will not ship to Canada directly or who do not accept Canadian/International credit cards. We charge $2.00 per item ordered plus shipping. Additional fees apply for items weighing more than 5 pounds shipped or more than $150 USD in value. Our online form will calculate everything for you automatically and there's no obligation to buy anything until you check out with Paypal. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our services.

2) Package Forwarding (PF) Services, Address & Rates - [PREMIUM SERVICE] If you want to order the items yourself, you can! You can order from any website that ships to the USA. Ship the items to our secure UPS mail box and we will repackage them and ship them to you in Canada (or any other country for that matter). Typical fees apply for this service as usual and you pay only $1.00 per package received at our mail location. Quick, easy and GREAT for limited-time sales when the Direct Request option may not be quick enough. Please note we cannot ship: meat, cigarettes or other nicotine items (including electronic cigarettes and their accessories), alcohol, weapons or gun accessories (including paintball/airsoft), pornographic materials, toxic chemicals (including several cleaning liquids), fertilizer or any items that are illegal to ship internationally. Also, any items containing NI-CD or LI-Ion Batteries can no longer be shipped via USPS (Laptops, cell phones, handheld game systems, etc.) and must be shipped via UPS instead. If you have questions about a particular item, please contact us first before ordering.  You will receive an Email invoice with PDF attachment explaining line-by-line details of all charges and full payment options. GFC PF Service Requires Premium Membership which costs $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year (discount of two free months) and is available in our GFC Store. Full details on website.

3) GYROS Updates - After you have ordered your items, filled out the forms and notified us of your order we will add your items to our GYROS page (generally within a week or less). Once your items have been received, we will invoice you for the shipping costs + our service charge. After receiving your payment, your items will be shipped out to you in a timely manner and you will receive an Email with all relevant shipping information ^_^. If you have any questions feel free to Email us at [email protected] .

Service Charges (Free Members):

GFC Charges $2.00 per item forwarded for standard or "Free" Members. Please note that an item in this case refers to each item within the packages you ship to us. So if you were to order say 2 DVD Movies, an Umbrella and a Towel, this would count as 4 items total. Items that are sold in "Lots" such as multiple baseball cards will be counted as one item, subject to our discretion. Also, UPS Charges me to pick up the packages, so there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per package received. I will add into the invoice for you when I get your iitems in.

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be shown on your invoice and will be clearly explained. In the near future, this service charge will be automatically calculated for package forwarding items the way it is currently automatically calculated on our Direct Request 2.0 system.

So Again the things to remember:

1) Ship to the address above
2) Ship all packages in my name (James Parks) and if you want to include your information as a “Gift Message” on the order, you certainly can do that. This is required though to be in my name as the UPS store will only sign for packages in my name and will refuse all others.
3) You MUST fill out the Direct Request (DR) form on the link above to let me know what’s coming
4) Once I receive your DR submission and all your items, I will invoice you for the shipping cost plus service fees.

Estimated Shipping Costs:

The following are shipping estimates for standards weights. This will give you a pretty good idea of how much it will cost to ship your item to Canada. If you live in another country, feel free to inquire by contacting us directly.

For all items from 0 - 4 pounds we typically use USPS First Class Mail:

$00.00 = 0 Pounds / Digital Items
$09.00 = 6 ounces
$09.00 = 7 ounces
$09.50 = 12 ounces
$11.00 = 1 Pound
$16.50 = 2 Pounds
$22.00 = 3 Pounds
$27.50 = 4 Pounds

For all items from 5 pounds and up we typically use USPS Priority Mail:

$38.00 = 5 Pounds
$40.00 = 6 Pounds
$42.50 = 7 Pounds
$45.00 = 8 Pounds
$47.50 = 9 Pounds
$49.50 = 10 Pounds
$52.00 = 11 Pounds
$54.50 = 12 Pounds
$57.50 = 13 Pounds
$55.00 = 14 Pounds
$62.50 = 15 Pounds
$60.00 = 16 Pounds
$63.00 = 17 Pounds
$70.00 = 18 Pounds
$72.50 = 19 Pounds
$75.00 = 20 Pounds
$77.50 = 21 Pounds
$80.00 = 22 Pounds
$83.00 = 23 Pounds
$85.50 = 24 Pounds
$88.00 = 25 Pounds

For any items over 25 pounds, we'll have to manually invoice you.

On Hold & Unclaimed Merchandise:

GFC allows you to send items to our secure UPS Package Forwarding address (listed above). After you order your items it is your responsibility to properly fill out our Package Forwarding (PF) Form on our website located here: http://www.gamesforcanada.com/package-forwarding.php . Once you do this, we will be notified of the items you have ordered and you will pre-pay the shipping/service charges up front for us to process and re-ship them to you.

The first 30 days are free to hold all Package Forwarding items. This is plenty of time for you to successfully order from the various stores that you want and submit our PF form to notify us. This also allows for adequate time for you to request us to combine items into a single package.

After 30 days, there will be a $5.00 USD charge per ITEM per week (flat rate fee) until the payment has been paid in full. Since you are pre-paying for the item costs, you will be responsible for both shipping to your country, our GFC Service Charges and any processing fees associated with the transaction.

After 90 days, GFC will not be responsible for unclaimed or missing merchandise sent to us at our Package Forwarding address. We suggest that you fully insure all orders sent to our address in case of loss or damage as we will not be responsible for missing or damaged goods.

RoganSarine, I'll see what I can do :) I'm not sure how fresh they'd be after they went through the mail but who knows. Maybe we can have an in-Canada GFC Baking day sometime in the future.

Fuzzy, yes RoganSarine is somewhat of a GFC elf. Not quite a short and his voice isn't as high-pitched but he's very good at what he does nonetheless. Now if I could only find a way to get him to make toys for free. Hmmm....

telepathy, according to Amazon it is shipping out tomorrow. The delivery date estimate shows as 02/26/2010. We'll see. Not sure why it'd be slower than their 2-Day norm, but if it's only a day or two it shouldn't make a big difference. Funny that we pre-ordered that way back in September =) Wow...

Yeah, it was so long ago from when I was ordering stuff all the time & now, not that much at the moment.
(Sent a DR for a package I forwarded & may have another one very soon).

Off-Topic: Hey Goomba, do you have any idea how long it takes/how I can make one of the custom user tags under my username? I was wondering if you knew if it was market place, join date, ask Cheapy, or post count related (Speaking of Cheapy, congrats on winning that prize on CAGCast a couple weeks back :p)

Rogan I'm pretty sure you can do that at any time. I'm assuming you mean the "CAG Veteran" thing. Just do this:

1) Go to the very top of the CAG page and look for a gear logo like this:
navbarcog.gif

2) Click the gear logo.
3) On the far left of the page you should see "Your Control Panel"
4) Go to - Your Profile > Edit Your Details
5) Look for "Custom User Title"

DONE! If you need more details let me know and I'll try to walk you through it. It should be available to everyone!

PS: Thanks for the congrats on winning the Tornado game. I haven't played it yet but it did come in :) Looks pretty cool actually.

Unfortunately, the Custom User Title option doesn't appear :( Maybe I have to wait for my anniversary (again -- stupid CAG deleting my account) :p I have more than enough everything else I'm pretty sure.

Dammit! I hate the olympics, WHY HASN'T MY GOOMBA MAIL ARRIVED YET! Curiously, was it shipped in a box or two bubble mailers?

Hyperactive Tuesday Comment: Hey Goomba, kind of a random question, but... How hard do you think it would be to make a side-website project whereby I creative custom clothing? I have a friend who is a graphic designer major, and I do have the means to be able to do it. I just have never actually ventured into entrepreneuring into the digital world. The closest I ever got was website design/website space selling, but that was only relatively successful (broke even in the end). I have already broken even with the equipment from doing it for friends, but I'm pretty sure I can be undersold by the more mainstream cafepress which is where I will have problems (unless I can find a place that sells premium shirts for cheap bulk prices). The only real start-up costs would be my time designing a website since I do have a purolator account whereby I get shipping 75% off. I just can't decide if it's worth the hassle. Was hoping you could give me an outside opinion.

Take a look at similar websites and possible ask the owner. Research and analyze what you found. I doubt a paragraph from a stranger here could be remotely close to what ACTUALLY happens.

An alternative way to make money is a seasonal cleaning business with a group of friends. It also helps to know a bunch of slobs in a University residence and negotiate discounts. It helps a lot to know dates on Res checks by Dons and moving out dates from various Universities. One big problem is maintaining a disciplined team that will help out.

Hey Goomba, do you only deal with games? Reason I'm asking is the fact that sometimes DVD/Blu-rays are so much cheaper at times on Amazon.com as opposed to Amazon.ca, and I'd gladly use your service. :)

A prime example... about 2 weeks ago I received DBZ S9 from Amazon.ca for CDN$ 44.99 and on .COM it's $18.99
(unless I can find a place that sells premium shirts for cheap bulk prices).
Maybe Midland Liquidators? IIRC they sell t-shirts in boxes of 100

#960 / 1888260825 - Marvel UA 2 (Xbox 360) + Fringe S1 Blu-Ray - Paid. Ordered. Need Additional Shipping $.

Just wondering how much I need to pay you for the additional shipping.

He will import any item for you as long as you pay the shipping.

Adrian, the thing is, I'm not going into this for the reason of making money. To be completely honest, I make enough money. It's mainly a hobby that I enjoy doing. Surely, there could be alternative routes and people to ask, but asking Goomba is actually far from uninformative.

Goomba has been dealing with customers for a long time, so he may be able to give me insight on what I would need to put into a website to make it properly functional (IE: The amount of time I would need to put in), and may even give me other additional information I havn't though of.

In several years of starting multiple side-projects and businesses, I can assure you no ones opinion is ever invalidated. It's amazing where you can find useful information. Also, Goomba's service, would be slightly similar. There are multiple package forwarding companies, but he can undermine them with a needed-service and prices, whereby I wouldn't have a platform to technically advertise. I was just asking for his input, not necessarily asking him if it's a viable option (because as I said, I've already broke even and don't need more money).
Maybe Midland Liquidators? IIRC they sell t-shirts in boxes of 100
Wonder what the cost would be and how well the shirts are made. I don't need anything AE quality, but I don't want that $0.50 cent shirt syndrome :p

Anyway, thanks Goomba for shipping my stuff out. I didn't realize it wasn't shipped yet, but I guess that gives me more time to finish up batman arkham asylum!

Midland shirts are half decent, obviously not spectacular, but not insanely cheap. They sell singles for like $5 if you just wanna try one out. I don't recall the pricing on multiples, maybe $3 each @ 100, maybe less. It is possible to bargain with the guys there, if you want stuff cheaper. They're a tool store, so it's just like that.

So the gameshark store sent out an email saying they ran out of the Comic Con fightpads and will be offering the regular fightpads b1g1 instead.

I'm not interested in the regular ones, but if anyone wants two 360 fightpads, or if two people want to get in on the deal let me know, otherwise I'll be canceling the order.

The cost was $47 total, so $23.50 per person and then whatever Goomba charges to ship em to you.

They have Ryu, Ken, Blanka, Akuma and Chunli avail.

Hey guys, sorry that I wasn't on much today. I was asked to work overtime at the casino and when I got home my wife wasn't feeling well and I had to take her to the hospital (she's doing fine now by the way, so no worries). I am processing new orders that I've received and will get to your question as soon as I can. Thanks!

Wow, first time i visit this thread in a few days and I thought something really bad was about to follow. Glad to hear she's doing okay.

RoganSarine, first of all thanks again for fielding questions for me in my absence. You've been a huge help lately and I really do appreciate it. Secondly, your idea about the T-Shirt thing seems reasonable enough but let me tell you that it takes a LOT of work and likely will not make you a lot of money at least up-front. In all honesty you'd probably make more money with something like Cafe Press or similar where they do the printing of the Shirts for you and do all the shipping, but I've heard mixed reviews about the quality of their items. Like Threadless and Woot Shirts, the idea is to keep the designs good but the quality slightly lower to keep down costs. If you are thinking of starting your own company to print other people's shirts (which I think you are) then really you're going up against major giants but if you can improve upon the quality and keep prices competitive you'd have a good product for sure. Of course you'll have to spend a lot of time and money on advertising and getting word out about you which can be tricky. I'd say it's a great idea, but one that won't be easy and one you probably will need a talented group of committed people who are willing to work for little money. If you can pull all that together then I wish you the best. I am pretty much against buying and selling physical goods these days (other than ones other people order through me) as I've lost too much money in the past. GFC doesn't make me a whole lot if you factor in all the time I spend on it (I calculated last months profits to be about $0.10 USD an hour for time spent, but hey it adds up and it's a hobby of sorts). You get what you put into your business. The more love and energy you throw into your business the better it'll do. GFC isn't my first business and won't be my last, but it's by far my most successful. So just do a few test runs with your service and see how it goes. Who knows, maybe in a year's time I'll be ordering GFC shirts from you :)

spike32, thanks for your concerns. Nah, she's doing just fine (more or less). I came home today after a long day of work and she suddenly was having some trouble breathing, shortness of breath and general dizziness and heavy cough. We wanted to be totally sure what was going on so we brought her to the Emergency Room and did some tests/X-Rays and such. Turns out it's just a common cold, but it's always better safe than sorry. Hearing that made her feel a lot better so she'll be just getting a lot of rest, taking some medicine and drinking lots of fluids. Hopefully Mrs. Goomba will be back on her feet in no time :) She won't be helping with the packing of items this week though which means I not be 100% up to speed, but a snowstorm tomorrow may in fact have me home again from my University job, so it may be a wash. We shall see!

My bad didn't notice it was addressed to someone specifically. I just brush over text if it gets over a certain length.

Goomba, use your Goombalian magic to transfer the snow to the west coast please :p

I'm going skiing tomorrow (hopefully) because we got our second snow fall on the mountains like the entire season, and I don't want it to melt all away by morning, ha.

Also, curiously, what was with the switch in Wolverine games? What made me so special as to not get the originally planned copy? o_O

haha Goombalian is a pretty awesome word. I haven't yet learned to control the weather but I'll get right on that =) It does seem like this year we're getting more snow than you guys which is bizarre. Heck, the southern USA has had even more than we had. Talk about everything getting flipped upside down.

RoganSarine, I had to special order your game and it took a bit longer to get to me than expected that's all. When it did come in I had to wait for the weekend and got you a new PS3 case since the original one had sticker marks and scratches (the actual case not the game/manual/artwork or anything. So I just had to put it all together to make a near perfect copy. Sorry for the wait :)

** GFC UPDATE **

This may not be the most important update, but it is coming to GFC within the next week or so and it should be fun. I call it "What People Ordered" which will be a fun little section where you can see photographs of items people have ordered. No user details will be given and no prices or anything, just photos of items people have ordered.

It's kind of the visual version of GYROS for those of you who are curious what types of things people have ordered recently. I will more than likely just upload these to a Google/Picasa Web Folder that has public access. Should be fun just to take a minute or two and see what people are into. It may even spike interest in some items and give you ideas of things you may want :) More on this soon.

I think that is a good idea. It gives people like me some additional gift ideas and may inform me of deals that I don't know about...

Excellent :) I'm glad you like the idea. I'll see how it goes. If nothing else it's fun for me to look back as I've shipped literally thousands of items over the last few years. Kind of a nice nostalgic "look at what I accomplished" sort of thing. It's always fun seeing rare games I've shipped to that are not worth triple what people bought them for :)

More on this in the next week. Thanks guys!

Sorry to mess you about. But I'm afraid I'm going to have to cancel L4D2, there's a really good deal just been posted on the front page.

Sorry ):

Hey Goomba just left feedback, shirt looks awesome! I noticed you opened the bag to check the tshirt to see if it was ok (I'm assuming), thanks for that!!! :D

kathos, I'm glad you got it! Yes, I did open it to check that everything was alright and also I ordered one for myself too because I liked the design so much :) I hadn't ever bought from shirt.woot.com so it was a good test run. Definitely will have to buy from them again, it's a great deal. Thanks again for your support!

I like the idea, but curiously, would you take the picture before you send it out? The reason is, if the item is still on any kind of sale when the picture is uploaded, I would think the price may be a good thing to include. The cost isn't really an invasion of privacy, and it could potentially bring more service dollars your way if the deal is good/item is cool.

But that's just the CA_ in me.

telepathy, I did indeed. I'll send the invoice now for you :) Thanks!

RoganSarine, I would take the photo before I send the item out, yes. I actually do this for a lot of items any way just for my own records and thought it might be fun to share some of the item I send out since some of them are very unique and interesting. Maybe I will include the prices for some items if you think it'd be more helpful. Many sales are short-lived but it could be useful for future reference. I'll definitely consider that, thanks for the suggestion!

Telepathy, thanks for your fast payment. Glad to see people using the Amazon Gift Card option :) This will be enabled on the website in due time but for now just keep it in mind. I went ahead and put in your sniping bid on eBay. Hope we win! Talk to you soon!

I am watching the Olympic hockey game from work and Team USA is destroying Finland. How awesome would a gold medal final for USA VS Canada be? I will root for you guys later today!

Goomba can I get a price estimate for a Super Street Fighter 4 (PS3) @ Amazon.com + Mad Catz Tournamnet Edition Stick S (Black/PS3) @ Amazon.com + shipping to Canada?

Thank you in advance.

Quick question about paypal, if I send money via paypal and I have both bank account (chequing) and credit card linked to my account, how do I go about sending payment and avoiding fees? Thanks :)

mYV, If you send the money as a gift payment there won't be any fees, but if you're worried about it then can just send me an Amazon Gift Card (you can pay with just about any payment method they accept). If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'm going to send you an invoice. Thanks!

You would have to add funds to the balance from your bank account. Regardless, it will take about 2 weeks. The convenience of "now" will cost you

Yes, my secretary (RoganSarine) is correct. You do pay for the privilege of instant payments with credit cards in many case, but the Amazon Gift Option is a good way around it. If you want to send the payment you can but if it charges a fee, I could always refund it in that case. I'm almost done with the invoice though :) Sending now.

PM'd about the Amazon Gift Option!

Hey Goomba I have a question for you.

There are speakers I want to buy from Vanns.com. They are 300 US and free shipping. I "Think" the total weight is 27.5 pounds. Your shipping estimate on gfc puts it at about 61 shipping. That is way above my budget, is there any alternative options? I'm willing to wait months for them to ship if thats what it takes lol.

Yo Goomba. Sorry for the long payment delay. Finally got the internet hooked up in my new place, so I just sent you the payment for my requests. Have a good one! :)

Not a problem CrushEm, thanks for sending the payment. I'll have your package shipped out tomorrow when the post office re-opens ^_^ Thanks! Glad you got your Internet back!

** OLYMPICS QUESTION **

Hey there guys, I'm really wanting to watch the US Vs. Canada match today for Olympics Hockey Finals but don't get cable in my house. Do any of you guys know where I can watch it online? I found a website here: http://watchvancouverolympics.com/ but I don't know if it's reliable or if the quality will be any good. If you have any other ideas let me know :) I was considering an over-the-air HDTV antenna but I'm not sure if they get the NBC channels locally. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

not sure how it is in the states but anyone that sells tvs has the olympics in canada where ive been seen tons of people just sitting on coaches and watching the games in the middle of the stores...im not sure about online but I personally would head to a store open 24/7 for this game or a bar to guarantee good quality good luck with that.

^ how does that help him? Also LOL at seen tons of people just sitting on coaches, seriously? Poor coaches.

This is what you want, Goomba.

There's a slight chance they'll blackout non-Canadian viewers though. I know CBC does that when I'm in Rhode Island.
