WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

My brother tried trading in a copy of Wii Sports last week and the employee said the computer blocked the trade. Haven't traded since the cash promo and I was pretty careful not to hit the limit. I am guessing my account is suspended.

 
I reached out to some of the other employees and this what one said

"the tweet was for when you traded towards pre-owned accessories only. not a 50% bonus in general"

I don't think that was ever in question, the question is when will it go live?

Oh nevermind, I see the difference. The tweet was poorly worded then I guess?

The explanation doesn't make sense because the tweet said it was a 50% bonus for trading towards pre-owned products. It just hasn't gone live so they either jumped the gun or cancelled the promo.

 
 
Just a random aside.  My local GS, which remains in a mall that is near dead, had gone through through this weird span of hiring mostly girls who knew very little about games (from listening to them field other customers' questions) and were truly annoyed to have to work the register at all.  About a month ago, they brought back someone who had transferred out and have now hired at least 2 guys who actually know what they are talking about.  Despite my issues with GS in general, it was a really nice to feel something other than aggravated walking out of the store for the first time in about a year.

I did on 4/21 during the last 8%, after googling it a bit it seemed like the problem was paypal digital gifts was blocking me from purchasing from them (I think I purchased too much too frequently that day). I had to get physical cards instead (which I am still waiting on) a few days later everything was back to normal.

I was having payment issues last week, but found i had my network set to private which paypal does not like. I guess you have to have a public network in order to pay as they can identify your location. Just might be worth checking. I read that this was a change they made earlier this year.

 
Thanks for the suggestions guys but I think I have a bigger problem with Paypal. So as to not double post, just refer to the ebay promo thread for my findings.

Actually, it can be used on something under $5 as well, but you'll lose the balance of the coupon and it can't be stacked for multiple items like you said. I've used multiple coupons in the past for items under the coupon amount though ($9.99 game came out free using a $10 coupon, same for $4.99 game after a $5 coupon for example).

 
I got the ban hammer. $1,100 trades during 30 day period 3/19-4/19. I tried to trade in $300 today which would have made my 30 day total $800 from 3/28-4/28. Never went over 3 of same title per 30 day period. Never cash always credit. My first ban, probably a 90 day right?  

 
Is there a limit on how many returns you can do in a specific time period? I've returned my copy of Star Fox (changed my mind on it), Dark Souls 3 (only got it for the credit bonus), and The Division (same as DS3) within the last month or so, and was thinking about returning a used game I just bought since now it's on sale on Steam for cheaper.

The system is always changing but as of now there should still be no limit.

Just make a new account if you need to make a trade.

Pretty awesome, got 4 games from the Deal of the Day plus a price matched Megaman Legacy, came out with about $115 (Also traded copies of Dead Rising 3, Resident Evil Revelation 2, and Megaman Legacy I already had)

Good thing I only traded in one pair of MGSV yesterday. Nice.

Oh, they nuked the 360 value :(. The pair come out to the same TIV though.

During the last 50% coupon trades in weekend when Pikmin 3 was getting $70, I must have done more than that. I think GS is lowering their threshold.
