Just seems greedy to charge people almost the cost of the game for cosmetics that don't affect the game. I am not buying them but it would seem like a more equitable price would be $10-15. I don't remember but how much was the mortal combat pass with all the skins... Not $45.

Edited to add that is in addition to the gears pass as well. If it was included with gears pass or at least at a sharp discount it might be more reasonable.
 
I think all the DLC is going to end up expensive this time around as Epic does seem to really be nickel and diming everything. The Season Pass also seems questionable since it is 4 items (1 DLC item every 3 months) and since it says it's a 33% discount I can see it including 2 1200 point DLC items (like the campaign stuff it mentions) and two 400 point items (like the player skins). I can see one of the first items in the Season Pass being Flashback Flashback maps.

Also, anyone wanna trade their Mechanical Baird or Savage Kantus skin for the Commando Dom one? I can't stand Dom and honestly think he is as ugly as the locust.

I'm honestly really excited to play the game tonight. I might buy one or two of the skins but that's about it. The animated ones aren't that appealing to me. :( I was going to buy the season pass but am waiting till they show everything that will be with the first DLC.

Monday at least that's the way it is for me. When I pre-ordered MVC3 it shipped extremely late Monday night I thought I wouldn't get it on release day, but I did.

I'll have Gears 3 tomorrow between 4pm and 7pm since it comes by UPS. I wish they delivered earlier. I can't fucking wait. I'm to excited. I know I'll play it a lot. Far as console games go I played Gears 2 more than other game.

So, is there any day one DLC that's covered in the Season Pass? Any reason to buy it right away other than the Liquid Green weapon skin?

None what so ever so I wouldn't recommend buying it early at this point. The November DLC is the only official report we've had of what is included. The regular Liquid Metal (or black... as IGN called it... ugh) version is in the Season Pass though.

As the tail end of the video points out the skins are actually much brighter. The Green version is supposedly only available via a yet to be announced contest.

Joel: We'll see man. I'm fully expecting another nickle and diming stunt either way which sucks because I doubt I'll have the resolve to miss out on Bernie and hopefully Alex in the future. The way they've been battling lately though... I wouldn't be surprised if I boycott the character skins next.

Thanks. The first map pack really isn't coming until November? I figured they'd have something out sooner than that, especially since all of the launch DLC is just cosmetic stuff.
 
Yeah it's pretty disappointing because those 10 maps are going to get old real quick. The game play honestly is that fast and if other game types have rounds subtracted we're all going to spend more time in lobbies than actually playing the game. There have been reports of only two maps bundled in the DLC along with Bernie and Onyx Guard. Since they were both G1 maps I didn't particularly care for I'm hoping the price tag for buying Bernie separate isn't terribly steep. Well assuming the rumors held weight of course.
 
People who are worried about Amazon's RDD, I'm 5/5 on getting it the day of, and most orders weren't "shipped" according to the website until late the night before. Currently, my order is "shipping soon," and I'm not too worried about it.

My copy on Amazon still says not shipped, they usually have always shipped games late Monday and I always get them Tuesday, where it sucks is UPS, they literally deliver at any random hour of the day between 8 AM and 8 PM, I hate them.


EDIT: Yeah I just downloaded the Haze set, awesome, thanks for the heads up, in the marketplace it actually shows 320 MSP but when you select it, it shows free, looks like an error/glitch but I got it. It wouldn't let me download from the website and kept asking for MSP when it showed the cost of free, but it let me on my 360.
 
Great eye Trakan. At first I had assumed this was their way of throwing us a bone knocking off one from the original 22, but upon closer inspection it seems like a run of the mill genuine unintentional Microsoft screw up. I'm seriously thinking of mass messaging my FL. It's almost worth the risk of a fanboy reporting me to the XBLPD. I can't wait to see the thread on the official forums about this, haha.
 
You all probably already knew this but I just noticed the the shotgun weapon skins bundle is for both shotguns and it's 1200 MSP, not really justifying the cost but if any of those would be "worth it" I would think it'd be that bundle.

Let's just hope M$ doesn't decide to ban us for this screw up because it's says "FREE" in all caps on the Marketplace website right now. I'm going to be extremely ticked if I get suspended later for their bad.
 
LOL. The topic on their official forums got deleted fast. Thankfully one of the posters asked a M$ rep if it was cool to download and she basically replied: "We are currently investigating the situation. If it's showing up free then that's the price, but I suspect it will change/increase over time so you'd better download it now while you can."

I love it. If we don't get in trouble for this Haze is the only skin I will be using for a long time.
 
Downloaded Haze Skin for free.

I noticed the Complete Lancer Skin set was 1120, whereas all the others were 1200. Maybe it's because the Haze Skin price was taken off, I don't know.

Nothing is. They're just images.

The Gears 2 DLC all came down in price by at least half. The Gears 1 DLC eventually became free for everyone. I have little doubt they'll stay at those high prices forever, Season Pass included. I probably won't buy the Season Pass until I see a good portion of what is in it is going to be.
 
I am curious to see how many people playing online have paid skins. It's a bit like an "I'm with stupid" sign, with arrow pointing up. If the game had cost 99 cents it wouldn't be a big deal, but it's $60. Of course if I like it enough I might end up with one of those signs. ;) :)

Yeah I posted in the Gears 3 Preorder thread that Trak found this in hopes of sharing the wealth, Bloomy posts right after me and apparently now Bloomy found it lol, tried to give Trak credit but people read what they want to read I guess.
