Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - 8/21 Dragonforce Track Pack

Just played the OXM demo for about 30 minutes. Solid game. Just as good as GH2 if not better. I like how it keeps track of the note streak you have. Can't wait for the full version next Sunday.

Someone over at Demonoid mention that "Miss Murder", "Barracuda" and "Cult of Personality" were on the demo somewhere.

Any truth to this?

Also I don't know if you are allowed to link those here creeeaature, so I would take those down.

Found the demo download earlier. Works like a charm. The new interface is odd looking. The hit range for normal strumming seems to be the same as always, the hit range for hammer ons and pull offs is enormous now. And I still hate Tenacious D. A lot.

I read about that on another site and was trying to grab it from a super-slow torrent. Glad you posted it here too, my download is almost done. I'm psyched.

thanks for the demonoid link... would never even have thought that a burnt copy would work without a modded xbox. You're awesome and so is this demo! gh3 can't get here soon enough.

I'm playing the demo on the regular controller and it plays like Amplitude/Frequency did on PS2. I really like how they put the artists and year on the songs now. I might have to bite now since it looks like Rock Band might not fit into my 4th quarter budget.

So am I, I don't have a Guitar.

I'm not one involved in this, but there's talk of using the same method to get custom songs in GH2 (which needs modding) into this demo (which probably wouldn't). There's a Scorehero thread, and talk in other places. Just thought I'd mention it.
Does the disc say "mixed media Disc" or Unreadable
It says "Mixed media disc"
It didn't work, What am I missing here? I burned it onto a CDR, Put it into my 360, Went into the demo tab and nothing showed up.
Try using imgburn. That worked perfectly for me.

The tracklist doesn't really matter, though, as the only thing anyone will care about is the fact that it unlocks songs.
You might want to take a second look at the soundtrack list there:

The three expansion tracks are "Carcinogen Crush" from AFI (from an EP due in December), "Tina" from Flyleaf and a remix of Marilyn Manson's "Putting Holes In Happiness" by Nick Zinner from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The latter two recordings also are heard on the soundtrack CD, along with AFI's "Miss Murder," Sonic Youth's "Kool Thing," Queens Of The Stone Age's "3's And 7's," Smashing Pumpkins' "Cherub Rock," Velvet Revolver's "Slither," Living Colour's "Cult Of Personality," Rise Against's "Prayer Of The Refugee," the Guitar Hero rendition of "Devil Went Down To Georgia" by Steve Ouimette and the game's intro by Slash, who is also a character in the game.

I don't believe I've seen any other confirmation of either of the songs I bolded outside of the tracklist for the soundtrack.

Prayer of the Refugee is a bonus track.
Prayer of the Refugee is a bonus track.
Guess I missed that one.

Still, I think this is the first possible confirmation of Slither being in the game. I think there's a good possibility that it's just going to be DLC as part of a Velvet Revolver song pack too. If the interview with the band I posted in this thread awhile ago is accurate then She Builds Quick Machines and Let it Roll were licensed for the game as well.

I'm loving every mintue of the demo. Just the same Guitar Hero I love. Po/Ho's are easier to play off and this ease of use makes playing a lot more fun, but the game is still quite hard. I got kicked by The Metal multiple times, but pulling off those slick solos are quite satisfying. I love playing for Achievements and scoreboards.
I like "Lay Down" by Priestess, even though I have no idea who they are.
They have a track on NHL 07, too. Their most recent cd is great.

The demo is awesome. I've never been THAT good at Guitar Hero - I play on medium and enjoy it, and anything higher is just not fun to me. But all of the songs in the demo were a blast to play.

I was also happy to see that they've added co-op mode into the main game, so apparently you & a friend can go through a career together.

played the demo and thought it was great... great enough that it actually got me to decide to buy this [ i really want that wireless guitar to replace my crappy xplorer for rock band's release ]

H.O.s and P.O.s do seem way easier, i was nailing nearly every note.

i like that the characters look more realistic, but i don't like how some of them are a little over the top [ like the singer's huge chin ].

so is the best deal for this game to purchase it straight from redoctane's website? anywhere else have it cheaper? [ although having a gig bag would be kinda nice ]
Sorry guys, no talks of torrents/mods/downloading copies...etc.
I don't mean to start an argument but,

What is wrong with torrents? They're a perfectly legal way of distributing things.

There is no modding whatsoever involved.

What is wrong with downloading a demo? It is free. Have you never downloaded a demo for your PC?

Its not my rule dude...it can potentially be a liability to CAG and therefore CheapyD...just following the rules.

I could not agree more. I traded in my X-plorer towards a GH3 preorder earlier this week for exactly those reasons.

As far as deals, there are a couple on the first page of deals right now; if you like the freebies, the website may be a good call. Otherwise, the 10% off GS coupon will still be active until 11/1.

Me and my friend got the demo yesterday, and the new battle mode is pretty sweeet.
Sometimes you won't get past the first couple seconds of the song without the person you playing against giving you a lefty flip or double notes.
I got both once, and still managed to survive, but lost after I got Lefty Flip again. :/
I can't wait for this game. Was going to get the game only, but since Rock Band won't have a Guitar/Game bundle at launch, I'll just get this Guitar. Which looks really sweeet.

Use the 10% off coupon at GS and get it for around $90 before tax.

Final Song revealed:
The final tune in Guitar Hero III is The Devil Went Down to Georgia, originally performed by the Charlie Daniels Band, and you can now listen to the game version of the lively fiddlin' ditty online.

The GHIII version of the country song was composed and produced by Steve Ouimette, a 16-year veteran of the music and video game industry. Ouimette recorded The Devil Went Down to Georgia on guitar, and the track features a more metal-inspired lyrical style than the original country classic.

You can listen to the track here: Devil Went Down to Georgia, Guitar Hero III version
God that is awful. The original may have been bordering on country but at least it is a solid classic. This one is well, :puke:
I don't know, The intro sounds so... Awesome and funny. Perhaps this is the new TROGDORRRR!!!! ?

Edit: Hold it, This can't be real. I was listening to it and near the end the singer says "Son of a bitch"
Son of a bitch is in the original version as well.
That isn't my point, My point is would they allow that in GH3?
That isn't my point, My point is would they allow that in GH3?
It is a PG/PG13 term and the game is rated T for Teen, so I don't see why not.
