Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!
Looks like the Dolphins are losing big to the Bengals. If that score holds, with a win I can grab hold of one of the wild card slots (yes, I'm already thinking WC, haha)
Still half a season to go haha.

Since we're at the half way point, I'll work on the current playoff picture, MVP candidates up to now, and whatever else I can come up with. Should have some free time this weekend.

Even if I manage to beat you, where are you planning to find those other two losses (that's if I win out, a huge if)? I'm just being realistic. :D
GG Ivan Hood. I Officially Suck. Good Game Nonetheless. The final Score should BE:

61 to 17.... But Ivan didn't decide to take 2 touchdowns he had given to him by me.

Week 8: Dolphins @ Bengals
Dolphins:17
Bengals: 41

Miami's Defense: 1 Fumble. And like 99 Broken Tackles (I'm looking at you, Secondary.)
Miami's Offense: 214 Yards Passing, 2 TD, 2 Interceptions / 82 Yards Rushing, 0 TD

Bengals Defense: 2 Interceptions, 1 Sack, 1 TD (had the chance for 3 Defensive TD's)
Bengals Offense: 374 Yards Passing, 3 TD / 165 Rushing Yards, 1 TD

Good Game Mr. Ivan Hood. Madden had me throwing my controller at Halftime.... ~7 Seconds left in the 1st Half...tied 10-10, ivan bombs one out to his TE for a 4 Missed tackles Touchdown.... Then With 4 Seconds to go in the Half my Kick Returner fumbles the Ball which the Bengals Return for a TD.
i'm attaching a strange picture...Madden reports the game as 41-17....but my screen shows 47-17...

I can't believe those rushing yards. Almost all of them came from two plays at the very end, and I don't even have Cedric Benson. Silly Madden.

Still have to tango with two other division leaders, the Colts, and the Dolphins. And of course our rematch. Back half of my schedule is pretty tough. I just hope I can make the playoffs with a healthy team
Jets def. Packers in Jersey, 24-7.

Grant ripped off a 77 yard run on the 2nd play of the game to score on the opening drive. The Jets clamped down after that though, allowing less than 200 total yards for the rest of the game and kept the Packers out of the endzone. Nothing too fancy about this one. Greene rushed for 117 yards with 2 TDs, Edwards was the leading receiver with 80 yards and the other TD in the game, and Bart Scott picked off Rodgers in the 2nd half.

That was pretty big, as the game was close throughout and I'm pretty sure it was between scores. I think after the INT that score made it 17-7. Another key moment was when it was tied or 10-7 and Jennings dropped what looked like an easy 1st down catch on 3rd and longish. He was covered but it was catchable.

gg, Matt.
Yeah, that interception really hurt me, but I went 3 and out like 4 times, so that sucked. Maybe I should have gone with a punter in free agency. Good game, though; it was fun.

theredworm and I are having the same issue again, and it happens the exact same way every time. I score, kickoff, and it freezes on the cutscene after the return. I've never seen this happen before.

Strange, guys. I'm not sure what to tell you. I remember there was a similar problem last Madden after a patch. Is there any way you can download it again? I searched the Madden 11 forums to see if anyone else had a similar complaint and I couldn't find anything.

We're gonna try it again tomorrow, so it'll hopefully work out then. If not, I guess it'll have to be simmed. I'd hate to pick up a win or loss that way, though. I've actually been playing well these past few weeks, too.

What little play we have got in tonight has been fun and competitive, so I'd love to actually get in a full game.

Awesome. Thanks!

I'll probably start the power rankings soon and wrap them up a couple days into Week 9, hopefully.

No problemo. I'll post mine sometime this weekend.

What's left for today...

Vikings vs Pats (retrying tonight)
Bills vs Chiefs (this get rescheduled?)
Titans vs Chargers (8pm EST tonight)
Jaguars vs Cowboys (tonight between 7-9pm est, I hope)
What time is the predicted advance tonight?

Will you be on Colts?
I won't be home from work until 12:30am Central Time tonight and Friday.

Well it looks like I will be starting to work 8 pm - 4 am Eastern time soon, so that may make it difficult for me to schedule games. I don't know what days I will have off yet. But I will keep everyone posted.
scout for free all weekend thanks to papa johns

Nice. I've never used on before, but I may as well try them now.

I forgot to note that Shonn Greene was in beats mode for the Jets. Also, after losing Jermichael Finley for 8 (now 6) weeks, and my backup TE Donal Lee for a couple, I just got Atarui Bigby back... then lost Charles Woodson for 3 games. That's a huge blow, obviously. At least one of them is my bye week, but ti's sandwiched between tough games with Dallas and Minnesota.

At least, unlike season 3 of Madden 10, I'm enjoying myself while losing. It's just clear that I need some practice, having only played a handful of games outside the online franchise. But with NHL 11 out and Halo: Reach coming out, who knows when I'll find practice time, heh.

Dallas Cowboys owner: I can play Saturday or Sunday in the late afternoon through the evening Pacific time. Not sure how late on Saturday, but Sunday, I should have all night.
dolphins owner, if we advance tonight, I'll be available tonight no sooner than 11:30 pm est
can't play tonight. i've got to get my defensive problems fixed..... and tonight's job is to fix my horrid secondary. tomorrow night has a chance of success....:) if not, i'm available 90% of the day saturday.

Sorry deuce, 1 or 2 more days will NOT hurt your new look defense:D They're going to own me, i'm sure:d

I'd be up for a scrim or two tonight after my game to help you with that. ;)

Edit: Well, after the Vikings-Saints game anyway.

Colts' availability this weekend:

Tonight: Not available (working late)
Friday: Available until 3pm CST (working late again)
Saturday: Available from 5:00pm to 9:30 pm

Bills over Chiefs 19-14

It was all my game early but the D nearly gave it up at the end. Edwards was PATHETIC all game. Evans was wide open most of the day, Edwards simply missed him. All. Game. Edwards went down with an injury early in the 4th after getting nailed. Fitzpatrick came in and immediately threw a 91 yd TD to Evans. Mr. Edwards--meet the bench. Fitzpatrick named the starter for week 9.

Good game overall--great battle of the "losers", per say.

I actually have a stretch of "winnable" games coming up--the 3-4 Bears, the 2-4 Lions, and the 2-4 Bengals. Could we see a 4-5 Bills team?

...no, probably not. But it's nice to dream.

Mind you, the Bengals just ROFFLEstomped the 4-2 Dolphins....47-17...

Just got home from softball. My company team (of which I'm the captain and star player, naturally) secured a playoff spot for the first time in team history (we're nerds). I'm all sweaty so I'm gonna shower quickly and then venom and I can start.

edit: Ready to go now but no response from venom again.. I'm worried it might not be him again. Grr, I was hoping to get this in so I could go out for the game.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Shh.

Let me have my moment.
ROFFLEstomped
Word of the day. :D

ub - I need to know what to do about my game. I absolutely cannot play tomorrow, so at this point it's just me waiting around for venom (who might not even show up) while missing the ability to go out and watch this game. :bomb:

This = some bullshit. Can we just temp boot him already so I can have a prayer of getting this game in and going and seeing the second half of the Saints-Vikings game?

You have my permission bvharris...I consider myself co-commissioner of this league.

Edit: Without the ability to temp-boot players, so I guess I am worthless to you.

Chargers 42, Titans 14 (CPU)

Pretty straightforward win for the Chargers who didn't try to do anything too fancy. Rivers was just about perfect until a late pick, but still managed to complete 18 of 23 for 289 yards and 2 scores. It was the Gates and Jackson show as usual, with each topping 100 yards once again. Gates and Naanee scored the TDs from Rivers. In his first game as a starter following Sproles being traded, rookier RB Ryan Mathews was yeomanlike, rushing 13 times for 55 yards and 2 scores, one a beautiful 23 yard scamper. Meanwhile, Santana Moss did not exactly cover himself in glory in his Chargers debut, catching 2 for 8 yards, coughing up a fumble on an end around, and averaging a measly 6 yards per punt return.

For the Titans, Johnson was Johnson, rushing for 124 and a score, though most of that came on an 80 yard run on the first play of the 2nd half. Collins threw two picks, both of which were brought to the house by the Chargers (Cason, Stuckey).

The Chargers move to 5-3 ahead of a vital AFC matchup with the Texans.

-----

Venom, I'm sorry it had to go down like this, but I'm also not. You had ample opportunity with me contacting you, and you finally got in touch today but completely failed to show for the time we set. I hope everything's alright first and foremost, and that there are no hard feelings. I couldn't play tomorrow, so this was really the only choice we had - I don't like playing the CPU. No one on your team was injured, though I lost Ogemdi Nwagbuo for the season.

...On a related note, I'm now in even more desperate need of a DT. ubernes, what's the policy on picking players up from the free agent wire when I lose someone for the year?

Okay. I just missed you by about 15 minutes this afternoon. I've turned on my system every half hour or so during commercials since then, but you haven't been on. I hope everything will work right tonight.

Looking ahead at the schedule, we've got a fantastic set of Week 9 games. In the NFC:

Saints (6-2) v. Panthers (5-2) with control of the NFC South at stake.
Giants (8-0) v. Seahawks (5-2) in a second straight game for the Seahawks against an undefeated opponent

We also have two key AFC battles between teams with playoff aspirations:
Dolphins (4-3) v. Ravens (4-3)
Chargers (5-3) v. Texans (5-2)

Should be interesting.

this is stupid

every time it goes to the sideline cut scenes after he kicks it to me the game dcs us from the servers

we went into a multiplayer lobby and both of us are showing full bars so our connection is fine, just something is stopping this game from happening

we both figure this game needs to be simmed cause we can't fix what seems to be EA's prob

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. Like I said in my message, I've never seen or heard of anything like this. It cuts us off at the same exact point every game. It sucks.

Do you guys have the game installed? I know someone that had a similar problem last year during the "bring out the measuring sticks" cut scene, that went away after he installed the game to his HD.

I haven't heard from the Jags or Cowboys either, so maybe I'll be simming both games tonight? I don't feel like we're in a huge rush, but I don't want to wait and then tomorrow at 9, 10 pm we're sitting at the same situation.

I'll be up for the next hour or 2, so if one of these teams mentioned has a suggestion, or anyone else for that matter, please feel free to let me know.

I just played a ranked game online where my MLB (Beason) got injured in the 3rd quarter (out for the game on a Brett Favre sack), then shortly after my 2nd string MLB got injured (out for game), then shortly after my 3rd string MLB got injured (out for game)...all in just the 3rd quarter. One or two more of those and I woulda had to forfeit the game I think...and just a side note, my secondary had 15 pass deflections and 0 interceptions. Only 1 or 2 of those was a legitimate pass deflection, the rest of the 13 or 14 were all failed attempts at intercepting the ball...that was the most frustrating game I've ever played even though I won by 2 touchdowns.
