Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!

Steelers v. Bengals is going down today.

Im trying out a 3rd playbook, so if anybody wants to scrimmage (to try new things) let me know and I will hop on XBL

Deuce I can absolutely play tonight. I'm at an 8 year olds pool party on my bold 9650 right now. Ill be play ready from around 7pm-2am EST
Trying to sabotage Oakland's future bv? :D Just kidding. Either way, I wouldn't mind. I never get too excited for drafts.
Yes. :D

Also I want the Jets' third rounder that was traded for Cromartie and his 14 children. ;)

If it's a question of hassle, I'd gladly volunteer to keep track of it. I definitely think its worth doing, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't.

cool
All Chargers except Gates and Rivers are now on the block. Still looking for CB help, but now primarily would like picks.
I could use a WR. I remember you had interest in Ike
Question about trading picks, and the draft in general:

Are we honoring real-life trades of picks for the 2011 draft which were made prior to this season (ie, in last year's draft or before?)

I think it would be more realistic if we did. For example:

Oakland has Richard Seymour, for whom they traded their 2011 1st round choice. It seems fair to me that New England get that pick since Oakland still has Seymour in-game.

For reference, here's a list of of trades for the 2011 draft: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_NFL_Draft#Trades
I say no...its more fair to have everybody start out with a full compliment of draft choices at there disposal....
I think it makes sense since otherwise it would just be like a team getting a player for free. But on the other hand...I think it also makes sense not to since going into the season, you choose your team based on their current roster...so you're basically accepting your team as it is. You're not really looking to the future like "nice I'm gonna get two first round picks with this team".
I think one could make the case that taking the team "as it is" includes draft picks that have been accumulated by that team. Several teams (The Patriots in particular, who I don't even have) make it a business of stockpiling draft picks for future years. I don't think it would be unreasonable at all to reflect that in our draft. I'm not saying we have to do it, I'm just saying that the case is there and it makes sense.

For example: Carolina → New England (PD). Carolina traded this selection to New England for a 2010 third-round selection (89th overall; Carolina selected Armanti Edwards)

Edwards is on the Panthers. He would not be on the Panthers if that pick wasn't traded. It would have been used on a player who would now be on New England's roster. In order to acquire Edwards, the Panthers traded their 2011 2nd round pick. It seems pretty cut-and-dry to me.

Edit: Obviously I realize I'm spinning my wheels since I'm probably the only one who thinks this is a good idea. But I got called in to work on Saturday and am bored, so this is the result.

Texans, when are you up to play?
I am pumped for this game.

I think I got screwed uber, I saw the post that said you may sim it, what made you let him play against the CPU?

I am proud of my 5-3 record with 2 of my losses coming from simmed games and the other coming from a very close game with bv.
Anybody have a fast reciever available for trade like 95 or faster
I might be willing to flip the recently acquired Santana Moss who's a 96 speed.

Ohhhhh my bad I have a bye this week we dont play for another week

Steelers and Bengals kept losing connection in the same spot. Happend 4 times, we are going to try again later. THANKS EA!

Zurezo and I just tried to play four or five times, and every time the game would disconnect after the opening kickoff. Same thing every time--coin toss, kickoff, closeup of Big Ben on the sidelines, disconnected. Wasn't someone else having this problem last week after the new patch?
this is stupid

every time it goes to the sideline cut scenes after he kicks it to me the game dcs us from the servers

we went into a multiplayer lobby and both of us are showing full bars so our connection is fine, just something is stopping this game from happening

we both figure this game needs to be simmed cause we can't fix what seems to be EA's prob
Did you guys ever get this figured out? This is exactly what's happening to us.

EA's servers died the other night while doing some CAG NHL 11 team play as well. I believe that was Thursday night/Friday morning.

I hadn't heard anything on here from the Cowboys owner, but I noticed he sent me an XBL message yesterday. I am responding in the thread, via PM, and on XBL. However, as I've said before, XBL is probably the worst way to contact me, after (1) Facebook, (2) CAG PM, (3) thread, and (4) XBL. While I have been on XBL nightly due to NHL 11 coming out, I don't check it every day, and sometime it's just Xbox.com, so no I can't hear voice messages. Facebook, I check daily unelss I'm away from home, but I also check CAG daily while I'm home so the board is a great way to contact me in general, or especially if you'd rather not communicate via Facebook with message board folks. This is just a general reminder for anyone and everyone who needs to contact me in the future.

Anyway, hoping to get Packers vs. Cowboys in tomorrow night. I just have to wait for Cobra to confirm or deny.

Well after never being able to even get in the same lobby, the Jets and the Lions were able to get their game going without an issue. I don't know what we did exactly. I believe he hooked up his xbox to his wireless router inside of directly into the modem. I (think) I switched my NAT settings from Moderate, but I'm not 100% sure. Dashboard just told me it was set to Moderate and to turn off/on router and retry. Not sure if my settings changed, but it worked.

Onto the game. Jets once again gave way to a big 1st quarter. Though, at least this time it wasn't on one huge play on the 2nd play of the game. Instead the Lions worked down the field and scored with a pass to Burleson. The Jets, however, did score on their opening drive on one big play. A 81-yard rush from Greene for a TD on the first play for them. Lions of course answered back with a kick return TD, and I thought we were off to the races.

Instead, the drives finally began to lengthen out from there. The Jets scored 21 unanswered after the kick return. Making it 28-14 midway through the 3rd. Field goals were exchanged and New York scored their last TD on a 48-yard run from LT. Burleson would catch another TD with about a minute to go for a final score of 38-24 Jets. Gg.

Two offense plays stand out for me the most. Keller caught a pass wide open up the sideline and was about 2-3 yards from scoring but as he tried to break a tackle for the TD, he fumbled the ball. Luckily, Holmes was there to scoop it up and take credit for the TD but Sanchez's TD pass was not to be. The other one (and I'm not sure why I didn't look at these again and save the replays), was a beautiful pass to Edwards. It was actually a pretty dangerous pass, but Edwards climbed up and got it and then proceed to fight off Lions for the 36-yard TD.

Jet stat highlights:
Sanchez - 9 for 10, 2 TDs, 242 yards
Greene - 206 yards, 1 TD
Edwards - 90 yards, 2 TDs
Cromartie accounted for my lone INT. E.Smith actually had one too, but Jenkins was called for a late hit on the QB, which I thought was VERY questionable haha. I tried to check the replay during the game, but I don't think that's an option.

Stafford was surprisingly elusive. I few too many plays I gave him too much time and space back there and he would run for the 1st down. I got lucky on one of them though because he dove instead of slid at one point and that caused him to fumble it right to Jason Taylor. A pretty big moment in the game.

Buccaneers 24, Falcons 45

It was a close game until the fourth when the Falcon defense finally decided to show up. I also had a few lucky breaks on special teams: Jerious Norwood returns the opening kick 99 yards for a TD, Steve Breaston fumbles on the 2nd half kick off. Jbrun played with great sportsmanship, hats off to you! good game.

Notable Stats:
TB- Arrelious Benn 5 RCPT, 152 YRDS, 3 TD. Josh Freeman 16-37, 338 YRDS, 3 TD.
ATL- Michael Turner 17 AT, 136 YRDS, 3 TD. Jerious Norwood 5 AT, 60 YRDS, 1 TD, 3 RET, 135 YRDS, 1 TD

Dolphins-Ravens has ben postponed due to connectivity issues... and to me having to work in a lil bit. game scheduled for 11 am(awaiting confirmation) sunday morning.

Dolphins Ravens started twice.....First Game Dolphins Losing 14-7..... and it disconnects... 2nd time.....i'm up 14-7....disconnects right at the end of the first.. We're going to play tomorrow. Crazy good games.... i was sweating bullets...we were both having fun as far as i could tell.

I wonder whats up with all these disconnects. Jbrun and I had perfect connection throughout, the kicking was also the best I've ever come across online.

These disconnects are worrying me a bit. In the latest game in the other league I'm in, I lost connection 3 times. We called it quits after the 3rd one.

Weird thing is that the first two times happened at essentially the same moment. Right after my first series. 3rd time happened right after the opening 2nd half kick off.

Well, no problems from my last game in terms of connection. Hopefully it'll stay that way.

Talking about that last game, it was just disappointing on my end. The first time where I felt I actually felt I gave the Bears defense their due, and I blow it. My defense gave my offense a ton of chances by forcing 3 INTs and plenty of stops. But I couldn't do squat with them, including not scoring a single point from those 3 picks. Combine that with a kick-off return in the 2nd quarter which happened immediately after my first TD, a punt that went inside my 5 at a crucial time(4th quarter when the score was 14-10), and then finally Fitzpatrick got his act together by converting a couple of big passing plays towards the end of that game which led to a Bills TD making it 24-10. Game ended 28-17, but the last 3 TDs were scored in the last 2.5 minutes or so. So the game was a hell of a lot closer than the scoreboard made it out to be. Great game nonetheless Gumbill. :applause:

Bills over the Bears 28-17.

Very close game for basically the whole game--7-3 at the half. The Bears went up after one of Fitzpatrick's 3 INTs led to a Forte TD (EDIT: May be mistaken about that, given Eddie's description...I have a terrible memory), but Roscoe Parrish smoked the Bears' special teams for a 101 yd kickoff return, his second. (The stats may show more, but he's only had two under me. Game 1 was another owner)

Bills blew it wide open after a solid drive and a late long TD run. A punt inside the 5 worked wonders to stop the Bears at their own one, nearly forcing a safety. Bears put together a quick TD drive at the end, but missed the onside kick and it was all over. Certainly a GG overall.

TWO GAME WINNING STREAK FOR THE BILLS! Watch out, AFC! >.>

god, i hate playing with random people online. How do you guys deal with the jerks who do things like onside kick every time, and other bullshit calls?

I think my new strategy is to just leave the controller for a while so that they have to sit through like an hour and a half to get the win. i hate to do shit like that, but how else can you deter these people?

I dont get it, if i quit at the beginning because someone is being an asshole, i get punished, but if im winning and they quit, i dont get anything? its not even worth playing against random people. so annoying.

Well if they quit, you should get the win. They have fixed that problem. To combat against those types of players, I'll usually just sit on the ball and make my drives as long as possible. If it gets really bad, I'll probably just no huddle the whole game.

Alright just an update: Scotts was busy this weekend so we're set to play sometime Monday. I suggested 4:00 p.m. EST based on my schedule, but I'm waiting on him to give the okay on that. He says he's pretty much wide open on Monday so I'm assuming that's when we're gonna play.

I really wish they would attempt to put in something that helps people who like to play a somewhat sim like game to play one another. Have some sort of lobby for it or an individual rating like that sportsmanship rating in the NCAA FB game. Then go in-depth some more and tell people how often they go for an unfair 4th down play or an unnecessary onside kick.

Oh well. This is why I like playing in leagues. No need to deal with these asshats and if there are any, then there's plenty of people to put them in their place.

I pmed you and xbl msg'd you. You said thursday did not work because of the game. I understand that. You said how about 7:00 the following night. I was on at 6:45, you never showed and we had to advance. If no times worked for you why even bring up a time? I have the pm from you stating that.

Also hey packers owner, when can you play? I am free Sunday and Monday and Tuesday if needed. Monday and Tuesday would have to be later, I have work during the day until 5:00 est.

Apple, I responded to your message on XBL today, and I PM'ed you twice. As I said, tomorrow would be fine. I'd prefer to schedule our game in between the real-life Packers game (4 P.M. Eastern) and the Sunday night game between Dallas and Washington (8:15 Eastern). That should give us an hour window, or close to it. If you cannot play at that time, I can still play during the Cowboys/Skins game; I just prefer not to. I definitely will not miss the Packers, though.

If tomorrow doesn't work, Monday would be fine. I'll be watching the 2 MNF games, but as is the case with the Sunday night game, it's not the Packers, so I can pause the DVR. Later is not an issue for me since I am on Pacific time, 3 hours earlier, and I am usually not even available until after you get off work.

Just get back to me via PM or reply in this thread. I'm looking forward to facing you since I hate the Cowboys (nothing personal), but judging by your stats, the game will be one hell of a challenge!

Cardinals 28, Vikings 21.

Minnesota still can't win at home, moving to 0-4. Favre threw an INT that was returned for a TD, which turned out to be the difference in the end. There was also an interception in the red zone that was off a tipped pass with under two minutes left. Arizona then fumbled it back to the Vikings on the same play, but the booth overturned it and gave the Cards possession. Too bad, because I had reservations for 6.

At least the Bears lost as well, so I'm still tied for the lead in the NFC North.

Good game, Darth.

Cardinals-29 Vikings-21

Rodgers-Cromartie grabbed the only INT of the game and brought it back for a 80 yard return on the Vikings 2nd possession of the game. Although rushing for only 51 yard, Beanie Wells managed to soften up the Vikings secondary and came away with some key 1st downs late in the game. Adrian Peterson came away with 137 yards rushing but, coughed up the momentum-shifting fumble early in the 4th Q. In the last 1:30 in the Redzone, Adrian Wilson grabbed the game winning pick only to fumble it 10 yards after the snatch, however, after reviewing Wilson was down prior to losing possession and the ruling was overturned. GG.

ok still can't get a game in

tried several times with desklaser tonight

the problem happened every time my offense would get on the field

we tried in a non franchise game and game played fine

only thing we can figure is something is wrong with my franchise team ever since you did the free agent move on my team, I'm checking depth charts and things look in order, but something is jacked up on my team severely and I can't figure out what is going on
Yeah, the NFC North is going to be won by a team with single digit wins.
You say that like it's a bad thing and that it's an uncommon thing or something.

Ever since I started playing random people online in Madden, my Xbox Live rep or player rating or whatever seems to have taken a pretty big hit. A bunch of people give me negative feedback under "unsportsmanlike conduct" for some reason (presumably people who are bitter after I beat them). I play online pretty much exactly how I play against you guys in the league...which I think is about as sportsmanlike as it gets. The only thing I sometimes don't do is kneel the ball with under 2 minutes left in the game cause I don't have to worry about injuries and stuff.

so we tried several more times after I redid my whole depth chart

still nothing, we'd get like 3 series in and dc

time to look into ea's forums and see if others are having this issue
You say that like it's a bad thing and that it's an uncommon thing or something.
Not bad since it gives me a shot. It's definitely not common for the NFC North; in fact, I can't remember any division other than the West (each conference) being won with single digit victories in my entire lifetime.

3rd quarter..roughly 2 minutes left...dolphins down 24-7....on the drive....a pass out to ricky williams to the right..gets batted by his defender...ricky tries to catch it...Disconnect.....this is getting stupid.
