my vacuum handle didn't lock and hit my HDTV in the middle of the screen just a few minutes ago!!! YAY!!!!!!! Might not be able to play tonight :D YAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!
 
sorry i wasn't online til much later, something unexpected popped up that I needed to take care of. glad I could hammer out a chapter with you guy(s) in the end.

Job had me on call last night and tonight so I'm sorry I was unable to help last night. I know I'm off at 1am EST tonight. but Friday night is game night!
 
I can probably do a lot of the earlier chapters with 3 controllers in a pinch on casual w/mutators no problem...but i'll never get past the underwater submarine chapter solo w/3 controllers. haha...i guess my rockband guitar is going to get some use again.

thanks for the tip, I have access to another xbox. I just gotta borrow my lame ass friend's copy. apparently roadie running gives him motion sickness so he won't play anymore...i suppose i can achieve new levels of boosting as well once i set this up.
 
Yes, only 2-player split screen per console. I actually have all of Act 4 already done in 4-player from my first playthru, but I'm more than willing to help out. I do need to do it on insane anyway. I'm starting to think that the best way to play insane is with 2-3 people in arcade mode, not 4. You definitely want more than one person so that you can respawn, but sometimes it's actually helpful to have one or two AI players rather than human players. SOMETIMES being the key word, but sometimes they'll actually push forward, draw fire, etc, and make things easier on the humans. Other times, they are useless, of course. 100xp - thanks for the help last night, that outdoor section of Act 5 Chapter 1 was really annoying, I didn't want to give up because I'd already gotten past the first couple checkpoints, but I was getting tired of reloading. We finished chapter 1, then did all of chapter 2, then I did chapter 3 by myself. Still need chapters 4 and 5 in insane in Act 5, plus all of Act 4. For 4-player, I still need scattered chapters in acts 2 and 3, plus all of Act 5.

while I didn't like the game mechanic of gears after playing so much TF2, Halo, and MW2...i got over it and now i appreciate it. still not sure how some ppl seem invulnerable to gnasher fire when I'm pulling the trigger. friggin lag.

yeah I realized I actually need a lot more 4 co-op, I'm almost done w/insane level...but i'm always down to help. gotta get those ribbons and medals anyway.
 
gnasher is inconsistent. I was killing my teammates in a private match, getting the last few "last man out" ribbons, and half of the time one to two shots would kill them. Other times i would shoot them 4-5 times the same way as they run away. So i dont know whats going on. Gnasher just seems to only work when aiming, if you hip fire its a crap shoot if it will actually hit, even if you see blood and aim right at them.
 
i hate the sawed off. I was getting the last few first blood ribbons to get that medal to gold in a private match against bots. More than a few times i ran up to the bot, shot my sawed off right on him and it did nothing. Its like it shot a blank because i didnt even see dust fly or anything, but i was sitting there reloading. I mean what is this shit? Seriously!
 
I'm having the exact same issue. Sometimes I'll get a kill with it that shouldn't have even have lined up with a bot.

It's like I have lag in a private match, that I'm hosting...with bots...

Oddly it's consistently working in Wingman matches, but any other game mode it's off with the bots.
 
the most matches I've played have been wingman right now. I have it at gold. I've been playing Prv. just to boost some weapons ribbons and matches winning as fast as I can. Idle boosting wingman is a pain so I fig I should play it some. I left my system on a couple of times for about 6 hours and only got about 40-60 matches done max each time. I'm talking insane bots with boomshots for all WPickups and 2 min time limit. I'm starting to like wingman
 
You know i was going to ask if anyone wanted to wingman boost with me. I figured if 2 humans vs casual bots would make it go really quick, if each human player goes in a different direction. I can do alright by myself, getting the game done in 2 rounds usually, but it would just go faster with 2 people.

I usually listen to music while i boost stuff, so i dont get bored as hell. I need about 75 more mvp ribbons to onyx that medal. The problem is i hate waiting in between matches. Its like 45 seconds long after the match ends, you see your ribbons, then wait for the timer to count down. Then load up the next match. I wish it was faster for private, because its not like i cant pause the game. Where online you may need 45-60 seconds to use the bathroom and you cant stop the game by hitting pause.

speak the truth! the time between matches is no joke! yep 2 rounds is what it takes. I remember I left all the pick up weapons as boomshots and the bots on insane that was not a good set of match, I got jumped! and my wingman bot was a punk ass!
 
Only 320,000 more dollars in horde till i onyx the big money medal. I got about 150,000 cash playing insane horde with instagib, unlimited ammo, and super active on. I play on blood drive. I play 10 waves or so, buy the silverback and take it in the spawn area. Build the turret and electric fence and just shoot missiles at enemies the second the show up in front of the doorway. Got to wave 29, after that i gave up because i kept getting killed by the damn serapede.

Haha, is that a complaint? I would rather not see that map. Every 10 seconds is enemy forces and you get slaughtered in the back. But i know what you mean, you rarely see new maps unless its in one of the "must have fenix rising maps" playlists.
 
this is nice...im in someone's arcade campaign where they're boosting act 2 chapter 2 i think. over and over and over again...i wonder how long this guy will do this. i just hit lvl 60 earlier so...i'll let you know how many times he's boosting for me. :D

- hahaha....just went from Silver to Gold for Survivalist. I had just got silver before I jumped in this game too. (12:21 am EST)

- 109 On Your Feet, Soldier ribbons and about 50,000 xp. thanks chapter booster! (12:48 am EST)

I can only imagine how many times he was doing that before I jumped in. I'm 61 now. (snickers)

Down to about 80,000 cash for big money medal. Woooo cant wait to get that over with. LOL.

I was playing insane horde on blood drive again with the silverback set up in spawn. Anyway, sometimes during a wave nothing would come, so i had to search and kept finding polyps or tickers in a corner, like they didnt want to move from that corner. It kept happening too, it was soo annoying

EDIT: Onyx Big Money medal finished. Now i have all onyx medals for campaign, beast, and horde. Phew.

i sent you an invite because i was doing the queen w/3 ppl...luckily someone did finally jump in at the last second. now I just have the friggin prologue and act 2, chapter 1 to finish 4-player coop. :roll:

4-player coop done and done. I ironically the achievement unlocked after finishing prologue even with Act 2/chapter 1 left to complete. Game must think it's just doing a set number of chapters and doesn't matter if you have one left or not. cheers.

Same thing happened to me. Looks like I never did the queen fight on 4-player, yet, the achievement popped for me when I finished my second-to-last chapter. So did the friendly fire mutator. So, no complaints!
 
anyone know what else the TU did fix'wise? can granted I'll know if i can still spot a dropped wpn in horde when I get back home for an hour while watching youtube videos.
 
All i read on twitter was that it helped people get into dedicated server matches better. Not sure if it did anything else. Hopefully they didnt fix the spotting trick.

im doing it right now and it seems fine, so far.... i dont think they would change the xp value of the ribbon? Who knows. But it seems to be working fine. Im not even sure if its popular yet. I havent seen it mentioned over at epic forums, though maybe they delete topics about it over there.

i hope it's know blown out of the water, i'd like to milk it for a few dozen more levels...i made the mistake of playing it on insane the 1st time and forgetting to give my guest account funds for the buy in. haha.

actually you have to give yourself money to buy back in, the guest account is the one that sits there picking up weapons while your main account spots them. :) I always worry that i might die during wave 1 and it wont count. Im not really sure what would happen if i failed the wave, but then restarted and did it again, if the ribbons would still count.
 
yeah, i still finished the wave and go the ribbons just obviously couldnt buy back in. I figured out what went wrong quickly. I also recommend changing the controls to legacy so you can click the right thumbstick if you're more comfortable doing that over the left one. helps me not move the ghost cam when I'm not paying attention during the session.
 
yup still works. Damn i just wish i didnt have to sit here pushing in the LS, LOL.

Anyone know how long, and how much xp you get for the medal for pressing X at object like the cole cardboard cutout? Im thinking of getting SF x tekken and ill buy a fightpad for it if i do. But not sure if that is a slow way to rank up.
 
i was hoping i could rig something that would repeatedly press the thumbstick but I couldn't find anything, no lego storm either...not worth investing in that just to get exp in a game that will be an after thought when the next game comes out.

i'll try and do it once a day, watching SC2 matches on youtube help pass the time or reading pdfs.

as for the medals, thought every onyx was worth the same amount no? just some are repeatable and others are not.(anymore)
 
I need 16 more events to onyx that a 2nd time.

Not sure if anyone here collects the gears of war figures. But series 2 of GOW3 figures are coming out soon, with Baird, Cole, and Dom. But i just saw this photo that shows series 3. A little bit of a letdown IMO. I think Savage Theron is cool but 2? Also ANOTHER Marcus? As if another marcus wasnt enough, it is the one i should have had already but got the TRU two pack in its place. Oh and another Cog Soldier? Seriously its like they dont want to make any special people. Just keep making the same guys over and over, give them different heads, weapons, and paint jobs and call it a day.

Since they have an Anya i was hoping to see a Sam in series 3. We will never see Dizzy, Barrick, Tai, or anyone that would need a special body made, because they only make copies of older models it seems. I was even hoping to see a new Boomer like the butcher, or even digger. Personally i dont really like buying the same characters i already bought. Ill probably but all of series 2 just because they are different. but i dont know if i want journeys end marcus, or another COG soldier. Unless its actually the onyx guard.
 
I used to work in jewelry design and when we sent over designs to be manufactured in China, the cost to make a unqiue mold wasn't very cost effective...so if they can keep costs down they're going to do it. I was even told to use cheaper materials and simpler shapes to cut down on costs.

Perfect example...Heman action figures (1st gen).

I'm not big on action figures anymore, esp if they look like crap but an onyx guard would be pretty cool. All epic needs to do is include codes to unlock gun skins and avatar items, themes, as filler for the gun skins that ppl really want in the toys and they'd sell every action figure.

"cole train beta skin and flaming wpns when you buy and register 3 gears of war 3 action figures." yeah...TRU would make a killing.

that said...I'll take a mini r/c heli JACK please.
 
With valentines day coming up you would think epic would make a gears weekend with couples... aka wingman. but im guessing if they do something with a valentines day theme it will be brothers to the end TDM. Which is disappointing because 1. i dont like BTTE, and 2. Im sick of TDM. Thats all anyone plays really is TDM.
 
i think TDM is just universally accepted as the match type that requires little to no effort...just kill the other team. all the objective matches are avoided like the plague because godfid someone had to use teamwork to accomplish a goal outside of...shoot other team dead.

i havent even tried the BTTE yet.
