I have a question about the LA Noire promotion. If you have the $15 and $45 coupons from the recent promotion, what is to stop the $15 coupon from deducting off of the "free game" and then just deducting $5 to make it free. It would waste the coupon essentially.
If you are only purchasing LA Noire, you wouldn't use both coupons anyway, as it is 59.99, and the total of the coupons is 60 flat.

If you are purchasing more than that, you could always do separate transactions if it makes you feel better.

Question, the $15+$45 coupon from MK deal cannot be used when the pre-tax amount is less than the coupon face value. LA Noire is $59.99, meaning I won't be able to apply the entire $60 coupon towards it?

Correct. Coupons cannot exceed the pre-tax value of the items. So either find something cheap to add on as well or only use the $45 coupon.
Omg Kmart why do you do this? What's the cheapest filler I could find in gaming section?
check the first page for clearance games.

Everyone does this with coupons. Only gift cards and, in K-Mart's case, SYWR points (dollars) are excluded from this rule.
LMAO. The, only, reason I knew who you were talking about is because I wasn't logged in. Thank goodness for IGGY! I'm thinking that ZZ character is some kind of drunk or addict with the way it rambles on. The Fuji one is either EXTREMELY MISERABLE or audtitioning to be a comedian with the way it goes from post to post posting rude/sarcastic nothingness.

Eh, LMFAO ;)
...... That's just rude and unnecessary.. I'm not going to be rude though I guess you haven't learned any manners.

can't wait for finals to be done and play a ton of la noire next week. Tales of Vesperia is $20? I'm shocked that's still in some stores..

Quick question Josh.

Any chance Brink is going to see a price drop like Portal 2 did after a couple weeks of release?

Tryn to talk a couple friends into buying the game but they don't like the idea of shelling out $60 for a game that's been getting some really bad reviews.

If I remember correctly Josh said not likely.

I was hoping Bethesda reconsidered since PSN is down and the reviews have been really low.

I'm sure their sales #'s are way below what was projected.

I went in to kmart today, scouting out which 19.99 game I was going to pick up with la noire and I see a modern warfare 2 prestige edition for xbox 360 sitting on the shelf marked 19.99. So I snatched it and went to pay for it and it rings up 149.99 and they tell me they can't sell it to me for what it's marked. I thought they had to sell it to me for it was marked? I'm in Michigan btw. They tried telling me they could take 10% off. I have no idea where the game came from, I'm there every week and it just showed up.

quick question josh.. for next weeks deal regarding L.A. Noire,

can we get a point card for 19.99 rather than a free game??

not sure if the question has been asked, but it would be nice considering there are a few bits of DLC i WILL want for L.A. Noire

Nah they dont' have to sell it to you for the stickered price. If they do that's their own decision.

Michigan laws have to do with grocery stores and stickered prices not matching what comes up at the register. You get a maximum of $5 back for the discrepancy.

Ok thanks for the response, I almost shit when I saw it was marked 19.99.

I am in michigan too and when i worked at meijers, and a general merchandise item, meaning video games, stuff like that was way under priced, the manager at the store i worked at would sell it to you at what it cost the store to buy it.

I wonder what it cost them? They probably don't make a lot off it.

With LA Noire coming out and the fact that it was bashed in the media as well as it being $49.99 over at Amazon I say yup it will drop quick

Looking for a suggestion on what game to pick up with LA Noire as I have most of the games I'd want from the clearance list already. I only own a PS3. And here are the games I already own:

GH:WT
GH:SH
GH:M
DJ Hero
Buzz! TV
3D Dot Game Heroes
LBP
Alpha Protocol
R&C: A Crack in Time
Scene it!
Demon's Souls
RB: Green Day
Brutal Legend
Bioshock
Rock Band 2
Lego Rock Band
Borderlands
Mirror's Edge

I'm not a big sports fan. I'd pick up Fallout3 if it was the GOTY edition with all the DLC but it's not. Any suggestions? At this point, it's either X-men Origins Wolverine or Best Buy for a deal that just works out better for me.

If you dont want a game, just get Resonance of Fate, then flip it at Amazon for $16.25.
If i pick 2 game that is 19.99 and other is like 9.99, which one would be free?
To be on the safe side, just wait and ring the $9.99 game by itself after you ring L.A. Noire and whatever $19.99 game you get together.

And no, points cards aren't eligible to whoever asked. The whole point of this promo is to try and clear out older titles.

This thread could seriously use some moderation. Some of these questions have nothing at all to do with Kmart. We also have a pretty serious literacy problem.

lol perfect grammar on the internet. if people asking what games they should get is such a big deal for you then you have problems..

In a situation like this, if it wasn't an employee price gun error, it was probably another customer jacking with the price stickers. In either case, the store doesn't have to honor the mistake, plus if another customer did it, there's no way the store would penalize itself and honor the bogus price. Hell, if they did, I might have to buy my own price gun, and create the video game Sale of the Century......

I agree with The_ZZ. This thread is much more community based. With all the participation of Josh people feel much more free to openly discuss video games in general as long as it relates to thing being sold at Kmart. I do not think Josh nor most of the people following Kmart seem to really mind the extra questions. The OP and subsequent posts are very well done so there should not be an issue with information. Anyway, I like the community interaction in this thread. Many of us have been here close to the beginning of Kmart's rise and really only get annoyed at people who keep asking questions that are obviously in the OP. Off topic questions related to these deal are just fine by me.

Totally agree! The community interaction is great in this thread. I think the 'literacy issue' cheesebu was referring to wasn't grammar... it's what you mentioned that there are a large number of questions asked that are already answered in the OP, or by posters/Josh already.

I think its a little more complicated than buying a generic price gun from Sams and tagging items.

The sticker usually has a name for the item and apropriote barcode.

Starting in September here in michigan, no longer have to have price tags on items anymore. Only need to have a picture of the item and price tag in front of it on the shelf

I don't know if this somehow related, but based on the price tag and how rings up the MSRP, it reminds of when I did a return-rebuy on Dynasty Warriors: Gundam. The receipt showed the actual price, but when it rang up, it was MSRP. One thing I should add is, the game did come from another store, as I was trying to mix and match my purchases from two stores for the 60/120 promo.

Good post.

Quick questions ~
I shouldn't have a problem getting the free game with la noire correct?

Can someone explain the coupon to me. Is it on the receipt or do I need to sign up?

Thanks

I'm not talking about people discussing games. I think its disrespectful when people are asking how they can pricematch Kmarts deals or why Amazon is so much better, among other things. A lot of the OT stuff seems like it could safely be in another thread outside of the gaming deals forum. It sucks to wade through it all for info....which is why we have people constantly asking for clarification.

You need to be a member of the Shop Your Way Rewards, which takes 5 minutes or less to do in store and you will get your card there. Its free to join and you earn points back on all your purchases

THe coupon will be a reciept that prints out right after your merchandise reciept. Hope this helps you out.

I think he was more asking for what games will be on sale, not just the new game that is coming out.

I think that price stickers don't have to be honored . But some stores do it if it's a small enough discrepancy.

I feel bad for you cause you probably got so excited. But I dont think they HAVE to honor it.
Why do people always forget to read the OP?!?
Hey, just simmer down. I know the LA Noire deal. Do you know what else could be on sale?
If I call my local kmart, will they be able to find out if a certain 19.99 game is still in stock?
Depends how well staffed your store is. Getting anyone on the phone much less anyone who can answer or is willing to look through the case for something old like that and not just say 'no we dont' have it" because they don't work in that department could prove difficult.

Same as calling a wal-mart or target expecting them to dig through the cases to find a $20 game from 3 years ago.
